Like 3-4 months ago I made a thread talking about how I bought an 88 Mustang LX for $100 from a family friend to learn how to fix cars on. Well the weathers warm and I just clicked submit on my final assignment for school so I have 4 months of weekend free time. I was going going to pick up a tool kit after work tomorrow to start Saturday. Is this a good one?

http://m.homedepot.com/p/Husky-Mechanics-Tool-Set-268-Piece-H268MTS/203541462

I have a go pro to take some good video and make a YouTube channel. I promised I would.

I looked at this one as well. It doesn't look as good as the first though.

I remember you op. What kind of condition is the car in now? When was the last time it drove?

Ditch the rims.
My tablet is slow and not loading your links.
You need standard and metric wrenches and sockets, couple extensions, good ratchet and a breaker bar.And a 12 point 12mm shallow socket (if the set is 6 point).
There's very few sizes used over the entire car, so don't stress.
I'm sure the links have Allen's and crap you'll rarely, if ever, use.
Depending on what you really get into, on occasion you'll need "tamper resistant torx" bits or standard ford (seatbelt is size 50 torx, tfi module on distributor is either a tiny tamper resistant torx or like a 5.5 mm that you'll need a thin wall socket to get to, total pita).

Get a nice all-aluminum radiator. Not some garbage ford racing pos- you can get at least a fluidyne for $250 if you shop around.
Stay away from "upgrades" for awhile, they'll just cause issues.
Shit like injector/maf combos that are "tuned" for the stock ECU DO NOT function correctly.
Look into a moate's quarter horse or a twEECer RT (don't waste money on a stock twEECer that doesn't do data logging). These are piggy-back computers that override the stock ecu and you can program with a laptop to correctly tune for mods without having someone burn a chip that has to be replaced next time you change some minor component.

What are some of your major red flags when driving in public, /o/?

Mine is handicap drivers, they almost always seem to either drive extremely slow or extremely reckless.

How much time ya got bud? Where do I start.

-Young Females: almost every time I've seen someone glancing down at their lap constantly it's been a 16-21 year old girl.
-Chinese: indecisive and inattentive
-New Driver / Learner's Permit: unpredictable
-Elderly: refusal to properly shoulder check due to perceived notion of it causing a neck sprain

Probably forgetting the rest, but the good people of this f/o/rum will assist.

Is that to get it to europe or get it to the ring?

got a mitsubishi outlander, the things been sitting for about 4 months (in cali some rain but not much weather).

it wouldn't start, charged the battery and got it going. drove around for 15 mins, came home and the fucker wouldnt start again. evertime i stopped the radio would die.

jumped it again and drove for an hour. the radio stopped giving me shit so i figured cool and went home, same thing. only now when i push the start button the light comes on for the button but nothing else. AND i can't get it to turn off. i left the key out for a while and it either turned off because of that or died. fucker won't start again.

i can't afford a new battery if i give it another shot will anything happen or am i risking getting stranded. i need to put gas in it (i know i should have filled it months ago) but i don't want to turn the engine off.

Kelley Blue Book is telling me the fair market price for the car I'm looking for in my area is $7,000 less than the lowest sticker price I can find online. Am I really expected to haggle with these people for 8 hours to chip the price down by $7,000?

Never bought a car on my own. Be gentle.

KBB is like a stop signs and no left turn on red arrows. They're more like a guideline rather than a rule.
>>
>>17192292
So should I aim for haggling them down $5,000 or something

From 31k, btw
>>
>>17192348
No, it doesn't sound like KBB knows the fair market price. If everyone in your market is a minimum of $7,000 higher than what KBB is saying, what makes you think you'll be able to haggle $5,000 off the price? Sounds like the market is about $7,000 higher than what you think it is, or are wishing it was.

Who will keep them alive when boomers and Gen Xers drop dead?

Millennials don't care about cars in general. Is the hobby on its way out? Is the auto hobby going to be in the same tier as "train hobbyists", a bunch of weirdos?

Is there a more /o/ approved country than Cuba?

Yeah it's cool and exotic but it would suck to be an auto enthusiast in Cuba
>>
>>17191882
Im pretty sure cubans can only own a car if they use it as a taxi.
They have to keep those ancient shitboxes running because thats the only thing they are allowed to have.
Those cars have been handed down through generations of taxi drivers.
>>
There is no /o/ approved country. Either the taxes are too high, the traffic laws and modification laws too strict, the traffic too bad, the roads too boring, the roads in too bad a condition or the drivers too uneducated.

What's your opinion on Jeep Wrangler /o/ ? Im looking to get one
