“IF WE HAVE TO CLOSE DOWN OUR GOVERNMENT, WE’RE BUILDING THAT WALL,” MR TRUMP SAID. “WE’RE GOING TO HAVE OUR WALL.”

A bombastic Donald Trump returned to the campaign trail on Tuesday, vowing to shut down the government if Congress did not pay for his proposed border wall and accusing his critics of trying to erase history.
Back in Phoenix, Arizona, the site of his first major campaign speech on immigration, Mr Trump delivered a starkly different speech to his remarks on US military strategy in Afghanistan, made the previous night.
“If we have to close down our government, we’re building that wall,” Mr Trump said. “We’re going to have our wall.”

https://www.ft.com/content/22735222-87c1-11e7-bf50-e1c239b45787

He warned of the dangers of “antifa” or anti-fascist groups — a name that far-right groups use to refer to the radical left. In his speech, Mr Trump used the word “antifa” publicly for the first time and appeared to tie the groups to the Democratic party.
“The Democrats have no ideas, no policy, no visions for the country other than total socialism, and maybe frankly a step beyond socialism from what I’m seeing,” he said.
>>
The president threatens to shut down the government? That's like threatening to burn down your own house.
This man is insane. We simply cannot let his tiny hands on the nuclear codes. Impeach now.
>>
>>170882
No it is not, every time these dumbass dems want to raise the debt ceiling, is when they either have to, or they stop paying everyone in dc. This happens literally every few years. I know you prolly weren't alive for all of Obama's presidency and untill a cheeto was elected you had no interest in politics, but talking out of your ass gets you no where. I suggest you figure out the definition before using that word impeachment again. You all sound ignorant.
>>
>>170886
nice copypasta
>>
>>170886
This, at the core, is correct. As a contractor to the federal government I have had at least couple days off a year to goverment shutdowns or the lesser known "funding gaps." Once it was a 2 week thing that destroyed my saved pto. It isnt new, it isnt exclusive to Trump and ultimately its on congress to decide. President doesnt have anywhere near the power Americans think he has.
>>
>>170886
I have studied the works of Karl Marx for five years and wrote my doctorate about them. I know more about economics than you ever will.
>>
>>170894
>Ive studied bunk nonsense like "labor value" and wrote my own degree, not a dissertation, on a man whose modern day followers would drag me into the street to shoot me for being an intellectual
Warned you about those states, bro. Sparrows and all that. You studied a man who wrote political fiction and got a PhD that may literally only qualify you as a Post hole Digger
>>
>>170880
>Donald Trump returned to the campaign trail on Tuesday
>Campaign Trail
What
Why dies he keep campaigning instead of holding debates and meetings
He's already President
>>
>>170900
For 2020. As Hitler said. Never let them cool down. You always have to keep the fire going.
>>
>>170903
But...

You know what fuck this
There's barely any incentive to give a fuck anymore nothing is going to get done in a positive direction at this point
>>
>>170906
You seem seriously depressed and defeated, even for a Commie.
Are you going to kill yourself now? Are you going to inject a marijuana overdose?
>>
>>170906
Trump is a libertarian. He was elected to be the wrecking ball, the human nuclear bomb to destroy the corrupt shitpile known as Washington DC.

And he is doing exactly that.
>>
>>170900
The campaigns for the midterms next year have started already. Most sitting Presidents start campaigning for reelection 2ish years before the vote. Trump is just starting earlier than usual
>>
>>170880
>“The Democrats have no ideas, no policy, no visions for the country other than total socialism"
We've been trying to force trickle down economics to work for decades now. Wages have stagnated, the working class has few protections, our environment is degrading. Maybe we can try a more intelligently mixed economy approach for once, perhaps more akin to what we had in the 1950s.
>>
>>170919
You mean when virtually no one paid taxes and the government was a small fraction of the economy and not half of it like it is now under our rotten socialist system. Sounds good to me.
>but muh 90% tax
No one paid the war taxes. Back then you could deduct literally everything.
The real tax burden as a percentage of income was virtually nothing, single digits.
Today, if you count everything correctly, it's 70%. You pay taxes on top of taxes on everything. And it chokes out the economy.
>>
>>170880
>if Congress did not pay for his proposed border wall

I thought Mexico was paying. Hmmmmm.
>>
>>170923

Cutting taxes has proven over and over to not work. I don't know why you retards eat this shit up like it's dinner.
>>
>>170926
It actually pays for itself. Once the wall is up and running the cutback in illegal immigration will pay for it.
Say you invest 30 billion in the wall. You will earn it back in savings within a 10 years. Easily. Simply by fact that less illegals will come and out a burden on law enforcement, social system, welfare and everything else.
So let's do it. Let's build a 60 billion dollar wall. 100ft tall. And with a nice big minefield and automated machine guns.
>>
>>170932
And lose money in the agriculture and construction sectors.

