Hi guys, i want to buy my first full sus bike for mountain biking. I'm considering the Canyon Strive ( 4.0 Race, since it's the cheapest of them, still costs 2600 €). I want to ride it on the trails and offroad it at random locations in my country, so not just the well maintained trails, but maybe do some sort of mountain exploring like thingy, it's my hobby to just ride in the wilderness with my friends and just go around there, 'till we find our way back.
Question is, is the Strive a good choice for me? I've also considered Merida products, like the One-Twenty/Forty/Sixty series, but found the Strive a better option.
Also, are there any more considerable full suspension, Entry-enduro bikes for/under 2600 €i should consider?

Suspension is a meme. Unless you are racing you don't need it. Fat soft tires is all you need
>>1039444
I know suspension is not essential, but a nice convinience feauture. I want to buy an entry-level Enduro bike for a reason: as i said, there are days when i ride 6-7 hours off-road, uphill and downhill, jumps, etc. I want to upgrade from my Hardtail. Also, i totally respect your comment, i'm not saying full suspension is better or anything, i just hope it'll smoothen my ride a bit
there is literally a thread for this
So I'm planning on buying a bike but it's got roller brakes instead of V brakes which I've used all my cycling life.
I cycle 8-10 miles daily mostly by road or sidewalk though I sometimes go via the canal. Inclines and declines aren't unreasonable
Am I in for a completely different experience with the roller brake? For the better or for the worse or possibly even unchanged
dude, to be honest , only shit bikes have roller brakes.
they won't kill you and the bike is probably absolutly suitable for what you're going to do, but you could probably get a better bike for the same price
>>1038986
Well I wanted a Dutch style bike (single or three speed) and I have no interest in fixies. Braking system for these kinds of bike seem to be coaster, roller or drum. With V brakes being rather rare from my searches and Drum brakes being only on the more pricier options. I've no interest in a coaster brake or going fixed
>>1038988
as I said , they are fine.
and the dutch bike you want to get is probably quite fine for it's intended use.
they are super heavy tough, usualy and the geometry is arguable.
that's what I meant.
you could probably get a "decent" bike and it probably won't have coaster breaks.
but there is nothing wrong with getting a dutch style bike.
if you're up for alternatives you could hit the bbg.
although it's a meme , rigid 90s mtb do have theire merits.
but again , the bike you chose probably will serve you well enough , roller brakes or not.
Can you guess which bike model is this by the picture?
Auto-Bump
Why dose it look so much like a Walmart piece of shit? That paint is horrendous.
>>1038883
Orbea it's pretty nice but that bike looks like their low tier models.
This covers everything known with a track gauge of 12 inches (300 mm) or higher. All rankings are based on the number of working steam locomotives on its roster, length of the line it uses, and other things.
Summary: USA and UK are pretty even in scores, but when broken down by subnational entity (state, kingdom, province, etc.), England bends all the others over a barrel and rapes them repeatedly.

Only English speaking countries?
Guess there is more in other nations.

Why haven't you guys made the leap to the motorcycle master race yet?
>40+ mpg
>less nox emissions
>dirt cheap
>more reliable than cars
>cheap to maintain
>cheap to insure
>can be parked virtually anywhere, even inside your own bedroom if you're on the first floor
>0-60 in 2.4s
>0-100 in 5
>superior handling

Do not make so much of a special snowflake of yourself. Also, don't go spamming useless topics around wrong boards. Meet you at /dbt/.

But i have.
>daily reminder that if you dont allow someone else to service your wife you shouldnt allow someone else to service your own bike
only exeption are:
1. suspension service and more complex tasks that require special equipment (like wheel building and frame fixing)
2. if you literally dont have time, but then you are only OK if you can manage/are knowledgeble to do those tasks yourself if needed be (I understand the importance of time=money but Ive ridden with people who ride for years and literally dont know how to index a basic 9 speed RD or change a flat - Im reffereing to that demographics i.e. yuppie scum)
and this fix, if you take your bike to a mechanic to change a casette you are literally a cuck
this thread is shit and op is a fag
>circa 2016
>not knowing how to build wheels
just end yourself
>>1038757
Wheelbuilding is one of those cases where it's worth paying somebody to do it. A guy who builds wheels all day will make stronger wheel than me who would only needs to build wheels once every couple years.
What's it like to live in one full time?
OK if you can park it in your parents backyard

Glorious if you can afford the gas .
I am heading to mexico for the winter.
Pretty fucking happy about it.
It's a fucking meme, dude. Don't fall for it. Only people who have no money saved at all have to do it. Living in a vehicle puts so much toll on its body, that you're forced to replace the whole thing every 7 years at the absolute longest. Insulation is also a huge deal as well as stale air/dust/condensation/moss. You have no storage space for anything, and unless you have zen-like patience of Buddha, you're gonna be spending all the money you'd saved on food anyway. You also have to be worrying about assholes ready to rob you and cops don't give a fuck because nomad lifestyle is illegal. Face it, it's fucking depressing.
Get a roomate, or buy a suburban patch of land and build your own home. Look into Section 8 if you're dirt poor. That is the smart and cheap way to go about it.

>OSMnx is a Python package for downloading administrative boundary shapes and street networks from OpenStreetMap. It allows you to easily construct, project, visualize, and analyze complex street networks in Python with NetworkX. You can get a city’s or neighborhood’s walking, driving, or biking network with a single line of Python code. Then you can simply visualize cul-de-sacs or one-way streets, plot shortest-path routes, or calculate stats like intersection density, average node connectivity, or betweenness centrality. You can download/cite the paper here.

Huh. I'm actually a GIS guy and it looks like I could use this for automating even more mindless stuff.
>>1041242
Does it do anything more than what you can do with qgis or arcmap? It looks just as usual network analyst to me.
anyway, it's a good website, lotsa nice ideas.
>>1041246
Not really.
I don't know why I finished hating this guy, I mean, he is the most narcicistic, pedantic and egotistical faggot I have ever seen. At first I enjoyed his videos but as time passed...
What do you think?
I don't watch vlogs
>>1040949
I like the race breakdown videos from him and Vegan Cyclist. I don't really care about their family or what they ate yesterday tho
>>1040949
I hate his click bait titles, and his vlogs about day to day shit, but as mentioned his race breakdowns are cool, and his long videos of long rides with his mates are so comfy, they make me wanna go riding so much so I give him the time of day generally. Also his South African camp friend is pretty funny.
*unzipps wheelset*
what do yall think of these
personally playboy, i don't give a damn.
