Is it still acceptable to use loose ball-bearing on bike pedals?
I will need to replace my pedals soon, but these loose balls are better than a cartdrige ball bearing?
How useful is a bike fitting? I'm buying a new bike and there's a shop offering a fitting included with the price of the bike- is it worth it?
how do we make these things great again?

Hello guys, I've wanted to buy a (good, quiet) trainer and get some recommendations for a (budget) bicycle that would work well on a trainer. I'd like to surprise my wife with a setup in our television room, and I'm hoping to stay under $500.
I was thinking either Cyclops Fluid2 or Kinetic Roadmachine 2, but only because they have the best reviews on Amazon and they're quiet enough that we could enjoy a movie while exercising.
Could I get a bike for under $200 that would perform well on this setup?
Thank you for input!
Why would you buy a trainer when you don't even have a bike
Might as well get a stationary bike
Hahahah dont get a bike cheaper than your trainer
The trainer in your pic related is the best one though. Pretty quiet
>>1042740
Yeah do this OP. A good stationary bike will be better than a cheap $200 + $500 turbo.
Also, even if some turbo trainers are quiet, don't expect wonders. They're all noisy, and not ideal if you want to watch a movie

Ironically they prove Darwin correct despite that they would probably have disagreed with him in life.

Can't Sikhs make special helmets that can be worn over a turban?
What does /n/ think of the memebike in snow? I'm taking one out on some mtb trials specifically groomed for fat biking this weekend. It will be my first time on a fat. Any tips or reccomendations?
I used to think they were memes until I rode one. Now I own a Pugsley. You'll want to use a hydration pack instead of bottles, because the bottles freeze. If you start sinking through the snow then lower your tire pressure a little.
Otherwise have fun, it's just a bike.
>specifically groomed for fat biking
aka flat, slow and boring
>>1040547
Thats what I'm skeptical about actually. Supposedly there is about 30mi worth of grommed trail and a good amount of advanced lvl stuff so hopfully its legit
Previous one is full, time for a new Post Your Bike Thread.
Here's my winter rig, got some bar mitts for Christmas and I'm really liking them so far. I still haven't put the studded tires on once yet this season, but I probably will need them for my commute on Thursday.

Looks good. what did you make your mudflap out of? I tried making one out of an old tube and it looks like hot garbage.

You didn't fuck up too bad. imho. People will shit on you but they're idiots
The glaring problem is that the handlebar is set up terribly. Come back here and ask before you tape it up
Components on this bike are going to crap out on you sooner than most people here would find acceptable.
But for a trail run on cycling you did okay
Remember that you bike has shitty tires that make it slow and get more flats, and a rough seat. And the wheels wobbling is a quality issue. A good bike won't have these problems. So don't blame cycling
Just ride this into the ground. If you love it, upgrade to something in the $700+ range. You did okay. A $200 used bike might have been a better choice but there's a good chance of getting ripped off if you aren't already knowledgeable
>>1042492
It's allright as long as it works and you don't abuse that bike. The wheels are probably the worst part of that bike, and personally I dislike that bars.
Pacific cycles makes most department store bikes. If you have ever ridden a department store bike you might not have went for one with a carbon fork. Or it could be perfectly fine, i'm rootin' for you OP- dun die.
