The video, which shows a group of white people handing out Coke drinks to Mexican locals, was criticized by activists for stereotyping indigenous people as "culturally and racially subordinate."

I think the issue that people had was with the casting rather than the ad; they asked for white actors and Mexican actors specifically. It would be different if it was some people giving out coke to some people, but to be fair this is rich American kids taking pity on some stereotypical Mexican peasants.

And yet tons of videos get taken down thanks to BS copyright claims.

Thoughts? I'm pretty conflicted on this. On one hand, this is pretty fucked up. Even if no one was physically hurt, this shit could scar a person for life. On the other hand, free speech is free speech.

>Iraq has threatened to go to the UN if Turkey does not withdraw soldiers it sent to areas near the northern Iraqi city of Mosul within 48 hours.
>Baghdad said the deployment was done without consultation and was a violation of national sovereignty.
>Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu defended the move as routine troop rotation at a pre-established camp.
>Mosul has been under the control of militants from the so-called Islamic State group since last year.
>Turkey deployed hundreds of its forces to the town of Bashiqa to train Iraqi Kurdish forces fighting IS.

Why aren't they co-operating? Wouldn't it actually benefit Iraq if Turkey was helping them with the recapture of Mosul? Even if it was just training Kurds.
Also why is Turkey being so dickish recently? they have been flaunting their power quite a bit recently.

The Shiites seem to want Iraq and Syria to devolve into Stans and fear what a coherent and united Sunni-stan would mean for Assad and Iran. To that end they're inclined to want ISIS to stay strong, active internationally, and contained regionally. Iraq's PM is an idiot, it wouldn't have been his idea, but with oil rents as they are his man hole is likely owned by dozens of dirty dicks, and meek as he is, he may as well be their dick puppet.

Just my theory, but why else would sectarian militias get more state support than the army, and the taking of Sinjar warrant a gov attack on the Kurds and tribes.

That would kinda match up with how they just keep delaying the recapture of Mosul, though at the same time it sounds insane that people really want to let ISIS to stay strong no matter the reason.

>Turkey said on Sunday it would halt further transfers of troops to an area near the Islamic State-controlled Iraqi city of Mosul after Baghdad threatened to appeal to the United Nations to force Turkey to withdraw its soldiers.

>Turkey deployed hundreds of forces to a camp in the Bashiqa region of northern Iraq on Thursday, calling it a routine rotation to train Iraqis to retake Mosul from Islamic State, which captured Iraq's second-largest city in 2014.

>Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said his country might turn to the U.N. security council if Turkish troops sent to northern Iraq were not withdrawn within 48 hours.

>He said the deployment of hundreds of Turkish forces happened without the approval or knowledge of the Iraqi government and constituted a violation of national sovereignty.

>Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu wrote a letter to Abadi, saying Turkey's armed forces would not send additional forces until Baghdad's "sensitivities" were placated. He stopped short of agreeing to Abadi's demand to withdraw the soldiers.

inb4 this is incorporated into those wearable watchphones.
>>
>>6674
Might be awesome for diabetics instead of having to carry the needle, the spring loaded thing and the meter, you got an all in one device there. Maybe they can also do it for coumadin patients too instead of having a blood test every month they get a meter that tells them their PTT?
>>
>>6719
You would still have to empty/clean it out since it physically takes your blood. So unless that problem is solved it will probably be limited to some specialist medical wearable equipment.

"The real truth about the Arab world has become obvious over the last few years. The modern Arab state is a dismal failure that did not succeed in convincing its own citizens that it is a better choice than clinging to traditional tribal loyalties and ethnic groups (Arabs, Kurds, etc.), religious groups (Muslim, Christian, Alawite, Druze, etc.) and warring groups within the same religion (Shiite, Sunni, etc.)."

Well nobody here's likely going to be able to read it, but a rule of thumb when assessing whether news is true or not is whether or not you can find corroborating stories from other outlets, especially ones from opposing countries, ideologies etc...

It's propaganda from Best Korea. There's an English version as well.
For more North Korean news, I recommend uriminzokkiri:

They have a Youtube account too where they upload videos of Gim Jeong-eun staring at things or old KPA marching songs.

>Recent satellite images indicate that North Korea is building a new tunnel at its nuclear test site, a respected US think tank has said.

>A report on 38 North, a website run by the US-Korea Institute at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, studied images taken between April and November.

>These appeared to show work in a new area of the Punggye-ri nuclear zone.

>But, the report said, there is no sign that any nuclear test is imminent,

>North Korea carried out three underground nuclear tests at Punggye-ri in 2006, 2009 and 2013. Its nuclear programme has been a source of great concern for the international community.
'Increased capability'

>The tunnel identified in the latest imagery is in a new area of the site, separate from three other tunnels that the North has excavated or used for tests in the past, the report said.

>"While there are no indications that a nuclear test is imminent, the new tunnel adds to North Korea's ability to conduct additional detonations over the coming years if it chooses to do so," it added.

I had thought I read somewhere earlier this year that the Norks had put off weapons testing in favor of satellite and missile test launches. I wonder what caused their policy reversal beyond it just being Dear Leader's whim.

You need a way to deliver the payload to the target, and even after NK did nuke tests everyone laughed at them because they had no effective way to deliver it.

>The Hawaii Board of Land and Natural Resources had issued a building permit for the Thirty Meter Telescope, but had not held a hearing on the issue that would have allowed Hawaiians to contest it, the court ruled. As a result, the Board will have to have a contested case hearing in order to re-issue the permit, and expect Hawaiians to show up in force — they are not happy about a proposal to build a huge telescope on the top of Mauna Kea, which is the highest point in Hawaii.

nope, it has to do with the mountain being the home of some ancient Hawaiian goddess of fire or something like that. The natives are mad that they are building on sacred land.

Poland’s deputy defence minister has said the ministry is considering asking for access to nuclear weapons through a Nato program in which non-nuclear states borrow the arms from the US.

Nuclear sharing is a concept in NATO's policy of nuclear deterrence, which involves member countries without nuclear weapons of their own in the planning for the use of nuclear weapons by NATO, and in particular provides for the armed forces of these countries to be involved in delivering these weapons in the event of their use.
As part of nuclear sharing, the participating countries carry out consultations and take common decisions on nuclear weapons policy, maintain technical equipment required for the use of nuclear weapons (including warplanes capable of delivering them), and store nuclear weapons on their territory. In case of war, the United States told NATO allies the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) would no longer be controlling.

As of November 2009, Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Turkey are still hosting U.S. nuclear weapons as part of NATO's nuclear sharing policy. Canada hosted weapons until 1984, and Greece until 2001.
