The Republican-led Senate on Tuesday ruled out taking action on any nominee put forth by President Barack Obama to the Supreme Court in a political power move intended to thwart his ability to change the court's ideological balance.
Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said the Senate will not hold hearings or vote on any nominee to replace long-serving conservative Justice Antonin Scalia until after the next president takes office next January. Scalia died on Feb. 13
McConnell is a fucking idiot. Now, Dems will not be staying home on election day.

It isn't terribly difficult to buy a server elsewhere to ssh into through tor or what have you.

>President Barack Obama on Tuesday vowed to “once and for all” close the detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and transfer the most detainees to a facility in the U.S., submitting a plan short on specifics and unlikely to make headway with opponents in Congress.
>Obama cast his proposal as a moment to turn the page on a facility that for years has raised nettlesome legal questions, become a recruitment tool for violent extremists and garnered strong opposition from some allies abroad.
>“I don’t want to pass this problem onto the next president, whoever it is,” Obama said, in an appearance at the White House. “If we don’t do what’s required now, I think future generations are going to look back and ask why we failed to act when the right course, the right side of history, and justice and our best American traditions was clear.”

Actor Adam Baldwin quits Twitter over platform's silencing of conservatives

>Twitter BTFO because Adam Baldwin, the least important least well known of the Baldwins, left
....Yeah ok.
Only good baldwin is alec. others are garbage tier
>>25155
I think he means it's "BTFO" because it shows that people are tired of being censored and told what they can or cannot say by some arbitrary moral police. Do I agree with conservatives? No. My opinion would never be silenced because I'm not one of them anyway, but the fact is that I also don't think that their opinions, for whatever reason, should be censored, have to wait a certain period before being seen by others, etc., while other opinions get out there instantly.
It's fundamentally wrong to silence dissent. Because the truth stands on its own merits and people should have the right to create alternative views or dissent. Then again, it's fucking Twitter so anyone expecting a real dialogue of idea is kinda absurd anyway. But just on the principle it's still wrong. Twitter is in their right to do it as they are privately owned, but it's still wrong to only subject certain political and philosophical views to this treatment and not others. I wouldn't like it done to me, so I certainly can't promote it being done to somebody else.
>German Interior Ministry said on Monday it had approved the use of Trojan malware allowing investigators to access computers
>The broadcaster recalled that the use of the computer program goes absolutely in compliance with the acting German legislation, and will be applied to all the federal states of the country.

http://www.newsweek.com/fda-will-begin-testing-food-glyphosate-most-heavily-used-farm-chemical-ever-428790
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration confirmed on Thursday that it would begin testing for residues of the controversial herbicide glyphosate on foods sold in the U.S. for the first time this year. Glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup, is widely sprayed on American farms, and is the most-used agricultural chemical in the world. It has been labeled “probably carcinogenic to humans” by the United Nations’ International Agency for Research on Cancer, though a European food safety agency has disputed those claims.
The FDA says it didn’t test food for glyphosate in the past because the “available methods” would have been “very cost- and labor-intensive to implement.” The FDA’s action comes two years after the U.S. Government Accountability Office chastised the agency in a report for not sufficiently monitoring residues of the chemical on foods.
France has taken steps to limit the sale of Roundup in its stores, and the Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden have also moved to restrict its use in certain cases. Meanwhile, in 2013, the EPA raised tolerance limits for human exposure to glyphosate for certain foods, stating with “reasonable certainty that no harm will result” from human exposure to the chemical.
Monsanto, the manufacturer of Roundup, maintains that the herbicide is safe.
Cool. A good way to stimulate conversation is to include your thoughts on the matter.
>>25025
Uhhh, ok
I use roundup and I hope the food I eat doesn't give me cancer? That's about all I have to say
Thanks
