Both would be 1x11.
If you were not concerned about the extra cost of the DI2, would you choose that or stay with SRAM Force?
Why? Why Not?

TIA.

Cost is a huge deal, but if money is no object why on earth would you not pick DI2? DI2's competitor isn't Force, it's Etap.

I just wasn't sure if I should pay the extra $400 for DI2. This is only my second season doing CX and I am upgrading bikes and this was an option.
TCX Pro Adv 1 vs SuperX DI2.
I was going to go with the TCX as I have a Giant now, and the colour is the same as our team kits. Gay, yes, I know. The SuperX looks rad as fuck and has better wheels and the Di2.
Suck it up and get Cannondale then, right?

Or...

No.
Only looking at Force and di2, as those are the ones I can get the deal on.
>>
>>1103894
For $400 I'd get the TCX.
>>
>>1103898
Whoops, meant get the SuperX.
>>
>>1103896
does anyone use alfine for cx?
>>
>>1103892
Consider this:
If something in Di2 goes bad on you and you have to replace it, can you afford it? If no then stay with something purely mechanical.

That's what prevents me from even considering Di2 or anything like it. The initial outlay of money for the complete component group is only part of the equation. Derailleurs wear out and have to be replaced, and in Di2 they're not cheap.
>>
>>1103892
anything beyond 105 is wasting money.
>>
>>1103920
I have a buddy that did. He is selling his right now. He liked it, but moved to etap.
>>

>As a shop tech

This, many times this. Also don't use any wax based lubes on it...
>>
>>1103963
Right now, yes... in a few years when my company goes tits up, who knows?
There is also the wheelsets. The SuperX has that on lock too.
We're talking $400 difference (my cost) on the two bikes that retail for $3700 for the Giant and $4999 for the Cannondale.

I'm honestly only hung up on the Giant because the stupid fucking colour matches our stupid fucking kits.
>>
>>1103972
That's what I ride now, and don't have any issues with it. In fact, I love that bike - I just want to move to a Carbon bike now. With the rest of the upgrades you get from buying above 105, and for my cost - it seems worth doing. I never felt wanting whilst racing, or looking for faster or better shifting.
Riding a 1x will be a new experience for sure.
>>
Di2 all the way. But don't do full ultegra, anon. Go with an XT derailleur, it meshes perfectly with any Di2 shifters, can handle a wide range cassette and has a clutch.
>>
ultegra is shadow now right? That makes a rd far less vulnerable
>>
>>1103976
Looks like that is exactly what the SuperX comes with.
>REAR COGS
>Shimano 105, 11-32, 11-speed
>REAR DERAILLEUR
>Shimano XT Di2

why the fuck are you using a roadie drivetrain for cross?

get eagle you mong.

actually get GX Eagle because you're gonna fucking break it anyhow.
>>
>>1103977
The low profile is nice, but they haven't yet incorporated the Shadow Plus clutch system that makes their MTB stuff so damn good.
>>
>>1103981
Hang on, let me check and see if anyone in CX uses that...

I wouldn't use shimano for off road.

How is a drivetrain intended for primarily urban and commuting use "fredly", good anon?

If you think GX Eagle is in the pro cyclocross ranks, you're nuts. Sorry, anon.
>>
>>1104160
>2015
GX Eagle wasn't out then, I think even X01/XX1 didn't come out until 2016. Also no-one was talking about or mentioned pros, I would imagine there are a few people out there with Eagle on a CX bike.
>>
>>1104163
I think i'll stick to what the pros use though.
Thanks.

you don't have legs to use what the pros use. thats why you're NOT PRO. you're a fucking cat5 poseur trying to run a 38/48 into an 11-28 up a shitslick cx course and making no progress because you copped the most expensive fred drivetrain you could instead of buying equipment that suits your experience and fitness level, which would be a 36 into a 10-50 that would allow you to churn up that shitty course and probably even podium because you had the gears for it.

50 bux says you buy ulty di2 and drop it for sscx in 2 seasons tops because 'sscx is more real'
>>
>>1104247
Isn't the whole point of CX you get off the bike and run when the shit gets too gnarly
>>
Ya and when the experienced cyclists wiz past you you will look foolish. Personally I would get a 42 chainring for 1x CX
>>
>>1104258
cutting time between dismount and remount or eliminating dismounts altogether in some sections.

>>1104261
you were going to get smoked by those guys regardless because you're not on that level yet.
>>
>>1104247
Oh, I guess that's why all the CAT 5 and 4 roadies are all on Grip Shifter 3x8 Sora components and Aluminum frames?
>>
>>1104247
Already have the SSCX. Why are you so angry?
>>
>>1103893
That picture made me so sad.
>>
10-speed SRAM MTB derailleurs (x5, x9, etc) have the same pull ratio as SRAM 11-speed road components - no need for wifly, and you can find the high-end ones on eBay cheap enough. Also, the cable entry routing is tidier than on the road stuff, so you save a few grams there.