Solid plan moron.
>>
>>170960
>BUT YOU CAN'T TAKE MY ILLEGALS WHO WILL PICK MY COTTON
Fucking democrats never change. They said the same thing about their Nigger slaves.

You will have to hire real people and pay real wages.

I bet you think we are staring down food shrtages because farmhands are getting $30/hr and rising.

>>170965
As I was typing this popped up. Oh no, shitty Cali wine is going to get more expensive.
>>
>>170965
He is repeating the I NEED MY SLAVES, WHO WILL PICK MY COTTON argument without refuting anything.
You democrats are insane.
>>
>>170967
Being ignorant of where your food, and basically everything else that we have, comes from is your choice.

It's a harsh reality snowflake and you calling me a slave owner isn't going to change that fact.
>>
>>170965
You may want to read that thread. Its literally all luxury shit that is getting more expensive. Walnuts, wine grapes, almonds and the like. The only people losing out are the 10k acre farmers whose entire existence depended on a brown underclass without human rights working for peanuts. Actually, they may have been better off making peanuts. 30k a year in Cali is literally poverty unless the other 30k is in benefits that include housing (greencard only, illegals get 30k and deported if we hear a fucking peep out of them)
>>
>>170894
You read Karl Marx so you are an expert on economics. That is laugh out loud funny. Try expanding your mind by reading more than a single minded propagandist for a failed philosophy before inferring you are educated in economics.
>>
>>170968
Are you seriously fucking insane you fucking retard.
Farming can be done just as well by real, legal citizens that earn real wages. But you don't want that. You want more illegal slaves and less money for citizens. You want to keep everyone poor. because poor people vote democrat.
>>
>>170970
10k acre farms are mechanize and have been for at least half a century. You don't need a large number of pickers for soy, wheat, rice, corn crops. Only a couple of drivers. It is the wine grapes, and salad vegetables that require a large number of migrant farm workers. Walnut and almonds harvesting is also mechanized now, FYI.
>>
>>170966
There are already millions of positions open for skilled labor and we've been at full employment since before Trump got into office.
Reducing a labor force willing to come to the US work grueling hours for minimum wage can only hurt the economy and the working class.
>>
>>170975
So your shitty vegan shit salad will cost 10 bucks instead of 8. What's the deal.
I say 2 dollars is a price worth paying to end illegal slavery.
>>
>>170974
Don't forget to call them a bigot. Because they believe that only brown people would lower themselves to work on a farm and that people who work on farms that feed their growing elitist asses are stupid peasants who need them to run their lives.
>>
>>170977
>So your shitty vegan shit salad will cost 10 bucks instead of 8. What's the deal.
>I say 2 dollars is a price worth paying to end illegal slavery.
You got that I want more slave labor because I explained to you that most farming doesn't require extra labor at all? You really need to work on your context processing. Also the only burger I enjoy has a great big slab of beef on it.
>>
>>170900
>why does he keep campaigning instead of holding debates or meetings?
Anon pls, obvious shit is obvious.
After a horrible few weeks little drumpfy clearly needed a good ego stroke and golf must not be cutting it anymore. Why would he do boring productive things when he can just stand in front of low iq people who question nothing and clap and cheer for everything you say? It doesnt matter if he actually makes america great again, all that matters to low IQ retards is that they feel like he is, and this comes across much better at a rally than in a media conference where little drumpf can get stung by simple questions
>>
>>170975
Well I was wrong on mentioning tree nuts in such a context then. Still, largely irrelevant when its only luxuries going up. Salad vegetables are grown all over the country, almonds were mentioned because california grows almost all of them in the world. Buy Finger Lakes wine, its better than Californias sugared vinegar anyways.

