What do you think about the Subaru WRX 2011? I want to sell my 130iA and take one subie
>buying a used subaru
>>17054143
I live in Brazil kek
>>17054143
2011 was the last year they were any good and it's hard to buy a brand new 7 year old car.
How reliable is a porsche 944 non S?
>>17053768
Pretty good if it's been looked after and hasn't done a zillion miles.
But they do need a decent maintenance schedule if you want to keep them that way.
>>17053777
So by maintenance, is there anything except for changing oil, checking belts, etc?
>>17053810
I daily drove one for 5 years before it died on me, mine was a S with a s2 swap in it though. Picked it up with 100k miles, I treated it real bad. I had to replace the rear cv axles 4 times when I snapped them launching it, I replaced the clutch (it's a real bitch in them too, you gotta take the whole rear end, exhaust, ect off). Cleaned the AFM and did some electrical work when it was idling bad. I wouldn't say anything beyond the ordinary to expect with a 25 year old car, reason mine died was the water pump cracked and I just gave up on it.

What will you do now that the last semblance of freedom you had in the People's Republic of Ontario is gone br/o/thers?

gee i wonder why everyone's street racing instead
how's kart racing anyways? I might want to try that out.

If I'm reading this right it sounds like a private track day on a weekend is only $137 booked in advance for the first driver and only $25 per additional entry. Too bad I live 3 hours away
what's /o/'s opinion on mandatory vehicle safety inspections? what policy applies to where you live?
>New York
>all cars must be inspected at a state certified mechanic (many of them) at least once per year
I realize that /o/ can probably realize many problems without a mechanic but when you have so many idiots on the road getting their car checked at least once a year makes fucking sense so they're not driving on completely bald tires or anything like that. some people will not get regular maintenance on their vehicle without being forced to bring it in.
>New Jersey
>mandatory inspections once a year
I'm still riding around on my '05 explorer with a bad inspection from January 2015. The check engine light has been on for almost 3 years because of a busted EGR valve
I've gotten pulled over for it once but by this point I'm not worried about it because I'm getting a new car in a month. I drive by the police station every day on my way to/from work and the cops don't stop me for the bad sticker, even with a ticket for it in the past

> It's a great thing that keeps rusted deathtraps off the road
> UK
> Government-regulated test every year for cars older than three years
> Test basically is to make sure the car isn't rusted through or broken
> Can fail it for excessive tire/brake wear or body rust
I thought it would be awesome moving to a state that doesn't require an inspection.
wrong.
Road delays all the time because someone's rust bucket finally shit out. Scared of driving because I'm afraid someone's metal death trap is going to fucking veer off or have a piece fall off and hurt my car.
exhaust pipes and mufflers falling off cars mid traffic
Any county that has vehicle inspection but NO EMISSIONS is GOAT
Is he finished?
All his good videos are behind a paywall, I don't fuck with him anymore.
until he finishes the fairmont yeah.
i give him props for doing a build right though. unlike other youtube cucks that spend a weekend on a build and half ass it or pay mexicans to build it for them.
>>17046215
I don't think it should take 100 videos. His Fairmont Project playlist is at 76, and he said he has at least 20 to go.
What tires you guys running?
Just picked up some Pilot Super Sports for my frs. Soooo much more grip than the stock Prius tires.
Pirelli p zero of course.
Dunlop Signature HP.

Hangook evo2 are pretty good for the money also.

