PRESIDENT TRUMP AGREED WITH TOP CONGRESSIONAL DEMOCRATS AT A WHITE HOUSE MEETING TO FUND THE GOVERNMENT AND RAISE THE DEBT CEILING THROUGH DEC. 15. DESPITE OBJECTIONS FROM VIRTUALLY ALL GOP LEADERS.

"In the meeting, the President and Congressional leadership agreed to pass aid for Harvey, an extension of the debt limit, and a continuing resolution both to December 15, all together," Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said in a joint statement.
While the report give the impression of delightful civility, the reality was rather different, as Trump concluded a deal with Schumer, Pelosi et al behind Ryan and McConnell's backs.

I am told by multiple sources Rs are furious. The Democratic ploy — to keep debt limit short term — worked. It took just a few hours.
TRUMP also agreed to extend government funding until December 15, setting up a wild final month of the year.
TRUMP agrees to 3-month debt limit increase in meeting w hill leaders. All GOP leaders were opposed, per multiple sources.
TO BE CLEAR: Debt limit, govt funding expires 12/15. Ryan, McConnell, McCarthy were all opposed. Trump, Pelosi, Schumer were on same side.

What just happened at the White House is what Republicans have been complaining about for months.
On many occasions, Rs have felt like they have a plan. Then Trump will hear something else, and he’ll agree, blowing up the GOP framework
On this occasion, Democrats feel like they’ve just completely rolled him. Now the debt ceiling will be a threat at least 1 more time in 2017 and Dems — looking to extract a win on DACA — have a host of must-pass bills in the hopper in 3 months. Rs think this is the worst outcome

Do you have an actual source?

OK I will delete this post and wait 5 days for CNN to write up a complete article and post it then.
You fucking retard.

thanks

Zerohedge is pretty solid
>>
>>175565
it was a fucking joke shut up DAMN

>Zero Hedge on Global Warming
>...so after careful review of our research and data, we're going to revise the previous abstract which stated that the earth's climate is rising at a rate of +1°C every ten years, because we've actually discovered its closer to +.95°C.
>THE FACTS ARE IN. Liberal scientists LIED about climate change to suit their OWN AGENDA. These "scientists" have proven just how irreputable their reports our. Can we really trust them?
>>
>>175581
Seems pretty spot on to me. Global warming is a jewish lie.
>>
So much winning.
>>
>>175581

Man made global warming is the lie, not global warming
>>
So how will Trumptards spin this? My money is on the 4-D chess meme.
>>
>>175742
He is putting America before party politics. He did the right thing.
>>
>>175524
Funny that Trump does the right thing for once, avoiding a debt limit train crash via bipartisan action (without giving any concessions other than having to revisit the issue), and the Republicans act like it's the end of the world. Christ almighty, everyone with a drop of sense knows that the only way for Congress and the country to move forward is for bipartisanship to take root, just a month or so ago McCain was getting all sorts of praise for asking Congress to return to normal order. But when any actually takes place the right starts screeching about how evil the Dems are. Hopefully this thing passes on the backs of moderate/sensible Republicans and Democrats, leaving the freedom caucus crying in the corner.
>>
>>175651
>Since the climate can change naturally, all climate change must be unrelated to human activity
>We have proof, a small minority of scientists believe that climate change is not caused by humans, checkmate libtards
>>175582
>Falling for obvious falseflagging

>>175742
I think they'll just ignore it, it's hard to understand a complex concept such as negotiation to people who think free trade is what's killing the economy
>>
>>175748
>a small minority of scientists

More communist lies
>>
>>175756
Then it should be easy for you to find some evidence of overwhelming consensus among scientists that global warming is a natural phenomenon

https://climate.nasa.gov/evidence/
Weird that the communist deep state has penetrated so far as to make NASA spout fringe theories. It's alright though, I trust that you and Rush Limbaugh are more qualified than those who make a career of studying the atmosphere.
>The current warming trend is of particular significance because most of it is extremely likely (greater than 95 percent probability) to be the result of human activity since the mid-20th century and proceeding at a rate that is unprecedented over decades to millennia.1
>>
>>175747

Giving the Democrats everything they want when they 100% oppose everything the GOP is not bipartisan support
>>
>>175565
You're an idiot because ZH is loaded with conspiracy drivel. It's not Alex Jones tier bullshit, but it's still bullshit.

