http://nypost.com/2016/12/05/report-buried-trump-related-hate-crimes-against-white-kids/

>At least 2,000 educators around the country reported racist slurs and other derogatory language leveled against white students in the first days after Donald Trump was elected president. But the group that surveyed the teachers didn’t publish the results in its report on Trump-related “hate crimes.”

>The Southern Poverty Law Center partnered with the American Federation of Teachers, which formally endorsed Hillary Clinton, to circulate the questionnaire among its 1.6 million mostly Democratic members. The survey was sent out to K-12 teachers and administrators who subscribe to its “Teaching Tolerance” newsletter.

>The SPLC’s widely cited report — “The Trump Effect: The Impact of the 2016 Presidential Election on Our Nation’s Schools” — reported that 40 percent of the more than 10,000 educators who responded to the survey “have heard derogatory language directed at students of color, Muslims, immigrants and people based on gender or sexual orientation.”

So anti-white is now the norm on the Left. How the fuck did we get to this /news/?

Iman Ahmad Abdulati, 26 - who tips the scales at over half a tonne (over 78.7 stone) – is to fly to India from her home in Alexandria, Egypt, after one of the world's leading bariatric surgeons volunteered to treat her.

But Iman's op was almost grounded before it began after immigration officials at India's embassy in Cairo refused to believe she was too big to visit to make her visa application.

Indian law requires visa applicants allow immigration police to take their fingerprints.

They only backed down when surgeon Dr Muffazzal Lakdawala used Twitter to contact India's External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to ask for help.

His tweet read: "Ma'am, Eman Ahmed (Egypt) 500kgs requested me 2 save her pls help me get her a medical visa as refused thru normal process @SushmaSwaraj"

He explained later: "Iman can’t move because of her condition, and due to her weight, it is near impossible to move her."

He added: "But the Indian Embassy in Cairo wasn’t ready to accept it.

"The officers thought that the family was bluffing and kept asking the family members to bring Iman to the embassy to scan her fingerprint.

"They didn’t pay any heed to the family’s requests and, as a result, Iman’s visa was rejected."

The Minister replied to the doctor’s tweet immediately and the visa request was granted and everything could go forward. She said: "Thanks for bringing this to my notice. We will definitely help her."

Now, however, the medic is struggling with the mammoth problem of getting Iman to Mumbai this week for a series of ops that could last a year.

He told local media he plans to - at first - use a bariatric balloon to fill up part of Iman's digestive tract.

The doctor reckons she could lose as much as 400 kilogrammes (62 stone) in two years.

He said: "Due to her heavy weight, we can’t bring her in a normal plane, so we are trying to arrange a private chartered flight instead."

The plane will have to be refitted with a reinforced bed because Iman's weight makes it impossible for her to sit upright in a chair.

At home, she relies on her mother and sister Chaymaa Abdulati to help her with everyday tasks like eating, getting dressed, washing and going to the bathroom.

Her family says she was born weighing five kilogrammes (11lbs) and diagnosed with elephantiasis – a parasitic infection that causes extreme swelling in a sufferer's limbs and arms.

A cerebral stroke aged 11 left her bedridden.

And – unable to support her ballooning weight – Iman became a prisoner in her own home where her weight continued to grow massively.

But Dr Lakdawala stressed how dangerous the operations could be for her - and how life threatening doing nothing might be.

He said: "Her life is at risk. She is a living time bomb.

"We have to take special precautions in this case to ensure there are no problems in the lung or the risk of a blood clot."

>A secret U.S. military investigation in 2010 determined that Michael T. Flynn, the retired Army general tapped to serve as national security adviser in the Trump White House, “inappropriately shared” classified information with foreign military officers in Afghanistan, newly released documents show.

>Although Flynn lacked authorization to share the classified material, he was not disciplined or reprimanded after the investigation concluded that he did not act “knowingly” and that “there was no actual or potential damage to national security as a result,” according to Army records obtained by The Washington Post under the Freedom of Information Act.

>Flynn has previously acknowledged that he was investigated while serving as the U.S. military intelligence chief in Afghanistan for sharing secrets with British and Australian allies there. But he has dismissed the case as insignificant and has given few details.

>The Army documents provide the first official account of the case, but they are limited in scope because the investigation itself remains classified. Former U.S. officials familiar with the matter said that Flynn was accused of telling allies about the activities of other agencies in Afghanistan, including the CIA.

