Hey y'all again.
I'm starting a new thread about y'all what newbuild steam locomotives which are all but extinct would all of y'all /n/iggers like to see.
>1088280 old thread is very much close to 404ing.
I'd like to see a newbuild Hawthorn Leslie 2-4-0 like Northiam here.
>>1097400
Surely new build should concentrate on locos types that never made it into preservation? Hawthornes exist.
>>1097652
You could build some obscure something-or-other if you have cash burning a hole in your pocket.
You could also re-engineer a classic.

y'all lame affectation is fucking cringeworthy
>>1097652
That's true but these 2-4-0s which ran on the Kent And East Sussex Railway and Weston Clevedon And Portishead Light Railway never made into preservation though.
>>1097662
Bite me.
>>1097400
I prefer the superior version
>>1098273
Err, Gladstone is basically Northiam with a tall chimney.
>>1098410
Exactly
>>1098273
Any reason they made the chimney so huge? As that would really restrict route availability obviously, so surely there must've been a trade-off.
>>1098441
And I have not seen this movie in such a long time..
>>1098456
I don't know...Unless it was for artistic licenses..
GER A55 pls.
Because fuck bridges.
>>1099416
I've heard about this locomotive plenty of times.
Did whoever design this get the idea from the States?
>>1099424
Not sure about any U.S. influence, although it was designed to beat electric trams and such, so it actually has very good acceleration.
>>1099443
Ah, thanks for the info.
Yet personally I'd like to see a GWR 517 Class.
Why I mentioned the US influence is because US tank engines look big and stocky like the A55 here, now thinking of it now it may not have no US influence at all.
>>1099450
I'm not sure to be honest, although it would be a change having the Americans influence our designs!
Although pic related has actually survived into preservation, the world needs more Western engines.
>>1099454
I see.
Isn't 1361 at the Didcot Railway Centre?
>>1099467
Yeah, it's the only surviving member of the class.
>>1099611
I may have seen it when I was there.
I did want to see Lady Of Legend but I couldn't because obviously it was in the engine shed.
I'm still waiting on Betton Grange...
>>1101347
Here is Bettton Grange at Tyseley.
The tender is from another locomotive.
How bout some non-UK engines
Forget UP 4000s, let's have this thing
>>1101701
Just waiting on that and I'm sure that was on the last thread.
>>1101702
USRA like this?
Forgive me I don't know much about US railroading.
>>1101723
Well the one I posted was the successful version of 2-10-10-2....one of the most powerful (in terms of tractive effort, not HP) steam locos ever. They also had the biggest cylinders (Low pressure were 48" wide!) and the widest boiler (118.5" at the widest point) on any steam loco.
>>1101744
Ah, thanks for the info.