How would you know if an entity is biased if the tool you're using is biased? Grow up and go through the material yourself and decide if its bullshit or not.

ZeroHedge is the economic version of fox news with its extremely misleading articles, dubious sources, and demonstrably untrue statements that they frequently make. They are perpetual bears who have -- as the joke for ZH by investors goes -- predicted 100 of the last 2 recessions. The only positive contribution that ZH made for financial news was when they reported on Goldman Sachs conducting HFT.

One of the writers for it had spilled the beans a few years ago.

ZeroHedge is a shit source, get over it.
>>
He's got a really shitty resolve and caved to the first chance to get out of responsibility.
>>
>>175744
No he didn't lol. Republicans crossed him, so he crossed them. He did this to be petty.
>>
>>175764
>Everything they want
So everything the Democrats wanted was a three month delay on expanding the debt ceiling? Try again.
>>
>>175791
>Zerohedge is a shit source
I honestly haven't heard of it until this thread but the story is true m8, and attacking the source isn't going to change it.

>>
>>175842
Then why not post those sources instead of ZH? Whether the underlying facts are true, it is still possible to present them with a spin that will lead the reader towards certain conclusions. We should always strive to find the most unbiased presentation of the facts and then come to our own conclusions.
>>
>>175800
shocking, petty man who has made a career of being petty does something petty.
and in one rare instance it turns out pettiness against other petty people actually inadvertently served national interest.
>>
>>175798
and it's good he did, because republicans won't have the opportunity to stiff victims of the hurricane by insisting commitments tore build would be made on a monthly basis so that they could drop it after a couple of months of people outside the path of carnage being distracted.
>>
>>175874
I wouldn't say that it served national interest, purely because it was a petty move. We shouldn't be making decisions based upon who it spites, in any occasion. These are national problems and this fucking party line shitshow has stalled it long enough.

As soon as the dems do something Trump remotely doesn't like, then he's going to switch again, and again nothing of note will be accomplished aside from pissing off some useless old farts.
>>
>>175877
OK, but as far as petty things go, a member of the majority party getting together with the minority party to come to an agreement, which some more of the majority party has to then be convinced to sign on to, is at the very least bipartisan, and arguably ideally how a government works.
>>
>>175540
>Do you have an actual source?
Stage One: Denial
In the time it took you to post this, you could have gone to Google news and seen it for yourself.
>>
>>175870
Because KochTard posted it first to display their dominance over you people.
>>
>>175875
Absolutely, I think it's hilarious that Ryan is accusing the Dems of politicizing the thing when all this does is move the debt ceiling to the back burner for a few months. The hurricane relief has a clear path through Congress now that the right can't try to force Democrats to sign off on major spending cuts in order to do the right thing for Texas.
>>
>>175877
>We shouldn't be making decisions based upon who it spites, in any occasion.

That's American politics in a nutshell, though.
>>
Weird that in saying this but I got to side on Trump on this
It's slimey as fuck to hold Harvey relief like that as a card
>>
>>176000
Its actually pretty common. The last hurricane was half relief and half pork barrel spending that was tacked on under the relief because almost nobody could survive even debating relief funds.
>>
>>176001

God forbid the states be required to have an emergency reserve instead of waiting underwater for sugar daddy federal government to get all their pork straight in a relief bill
>>
>>175842
I didn't say the story was false. I was replying to someone who thought ZH is a solid source (see >>175565 ) which it clearly is not.
>>
>>175993

Not really.

At the strategic and tactical level, politics is usually very rational when it comes to jockeying for power. It might be covered in a veneer of partisan shit talk and buffoonery, but the apparatchiks of both major parties and their allies carefully select their talking points and wedge issues they seek to push. Political Parties have to be this way or else they will get out competed, so survival does not entail a strategy simply spiting others.