That may be true, but a national security advisor can't be giving out sensitive information to people without proper clearance, that goes against the very idea of national security. Doesn't seem like this guy would be a good cut for that position, but then again everyone in trumps cabinet is either retarded or has their own agenda that goes directly against the purpose of their position.

Historians have unveiled a digitally-reconstructed image of the face of Robert the Bruce almost 700 years after his death.
The image has been produced using casts from what is believed to be the skull of the famous Scottish king.
It is the culmination of a two-year research project by researchers at universities in Glasgow and Liverpool.
Until now, portraits and statues of the victor of Bannockburn have relied on artists' imaginations.
With no contemporary artworks to tell us what King Robert actually looked like, historians at the University of Glasgow teamed up with Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) to provide an accurate representation.

Its Face Lab specialises in recreating likenesses from legal and archaeological evidence - most famously, the face of the English king, Richard the Third.
Robert the Bruce is best remembered for his victory over the English army at the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314.
Project leader Dr Martin Macgregor, a senior lecturer in Scottish history at Glasgow University, said he was arguably the most significant figure in the nation's story.

When he took the throne in 1306 Scotland was in a parlous state, he said.
"Edward I had decreed that henceforth Scotland was to be described as a land rather than a kingdom.
"I don't think it's going too far to say that unless Bruce had succeeded in that endeavour, we might not be sitting here today talking about a Scotland."

Glasgow University's Hunterian Museum holds the 200-year old cast, made from a skull unearthed when Bruce's burial place, Dunfermline Abbey was being rebuilt.
Although they cannot be certain, historians are reasonably confident it is his skull.

Gilded tomb
Bruce's opulent tomb, imported from Paris and decorated with black and white marble and elaborate gilding, was destroyed during the Reformation.
In the early 19th Century, buried deep beneath the abbey, excavators found fragments of black and white marble, some of it gilded.

http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-38242781

>>
Below that they discovered a lead-lined coffin containing human remains which included the skull. Those remains were reinterred, but not before a cast had been made.
Two centuries later, the latest digital technology was used rebuild the King's face.
This part of the project was overseen by the craniofacial identification expert Prof Caroline Wilkinson, director of LJMU's Face Lab, in a project that took two years to complete.
"Using the skull cast, we could accurately establish the muscle formation from the positions of the skull bones to determine the shape and structure of the face," she explained.

What the archaeological evidence did not show was the colour of the King's eyes and hair.
He is said to have been ill prior to his death in 1329, with some accounts suggesting he had leprosy.
For his skin tones, Prof Wilkinson said they produced two versions; one without leprosy and one with a mild representation of leprosy.
"He may have had leprosy, but if he did it is likely that it did not manifest strongly on his face, as this is not documented."
'Sense of character'
>>
Dr Macgregor said: "There is a real sense of character in this face.
"Bruce must have been a remarkable man. All of his achievements suggest this to us.
"There must have been tremendous strength of purpose in this individual as well as many other human virtues - flaws as well."
Dr Macgregor said historians should remain cautious about the identity of the skull. More than one Scottish monarch was buried at Dunfermline.
But Prof David Gaimster, the director of the Hunterian, is confident the face is that of the famous king.
"The combination of these magnificent gilded marble fragments and the skeleton itself, the lead wrapping, the depth of the tomb, the location," he said
"All of this information begins to build a high level of probability that this was in fact the tomb of Robert the Bruce."
With Richard the Third there was DNA evidence too but achieving similar confirmation would be problematic.
There exists only one fragment from Dunfermline Abbey which might yield a DNA sample.
But trying to extract the DNA would mean destroying that tiny piece of bone.
There is a well-established principle in such circumstances: leave it. Future generations may find a better way.
It also means that, for all our technological advances, Scotland's hero king will retain some of his mystery for a little longer.

Are we looking at the beginning of an “African Spring” along the lines of what happened in the MidEast?

If so, what will happen? Will it be a disaster as in the MidEast or will African nations successfully implement free political systems?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gambian_presidential_election,_2016

The Gambian presidential election of 2016 was held on 1 December 2016. In a surprise result, opposition candidate Adama Barrow defeated long-term incumbent Yahya Jammeh. The election marks the first change of presidency in The Gambia since a military coup in 1994, and the first transfer of power by popular election since independence from Britain in 1965.

Before the final results were announced, Jammeh graciously conceded defeat, shocking a populace that had expected him to retain power. BBC News called it "one of the biggest election upsets West Africa has ever seen".

