>Zhou Tie, the head engineer of the Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum, said that during a recent excavation, the archaeological team learned the general structure of the mausoleum and a large number of pits were discovered. More than 400 pits were found in the mausoleum and dozens of small pits and tombs were found around the site.

Sinologist here that shit is old as fuck. They even deducted a peasant revolt or raid on the tomb from the state of the stone armors and the burial sites that show the structures around them were at some point torched and many of some of the sets damaged by the collapsing buildings.
The armors are believed to be an inclusion of the fallen whos bodies were beyond recognition as the rest got a lifesize statue made of them. Look close and you will see they are all unique and the weapons they carried were the actual arms used in battle.

You might not know his name but you undoubtedly know his famous sandwich, and many of us remember singing its ingredients along with a commercial in the 1970s: "Two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun."

Michael "Jim" Delligatti, the McDonald's franchisee who created the Big Mac, died Monday. He was 98.

Delligatti was one of McDonald's earliest franchise holders, opening his first restaurant in Pittsburgh in 1957. He eventually owned and operated 47 additional McDonald's locations in Western Pennsylvania, making him one of the single largest franchise holders in company history.

The menu was pretty simple back in those early days — hamburgers, cheeseburgers, fries and shakes. But Delligatti saw that his customers wanted something bigger, so in 1967 at his restaurant in Uniontown, Pa., he put together two hamburger patties, topped it with cheese, lettuce, onions and pickles, and he developed a special sauce for the burger. He called it the Big Mac.

In a 1993 interview with the Associated Press, he said McDonald's initially rejected the burger.

"I tried for two years to have McDonald's let me try to make this Big Mac and they said no," Delligatti said, adding, "They figured, why go to something else if [the original menu] was working so well?"

So Delligatti made and sold Big Macs in his Pittsburgh-area restaurants, experimenting with the special sauce along the way, until eventually, McDonald's executives came around and began selling the Big Mac nationally. Now, almost 50 years later, the Big Mac is sold in more than 100 countries and has become the most popular sandwich on the planet, according to the fast-food chain.

An obituary put out by his family notes that Delligatti was a true innovator in the fast-food industry, instrumental in introducing breakfast at McDonald's, making the hotcakes and sausage meals for hungry millworkers on their way home from overnight shifts in the steel mills.

Delligatti co-founded Pittsburgh's Ronald McDonald House and supported many other charities in Western Pennsylvania. He also served in the Army in World War II.

"Jim was a legendary franchisee within McDonald's system who made a lasting impression on our brand," reads a statement from McDonald's corporate headquarters. "He is an exemplary individual who embraced the community and championed many causes and organizations that benefitted children. We will remember Jim as an insightful franchisee, a knowledgeable businessman, and an honorable gentleman."

The Korean Air passenger who got into a fight with a flight attendant on board a plane bound for Guam from Seoul, South Korea was sentenced to 28 months and nine days in federal prison on Tuesday.

Chief Judge Frances Tydingco-Gatewood’s punishment for passenger Kwon Woo Sung is a total of 36 months, including the past seven months he served under house arrest and in federal detainment. This leaves 28 months and nine days left on his sentence.

Kwon, a dentist in South Korea, pleaded guilty to interfering with flight crew members and attendants. He was headed to Guam in April for vacation and ordered five beers in a 35-minute span before the crew decided not to serve him any more alcohol, according to court documents.

After he smoked a cigarette in the plane restroom and admitted to it, he asked for another beer but was denied. Kwon then became angry and fought with the flight attendant, documents state. About five passengers had to help restrain him for about an hour until they landed in Guam.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/business/2016/11/29/kellogg-join-others-removing-advertising-breitbart/94619068/

>Kellogg, the food manufacturer that owns Pringles and Pop-Tarts, confirmed Tuesday that it will discontinue advertising on Breitbart.com, the far-right news and commentary site that was formerly run by a top aide of President-elect Donald Trump, Steve Bannon.

>The site has come under fire on social media in recent days as consumers, angered at what they say is its racist, sexist and anti-Semitic content, publicly name its advertisers. Bannon worked as executive chairman of Breitbart News until he left to run Trump's campaign. He was scheduled to return to Breitbart, but earlier this month, Trump named Bannon his chief strategist, stirring more of the site's critics to call out its content and appeal to its advertisers.

>"We regularly work with our media buying partners to ensure our ads do not appear on sites that aren't aligned with our values as a company," Kellogg spokesperson Kris Charles in a statement. "This involves reviewing websites where ads could potentially be placed using filtering technology to assess site content. As you can imagine, there is a very large volume of websites, so occasionally something is inadvertently missed. In this case, we learned from consumers that ads were placed on Breitbart.com and decided to discontinue advertising there."

