Hey yall, just wanted to give an update on my car.
A month ago, I sold my dd shitbox hyundai to this dude and his wife for $3000 and picked up this bmw for $2,500. I got a 97 e39 bmw 540i with the 6 speed and the m sport package. It's got m3 wheels and a fuck ton of power.
As soon as I got it back from Houston, my spark plug shot out of it's housing, and since no mechanic in my town wants to work on bmws I had to bore out and rethread it, also the water pump fucked me over. To make it a little louder, I took out the muffler and resonator and left the pipes open after the cats, and now it sounds like a dragon.
Tell me what you think, where my e39 bros at?

There is a 1977 Saab 99 Turbo test car for sale near me, 1 of 40 ever imported to the US. The guy wants $750, he says the rust is very bad. Odometer reads 70k miles, car is 95% complete. Do I buy it regardless of the condition? I feel like this is big. When does it become impossible to fix rust?

Depends on your skills/size of wallet. If you're looking to restore it you'll have a hard time finding parts I'm pretty sure. If you're looking to flip it you probably won't get hurt.
As far as rust goes, there is no fixing metal that has completely oxidized. If it has never seen a salted road you may be alright. The 2 photos look pretty damn clean considering the age. Floor pans can be patched or replaced if you can find replacements. Again it comes down to your fab skills or wallet.
"Rust is very bad" got a pic of the underbody? Considering the foliage in the background I'm guessing it is down south and the seller has never seen a rust belt car.
If it isn't completely rotted out underneath I'd hit it.

The year is 2021, Ford has a big press conference and unveils a new engine for their mustang. They pull the curtains and a new 3.5L V6 engine is shown in a prototype for the next model year.
It is turbo charged, makes 450hp and gets 26 mpg avg. combined. Its based off the ford gt's V6 but is detuned, made for mass production and can handle everyday driving.
However, the engine will be put in the GT model. A V8 is only attainable in the Shelby version due to new regulations and company costs.
The ecoboost 4 cylinder also gets a nudge from 310hp to 345hp, makes it a viable enthusiast alternative for those on a budget
How does /o/ feel about the death of the V8, can we call it a muscle car anymore?