Opposition supporters widely celebrated the surprise victory, and were stunned by Jammeh's concession of defeat. Thousands of people celebrated in the streets of Banjul, the capital city. However, some expressed caution about what Jammeh might do next – suggesting that he could still try to retain power despite what had happened. A businessman said "I will only believe it when I see him leaving state house. He still controls the army, and his family are the top brass."

BBC Africa correspondent Alastair Leithead said that elections that displace incumbent presidents are unusual in Africa, but pointed to the 2015 unseating of Goodluck Jonathan by Muhammadu Buhari in Nigeria as another recent example to show that it may be becoming a more popular phenomenon in West Africa.

In, AllAfrica, David E. Kiwuwa of Princeton University noted that José Eduardo dos Santos had also announced that he would not seek reelection in 2017 after being president of Angola for 44 years. However, Kiwuwa also noted that other longstanding leaders remained in power – with Pierre Nkurunziza obtaining a third term in office after a decade as president of Burundi, Joseph Kabila extending his tenure in the Democratic Republic of the Congo beyond 16 years, and Robert Mugabe (at age 92) still in power in Zimbabwe after 29 years.

Interviewed shortly after the election, Barrow thanked the Gambian people, including those in the diaspora outside of the country, and appealed to them to put aside their differences and work together for the development of their country. He said "I know Gambians are in hurry but not everything is going to be achieved in one day. I would therefore appeal to all Gambians and friends of the Gambia to join us and help move this great country forward. I don't want this change of regime to be a mere change. I want it to be felt and seen in the wellbeing of the country and all Gambians. So we are calling on all Gambians and friends of the Gambia to help us make the Gambia great again."

Barrow said his early priorities will include helping the agriculture sector. He said "We don't have minerals here. The backbone of this country is agriculture. ... Under President Yahya's government, all those farming centres collapsed completely, and they no longer exist." Asked about his plans for judicial reform, he said "We want a free and independent judiciary whereby nobody can influence the judiciary. We will put laws in place to protect those people running the judiciary. They will have that job security, they will have that independence. We will reduce the powers of the president."

Not news.

On November 30, the House of Representatives has ratified "H.R. 6393, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017" with 390 votes for, sponsored by "California Republican" Devin Nunes whose third largest donor in 2016 is Google parent Alphabet, Inc

The text of this Patriot Act 2 - Electric Boogaloo is readable here:

https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/114/hr6393/text

A quick skim of the text reveals "Title V—Matters relating to foreign countries", whose Section 501 calls for the government to "counter active measures by Russia to exert covert influence … carried out in coordination with, or at the behest of, political leaders or the security services of the Russian Federation and the role of the Russian Federation has been hidden or not acknowledged publicly.”

Definitions include "media manipulation, covert broadcasting, disinformation and forgeries, and funding agents of influence".

The bill was introduced on November 22, two days before the Washington Post published its infamous Nov. 24 article citing "experts" who claim Russian propaganda helped Donald Trump get elected.

This law, if passed by the Senate and signed by the president, could be used to target, threaten, or eliminate so-called “fake news” websites, a list which has been used to arbitrarily define any website, or blog, that does not share the mainstream media's proclivity to serve as the Public Relations arm of a given administration.

>Three quarters of so-called child asylum seekers in made to undergo medical tests to prove their age in Denmark have been found to be adults.

>The Danish Immigration Service (DIS) suspected 800 migrants were lying about their age and asked the University of Copenhagen's Department of Forensic Medicine to run checks on them.

>And having carried out tests involving x-rays of their teeth and bones, it was revealed 600 of the refugees involved were actually adults.

Is it any wonder then that Labour in the UK were so desperate to avoid age testing on Calais "child migrants"? Leftists don't care about laws, they only care about ensuring a demographic transition in Western Europe by any means necessary.

Wrong, explanation is far too contrived. It's much simpler than that, humans like to feel like they are morally good. The mainstream left in the last few decades has felt the need to maintain this moral superiority. This means there is only one way forward for them. More 'open', more 'multi-culturalism' etc irrespective of its practical effects.

I say this as an atypical lefty. The left project is stunted by it's need to feel morally superior. It's natural for humans to each to believe that they are good, and cognitive dissonance caused by difference between what is practical and maintaining that moral high ground is what drives them to oppose checks like in the article like the brain-dead idiots most have become.

>The Wynn Las Vegas hotel is adding an Amazon Echo to every one of its 4,748 rooms. A first for a hotel to do and a great way to market both the hotel and the Echo device.