>Breitbart News couldn't be reached for comment. But in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Bannon has claimed that he was not a White nationalist, as many liberals assert. "I’m not a white nationalist, I’m a nationalist. I’m an economic nationalist,” Bannon said.

>Other companies have already said on Twitter that they will stop advertising on Breitbart. They include pharmaceutical manufacturer Novo Nordisk, eyeglasses maker Warby Parker and the San Diego Zoo.

DEVELOPING: An active shooter was reported on the campus of the Ohio State University campus Monday, the school said.

"Run Hide Fight," the school tweeted at 9:56 a.m.

Campus police tweeted the same alert, and wrote in another tweet, “Continue to shelter in place. Avoid area of College.”

There was no immediate word on whether a shooting had taken place or if there were any injuries. The school's newspaper, The Lantern, indicated in a tweet that someone was down.

"There's at least one body bag present in front of Koffolt Labs," read the tweet. "OSU police still advising to take shelter. Situation not under control."

The sprawling, 58,000-student main campus in downtown Columbus is one of the nation's largest.

>KATHMANDU, Nepal — Nepal’s government proposed amending its new constitution to carve out a new state to meet the demands of an ethnic group whose protests for bigger federal state last year left more than 50 people dead.

>The government registered the bill in parliament late Tuesday that proposes a second state in southern Nepal where there is large presence of Madhesi ethnic community.

>Hridesh Tripati of the Terai Madhes Democratic Party said Wednesday it was welcome progress but still inadequate.

>“It is one step forward and a good progress but it is still not enough. This new proposal does not cover the districts we have been demanding to be included in Madhesi state,” Tripati said, adding an alliance of Madhesi parties would meet to decide if it was going to accept and support the government initiative.

>The Madhesi ethnic groups are unhappy with the constitution that was adopted last year in parliament. They were dissatisfied with the territory assigned to them in the new federal states in the constitution.

>Saudi king allocates 100 billion riyals from reserves to public investment fund

>Saudi Arabia's King Salman approved the allocation of 100 billion riyals ($26.67 billion) from the kingdom's reserves to the Public Investment Fund (PIF) on Wednesday, according to a statement carried by state news agency SPA.

>The funds would be used to support both foreign and local investments, particularly opportunities in the local market that would help to build the private sector, the statement said.

>It did not elaborate on a timeline for the investments, but said they would be phased.

>Under economic reforms announced early this year, the Saudi government said it aims to expand the PIF, founded in 1971 to finance development projects in the country, from $160 billion to about $2 trillion by transferring assets such as ownership of state oil giant Saudi Aramco.

>That would make the PIF the world's biggest sovereign fund by far on paper, though not necessarily in terms of the cash it had available for investment.

>The fund will increase investments abroad - in June, it bought a stake in U.S. ride-hailing firm Uber for $3.5 billion - but it will still focus much of its attention on local projects designed to reduce Saudi Arabia's reliance on oil exports.

>On Monday, the fund announced plans to buy a major stake in Adeptio, the Gulf-based investment firm which controls Kuwait Food Co (Americana).

>It is also set to take over a stalled financial district project in Riyadh and to buy a stake in the King Abdullah Economic City north of Jeddah.

http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2016/11/29/dallas-based-journalist-anonymous-hacktivist-released-from-federal-prison/

>Dallas-born investigative journalist Barrett Brown was released from federal prison Tuesday morning after spending more than four years behind bars.

>Barret The 35-year-old was sentenced to prison for threatening an FBI agent and helping share stolen data, marking the end of a criminal case criticized by free-speech advocates. He originally faced charges that carried more than 100 years in prison, but Brown pleaded guilty to greatly reduced charges: transmitting threats, aiding hackers and obstructing authorities from carrying out a search warrant. Supporters say Brown, was targeted by the federal government after sharing data hacked from the Austin-based defense contractor Stratfor.

>Former National Security Agency subcontractor Edward Snowden tweeted his reaction to Brown’s new found freedom.

>WikiLeaks also acknowledged Barrett’s release with a celebratory tweet and by publishing a searchable archive of more than 60,000 HBGary emails, which Barrett’s Project PM was investigating before he was arrested. Project PM is a crowdsourced investigation focused on research and analysis of leaked documents.

>Brown was often quoted on the workings of Anonymous, a shadowy group of hackers that has staged several high-profile attacks on governments and businesses all over the world. He courted attention on the Internet with provocative tweets and YouTube videos – including a live chat he conducted while taking a bubble bath.

>But some of those posts also landed him in trouble, including one in which he threatened an FBI agent that resulted in his arrest in September 2012. In the video [see below], Brown threatened the FBI agent by name, promising to “ruin his life and look into his (expletive) kids.” Three separate indictments followed, carrying a maximum sentence of more than century in prison.