>>170976
>Full employment
>Nobody will work despite us finally upping the pay to the poverty line in california for what is still manual labor
>clearly the workers are wrong for not throwing themselves at us, dont they care about the economy?
>>
>>170913

>>
>>170998
What about our people. We have tens of millions that can't find a job. And tens of millions more that are getting their wages crushed by your illegal slaves.
Fuck you.
>>
>>171003
That article said that even with increased wages and the addition of health insurance nobody wanted those jobs. So why are all these desperate people not flocking to these farms for work?
>>
>>171004
Somebody needs a time out. Now sit here for 5 minutes and don't move from that spot till you calm down.
>>
>>171004

This board is probably too overstimulating for your autistic brain, may I suggest: >>>>/pol/
>>
>>171005
Because increasing your illegal slave fruit picker jobs from 1.5$ an hour to 1.7$ doesn't really count.
If you want to have real people you have to pay real wages.

But you don't want that. You want open borders and an endless supply of slaves.
>>
>>171012
>strawman
>another claim debunked by a google search
Yawn. I'm going back to sleep, it's early here. Keep up the shitposting low IQ retard. Drumpf #1
>>
>>171014
Your post reeks of Judaism it's unbearable. You are disgusting pro slavery scum and you know it.

On that I agree with you. I come from the Northern Valley of California from parents that worked in the walnut and almond orchards. The costs are going up from California not because of labor, but because of the pressure the state has been putting on the growers. For years now the state has been cutting water supplies to the farms in order to save 6 fish and other such stupidity. Migrant workers are a red herring. They are only really relevant in southern California salad fields and vineyards. The rest of the illegals are on welfare or cleaning the elites houses and mowing their lawns.
>>
>>171017
Your posts reek of attempts of an individual desperately trying to be an edge lord and only managing to be a lesser copycat of their betters.
>>
>>171021
You lost. Accept it. The wall will be built and your Mexican slaves will be taken away and there is nothing you can do about it.
>>
>>171023
You're focusing on treating a symptom of a greedy oversubsidized agricultural industry. Instead of cutting huge amounts of tax $$ that just get gifted to dumb iniefficient farmers every year, you propose to outlay million more tax $$ to treat the symptoms of their greed and satisfy your racism concurrently. Typical low IQ retard
>>
>>171027
Importing and abusing millions of illegal mexican slaves is a symptom of too much subsidies?
You gotta explain that one to me.

And yes I agree. The subsidies should be cut and the taxes that pay for these subsidies should be cut too.
>>
>>171023

Connecting more than 2 different ideas seems beyond you and leaves my reply in the firing line of autistic screeching when you can't. I'll let you earn it and work it out yourself. You might even learn something about the greedy American agricultural industry along the way. The wall is a distraction and a complete waste of money for what you want it to achieve
>>
>>171054
>build wall
I don't know the word "build."
>>
>>170919

Do you know why wages have stagnated? Because Democrats opened the borders (for votes) and (Republicans allowed it to happen as it) flooded the market. Supply and demand is a universal law.
>>
>>171158
>Minimum wage remains the same for twenty years.
>Wages have clearly stagnated due to issues unrelated to legislation.

It's been fun, thanks for everything

Stop thinking and living in soundbytes. The immigration problem is far larger and more extensive than you realize and has little (if anything) to do with anyone wanting votes.

Does every platform have to be an econ101ism or a slogan that fits on a bumper sticker to constitute a worthy vision?
Maybe the best platform is one that recognizes nuance and argues for a more balanced approach. Maybe we shouldn't just focus on what grows the pie as fast as possible in the immediate future (while that is a valid consideration), but also how to divide it optimally to improve peoples' quality of life or to produce a foundation for more robust future growth, and protect non-human life too. Because people recognize a free market does many good things but has some shortcomings so on a case-by-case basis we give democratic consent to government actively intervening in the distribution of wealth to an extent.

I was not gonna respond to this bait but, Why would any rational american accept hard labor under baking sun for minimum wage when they can get paid the same working standing or sitting in an air conditioned Mcdonalds or its 100 variants? Use your head. Same pay better conditions, which one are you going to pick? The slave labor will pick the labor because 1. They can barely interact with the local population out of fear of being found or just lack of skills (language, culture etc.). 2. In his culture such labor is what he knows they are literally living in medieval age where a mans value is based on his ability to carry a bag of grain etc. This is why such an increase is negligable.
