Whether Obama is planning a visit or not, either way, this whole thing smacks of bad news to me. Look at the state of the States. I'm pretty sure NZ don't need a bunch of corrupt FBI suits strutting about lecturing on homeland security! I'm also pretty sure that the mere presence of FBI in NZ is actually a compromise to the countries security. If NZ is lacking expertise on a subject, there are a whole host of neutral countries they should be 'chatting about security' to, before they let the FBI in to try convince them they know best. They actually do know best because they're the fucking mastermind, but that's another thread. And if Obama is coming, well that's another threat to NZ security. Why parade an association with the worlds most hated country around on the worlds stage?! Fucking bonkers idea. What good will come of him being here?? Oooooh, will we get our MacDonalds cheaper because of some pathetic trade deals. The USA don't give a FUCK about what NZ can do for them, cos let's face it there's not a great deal they can do. The group of Satanists affirmed its mission is “to address the budding conservatism” on campus.
The group hopes to make social activism its primary purpose.

The University of Minnesota-Morris (UMM) “gay devil worshippers” are coming out of the woodwork to combat an alleged uprising of conservative voices on campus, the group announced in a campus-wide email earlier this year.

The group of Satanists affirmed its mission is “to address the budding conservatism” on UMM’s campus, according to a screenshot of the email obtained by Campus Reform.

“I’m looking to start a Satanist group at Morris to address the budding conservatism on this campus—which I find abhorrent,” student Reed Larsen wrote to his fellow classmates. “I’m thinking of calling the group either Gay Devil Worshippers for a Better Future OR Queer Satanists for Change.” The group has since elected to go by the moniker “Gay Devil Worshippers for a Better Future.”

Rather than merely performing its standard Satanic rituals, the group hopes to make social activism its primary purpose.

“I’m hoping the group will have a social justice platform and further such a platform through good ol’ devilish revelry,” Larsen wrote.

According to a student at UMM who wished to remain anonymous, the “budding” conservative groups on campus are not actually budding at all. The few conservative groups on campus, including the school’s gun club, pro-life club, and College Republicans, have around 20 combined members, according to the source.

Despite the best of intentions, the bi-monthly release of fish into Daming Lake in Jinan, Shandong has resulted in an ecological disaster, with upwards of 50 kilograms of dead fish collected from the lake each day.

The lake has become a popular place to perform the traditional Buddhist ritual of fangsheng (放生), whereby animals are rescued from captivity and released back into the natural environment to signify harmony with nature.

Performed on the first and 15th day of each lunar month, residents spend thousands of yuan to purchase live fish and release them into Daming Lake. Approximately 20,000 fish, weighing 5,000 kilograms are released into the lake each month.

Park official Su Jian said some 60 to 70 percent of the fish released into the lake don’t survive because they aren’t indigenous species and cannot adapt to the local environment:

On some days, the amount is close to 100 kilograms. In a month, we collect an average of about 1,500 kilograms of dead fish.


Fish aren’t the only concern. The lake’s lotus fields are being decimated, and the local wildlife is quickly disappearing. Park Director, Yang Junguo, warned of a complete collapse of the lake ecosystem. According to Yang, local wildlife like prawns, rock turtles, and water rats are quickly disappearing, while non-local wildlife like catfish, frogs, and eels are now appearing in greater numbers.

Perhaps most alarming is the emergence of online photos of residents releasing snapping turtles into the lake. Snapping turtles are not indigenous to Daming Lake, and have no known predators in the habitat, only increasing the probability of the ecosystem’s collapse.
Last week local officials started to discourage residents from releasing wildlife into the lake, however the damage at this point seems irreparable.

North Korea claimed Sunday that it could wipe out Manhattan by sending a hydrogen bomb on a ballistic missile to the heart of New York City, the latest in a string of brazen threats.

Although there are many reasons to believe that Kim Jong Un’s regime is exaggerating its technical capabilities, the near-daily drumbeat of boasts and warnings from North Korea underlines its anger at efforts to thwart its ambitions.

“Our hydrogen bomb is much bigger than the one developed by the Soviet Union,” DPRK Today, a state-run outlet, reported Sunday. DPRK stands for the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, North Korea’s official name.

“If this H-bomb were to be mounted on an intercontinental ballistic missile and fall on Manhattan in New York City, all the people there would be killed immediately and the city would burn down to ashes,” the report said, citing a nuclear scientist named Cho Hyong Il.