The retards who don't get this are the outliers, and Trump so far has been the biggest outlier to date.
>>
>>176003
>the states be required to have an emergency reserve
There is no legal mechanism to require that other than withholding funding for something else. Plenty of red State governors would just say "no" and give up their Medicaid (or whatever).
>>
>>175929
I have never read this post and I must have seen it 100 times now hahahaha
>>
>>175524
Imagine that and outsider is going to behave as an outsider. Good Fuck Ryan, you don't support the president he wont' support you.
>>
>>175581
man made climate change has been debunked time and time again. Why are you still shilling that nonsense?
>>
>>175742
we don't need to spin this. Its a good thing.
>>
>>175800
Sure that's why it happened, not because the democrats said they would "give" him something in return.

TDS is a real illness and this liberal needs help.
>>
>>176076
How is it a good thing? It's a good thing for Democrats because now they get to extract concessions in December when McConnell needs their votes to pass a budget, but wouldn't it be better overall the raise the debt limit for more than 3 months? Such a short window creates instability that spooks investors and effects the economy. The only way you can see this as a "good thing" is if you support the Dem agenda.
>>
>>176095

>The only way you can see this as a "good thing" is if you support the Dem agenda.

I see you're familiar with the Republican party
>>
>>176075
>Debunked time and time again
What do you get off low effort posts like this? If there was any merit to this argument people would spam the board with evidence that doesn't come from a tiny minority of scientists. Until I see that you're all just blowing hot air
>>
Trump is not a Republican, nor has he ever been one. He only ran as one because the Republicans would rather prop up their milk & toast, inner circle losers and lose decisively, so long as it kept the status quo. Trump came in knowing that he could run circles around Robuto and Guac Man because nobody liked them. His only real opposition was Ted Cruz, who is not an insider, and lost to Trump as well because of his lack of charisma, and people saw him as too conservative (inb4 Trumpfag I actually voted for Cruz in the primaries).

The same situation occurred on the other side of the aisle. Wild and crazy Bernie came out swinging and rallied his mob of starry-eyed, college debt laden, latte sipping dipshits with his socialist rhetoric. Bernie was going to win. But no, the DNC was resolute; this was HER YEAR. We had a nigger, now we need a vagina in office. The establishment was not going to let some escaped mental patient with his hipster mob usurp Hillary's "destiny", so they cut him down in the primaries.

Trump is not in office to push the Republican agenda. His intended accomplishments are sort of aligned with repubs, but not totally. But unlike Robuto and Guac Man, he's not their puppet. He has his own laundry list that he wants to see done, and he will do it regardless of who he has to side with. And on a side note, fuck that chinless mick and faggot Ryan. They've done nothing but pester Trump the moment he even considered running, why should he play nice with them now?
>>
>>176099
Then why do Ryan and McConnell oppose it?
>>
>>176119

They don't actually oppose it, they just have to pretend they do for constituents.
>>
In before the GOP conveniently supplies enough votes to start the impeachment process
>>
>>176106
>Trump is not a Republican
what is this 2016

SHE LOST MATE GIT OVER IT
>>
>>176095
It wasn't just done to backstab republicans.
It also provided aid for Hurricane Harvey rebuilding effort. Paul Ryan was unwilling to commit to as much of a lump sum of aid and were weary of raising the debt limit, which made it likely that many of the republicans were likely to stiff the victims of the disaster as soon as it left public conscious after a few months. They also wanted to use Trump's plan for a border rampart as a bargaining chip for cutting the federal disaster relief account.
>>
>>176162
still mad because he memed a moderate reformer instead of a hardline fascist like the wet dream into the white house
>>
>>176171

Not the guy you're responding to, but honestly I think both choices in the election were total and utter shit. You don't need to be a democrat to think that Trump is an inexperienced politician and is making a lot of mistakes. I also think that while Hillary would have been a "better" choice as far as political experience; she'd still be a dangerous loose-cannon, just like Trump, but far less likely to make as many mistakes because of her years as a politician. I use the term "better" very loosely though.

Both Democrats and Republicans failed the American public by putting these people up as their front-runners. There were way better choices on both sides that got completely ignored.

Looking at this from a purely pragmatic standpoint, I think Trump was the worst possible choice we could have made, with Hillary being the second-worst.
>>
>>175764
Remember a few years ago when the government shut down because Republicans refused to work with Obama. Of course you don't, you were probably about 6 years old when that happened
>>
Just spreading some butter to ram the wall through. Fuck all wetbacks. Only the pretty ones can stay