>However, it also means, should you stay there, you’ll have a built-in surveillance device listening in on all your conversations whenever you are in the room. Call me crazy but there might be a few guests who don’t want Amazon listening in on their wild Vegas weekend.

>The irony is sweet, given Wynn Resorts Steve Wynn’s press statement on why he chose to add an Echo to every room:

>“If I have ever seen anything in my 49 years of developing resorts that has made our job of delivering a perfect experience to our guests easier and help us get to another level, it is Alexa. The ability to talk to your room is effortlessly convenient,” Wynn stated.

>But with all that chatter comes Alexa’s ability to upload what you are saying to the cloud. Echo has a listening component that is activated simply by speaking out loud, making it the perfect spy device — not only for Amazon marketing purposes but also for hackers and the government to get information about you without your permission.

What’s Next for Haim Saban, the Democrats’ Top Pro-Israel Donor After Election Loss?

“I used to have a standing as a cartoon schlepper, now I’m only a former cartoon schlepper.”

This is how media mogul Haim Saban chose to describe himself when interviewing Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu Sunday afternoon. Needless to say, the self-deprecating description has little to do with reality.

The Israeli-American billionaire is one of Hillary and Bill Clinton’s largest and closest donors. So close he got to spend the night at the Lincoln bedroom in the White House when Bill was president. So close that he could pick up the phone and tell the presidential candidate to stop shouting after listening to her speeches on the campaign trail.

Over the weekend, Saban hosted in Washington the 13th annual policy conference carrying his name. The Saban Forum is a mostly closed-doored gathering where Israeli and American politicians, policymakers and opinion leaders get an opportunity to discuss the region’s future while schmoozing at a fancy hotel, a block from the White House. For Saban, this year should have been special - a chance for the man closest to the next president to usher in a new era of influence at the highest echelons of power.

Instead, the meeting took a somber tone. From the empty seats during the conference’s closing session, to the unmistakably disappointed tone used by Secretary of State John Kerry when discussing the future of the Middle East peace process. The Clintons, who had hardly ever missed a Saban gathering, were nowhere to be found.

“This could have been such a great celebration,” said a participant who has known Saban for many years. “Haim could have played a huge role on pro-Israel issues if Hillary won.”

His access to Clinton seems unparalleled. Wikileaks hack of Clinton’s campaign chairman’s emails reveals how Saban communicated directly with the candidate and her top advisers, providing his input on issues relating to Israel and to the Latino community (Saban is chairman of Univision, the largest Spanish language TV network in America.) Clinton and her advisers, the emails suggested, always responded, mostly positively, to Saban’s suggestions.

In the new reality facing Democrats, Saban, who has famously said he is a “one issue person and that issue is Israel,” has already found himself a new cause within the party. He is now determined to prevent the election of Keith Ellison to chair of the Democratic National Committee, an appointment Saban fears would signal a Democratic shift away from its pro-Israel stance.

cont.
>>
>>91303

“If you go back to his positions, his papers, his speeches, the way he has voted, he is clearly an anti-Semite, anti-Israel individual,” Saban said Friday night, offering his views during a question and answer session with Israeli defense minister Avigdor Lieberman. “Words matter and actions matter more. Keith Ellison would be a disaster for the relationship between the Jewish community and the Democratic Party.”

The comment may give some indication of Saban’s future role in Democratic politics. After more than two decades in which his involvement was based primarily on supporting Bill and Hillary Clinton, Saban may go back to focusing on his prime cause in politics - backing Democrats who share his pro-Israel positions and opposing those who do not.

Hawkish on issues relating to Israel’s security but an ardent supporter of a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Saban could easily see during the weekend conference how his causes are under threat from both sides of the map. In his own political home, the Democratic Party, debate over Ellison’s views on Israel has raised once again the possibility that progressive Democrats, less committed to automatic support of Israel, will gain power and shape the party. And on the Republican side, hints being thrown out by the incoming president and his advisers have also been a source of concern to supporters of an American push for resolving the conflict. In one of the closed-door sessions at the Saban Forum, an adviser to Trump refused to fully embrace the two-state solution or to accept that it was the only option for resolving the conflict, according to two participants who attended the meeting.

cont.
>>
>>91304

Saban has proven his ability to adjust to political realities in the past. He was initially skeptical about President Obama’s approach to Israel, but eventually warmed up to him and contributed generously to Obama’s 2012 reelection campaign.

A person in close contact with Saban said the Los Angeles-based billionaire is not thinking yet of a new candidate he’d support for the 2020 election. “His only goal is to make sure the party stays pro-Israel,” he said.