Can someone explain to me why a '67 car costs so much?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1967-Ford-Mustang-All-New-/172620956130
For example I found the same car with only 1700$
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1967-Ford-Mustang-/172633830593
Are they trying to scam people?
>>17056028
> Why is a fully restored sports car, that is 50 years old in pristine condition. Being sold for so much?
>>17056039
Quick question, if i buy this one >>17056038 and I restore it myself. How much would it cost me to make it like >>17056028
>CKRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Am I the only one that finds this ASMR? Pulling the brake while pressing the button is for cucks.
Parking or hooning? I want to be able to disengage the brake quickly while hooning.
>>17055725
I find the clicking soothing. The rest of my family is autistic though and screams about how YOU'RE WEARING IT OUT
>having a button
Or atleast, thats what I was planning on writing until I actually looked at the handle and saw what it read
What are you doing this week/weekend, /o/?
I swapped engines in my impreza, 2.0 to 2.5 single cam
Why'd you leave the transmission in? In my experience it's a massive pain in the ass to mate it back with the engine so it's easier to just take both out together and put them both together once you're done.
>>17055330
I already replaced it, and its not that hard to put them back together, especially with a buddy helping. It took like 5 minutes to take the old one out and put the new one in. The worst part was fighting a stripped engine mount nut,
I'm not sure I'll be working on my car this weekend.
It's a '93 AE101, I bought it three weeks ago, and so far I did :
- timing belt & V-belts
- spark plugs & air filter
- ICV cleaning
- power steering flush
- new radio + speakers
And on the checklist there's still :
- oil change (current one looks good, but I still don't know exactly when it was last changed, it's more of a peace of mind item)
- brake flush
- having the bumpers repainted, and 3 pinhole sized chips in the paint repaired, the only rust spots on the whole car, I still need to find a good body work specialist, I don't have the skill for that, nor the proper equipment.
After that I should be set, but I'd like to spend at least one weekend just driving the car, instead of working on it somehow.
I drive a 2013 Ford Explorer and recently heard about a service bulletin dealing with exhaust leaking into the cabin. I haven't noticed any exhaust smell or funny feelings, but I'm worried that I won't notice if it does start happening (CO being odorless/colorless/etc). Am I justified in installing a CO detector in my car, if only to ease my paranoia?
if you're worried that your condition might be caused by CO it would be a good way to do so before you get into an accident or pass out from carbon monoxide poisoning
GTFO WITH THIS NORMIE SHIT
SERIOUSLY
I BET YOU PLUG AN INSURANCE TRACKER INTO YOUR OBD2
>>17054678
edgy, I bet you don't wear your seat belt or use your turn signals either?
>>17054663
Condition? I didn't notice anything strange before I read the service bulletin and saw a few news articles on the subject. I only drive 4 miles each way to work and back, so it's not really enough time for CO to have any real effect anyway. That said, I don't want to find out on a longer drive if my car is affected.
Either way, Fuck Ford for screwing up the rear hatch design/shut lines/seals, that's apparently the culprit and I've noticed on multiple Explorers that the rear hatch doesn't line up well/evenly with the quarter panels and sides. Embarrassing shit.
Why do people think that they can get back any money they put into a car? I've always grown up knowing that anything extra I add = $0 extra I can charge, should I sell. When did this change?
And who the hell would add $40k to a gt mustang
I made a bunch of money in the early 2000s doing engine swaps for ppl
god bless the fast and furious movies
>>17054514
IT might not be worth it to YOU, but someone who isn't poor as shit who doesn't feel like doing the work/buying the parts might see value in this.
Poorfags who think they can """negotiate""" prices on things will never understand.
>>17054537
>IT might not be worth it to YOU, but someone who isn't poor as shit who doesn't feel like doing the work/buying the parts might see value in this.
No, it's actually not worth it to anyone which is why these cars never sell. Part of the journey is buying the vehicle in its stock form and then seeing through the modifications. Just look at any NA miata. Just look at any Supra.
https://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/cto/6065737184.html
This would be a $40,000 car if it wasn't ruined
If you had to choose, would you rather have a ricer or a stanced car? No selling the car
The top isn't stanced, what is the point of this image? That being said, you can derice a car. Main damage will be to bodywork. Stance, who knows how badly the subframes etc are fucked.
The most functional one, aka, riced.
depends
if the car was stanced on bags and never driven i'd pick the stanced car since 0 miles on it would mean it wasn't beat to shit and bags mean i can raise it to a decent height to drive
if static or has a lot of miles while stanced i'd pick the ricemobile
