Post your bikes, I begin

Did you fall? If you just laid the bike down always do it on the left side so you don't hit the derailer on the floor.
Got some new bars, slightly wider (only 20mm but feels like much more) and with a bit of rise this time, made a surprisingly large difference to how the bike rides. Also got new brakes, Hope E4, and they're fucking great. Have since shortened the rear hose but left the front alone as it's a pain in the arse with braided hoses.
Also also replaced all my frame bearings which was a fucking nightmare without the proper tools. Glad I did though as most of them where seized solid (so it would have eventually worn through the pivot pins I'm guessing) and others had so much play that I could wiggle the rear end like 2cm side to side.
Fast, nimble, and light

What are your thoughts on Boom Airliner, the "successor" of the olde Concorde.
>>1087244
Aerion probably come first
>>1087246
>Aerion

Boom reach 2.2, friend.
>>1087249
Like it even matters. Besides, <2.0Mach puts airframes comfortably below the threshold at which aerodynamic heating becomes problematic
Has anyone else been burned by a bike shop?
I meet the seller of bike at one to have it inspected before buying it. The inspection found only one problem with the bike, a crack in the front deralleur hanger which was preventing the bike from changing gears in the front. After the mechanic pointed this out to me I asked him if this would be repairable. He assured me that this wasn't a problem and he would fill out the to see if the manufacturer would extend the warranty to cover the part so I would only have to pay for labor. So I ended buying the bike and boy that was a fucking huge mistake. A couple days after buying the store called me and said that piece is no longer available and the only way they could help me was buy selling me a 1200 dollar replacement frame set. I feel like such a fucking retard for trusting them. I even asked the mechanic if this part was still available since I didn't want to buy a unrepairable bike and he reassured me that it was an easy fix. Has anything similar happened to anyone else?
>front derailleur hanger
You mean piece OP?
>>1085819
Yes that piece.
>>1085817
No, they didn't 'burn' you, they said they'd ***TRY*** to get the warranty extended, not that they would ***DEFINITELY, GUARANTEED*** get the warranty extended, but you jumped the gun anyway and paid someone for a broken bike, and now you're all butthurt and pissy over your own mistake and are looking to place blame wherever you can. To make matters worse now you're wasting our time by whinging and whining about it here on /n/ when it's clearly your own fault that you're stuck with a piece of shit broken bike. Aside from the obvious course of action of killing yourself, what you COULD do at this point is try to get the original seller to refund your money and take the bike back, but really since you made a bad decision you're stuck with it and he'd be doing you a big favor. What you shouldn't be doing is taking it out on everyone else just because you're pissed that you made such a gigantic mistake. Maybe next time you'll have a little more patience and not fuck yourself over paying good money for a broken piece of garbage. Oh and by the way I'd bet that the bike was stolen in the first place and the seller won't even return your calls now. Good luck with your broken POS crap bike, faggot OP, LOL, what a dumbass.

What the fuck.
Why would ANYONE go there, for any reason, ever? Except to take money from as many people as possible, I mean.
>>1083856
Well this thread is off to just an absolutely dog shit start. Thanks autismo.

Thank the OP for posting such a dogshit place for human life. I would literally rather take a stroll through TEPCO's Fukishima holdings.
Out with the unbearable cold and in with the unbearable heat.

I need to work on channeling that anger into power more efficiently also need to find a way to keep my eyebrow sweat from going onto my glasses (Jawnreakers).

I also go harder in poor weather a lot of the time. I guess it's just kind of a "fuck you weather" sort of thing. Rain/wind/cold/heat gives a nice challenge especially since I live in a super flat area with the only real climb being a medium sized bridge.
Then whenever it's nice out I'm looking at birds or taking pictures for insta that I never actually post.
Strong winds today gusting up to 70 km/h, and I was happy about it. Some spots opened up on a club ride where they ride down wind until 3 pm and get a ride back, so I got in on that one. For much of the ride we could do over 30 km/h without even pedaling. Mostly casual riders so I took it easy most of the day. Once a slower person decided to get in the van, another guy and I got to cruising over 50 km/h for 20 minutes until the road shifted out of the tailwind.
Did 180 km in 5.5 hours with the group, with another 30 km on top of that riding to / from home.
For many long stretches there had to be a total of millions of caterpillars on the edge of the road. They made a popping sound like a campfire as we rode over them. So many made it into the right driving lane that there were two brown tracks in the road where vehicles had been running them over. The bastards had been eating every leaf in clumps of trees before heading out looking for more food.

I'm looking for a bike for my (tiny) GF so she can join me on weekend rides. Something reasonably quick/light so she enjoys herself, but cheap enough that it doesn't break the bank.
Thoughts on this Cannondale? https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/bik/6129947942.html
I'd need to swap the bars out for something with less drop...
>>1074790
>giving a new rider DT shifters
way to make sure your GF hates riding
just browse BD for an XS women's bike with cheap STIs. Even if it comes with shit parts, at least it will have dual pivot brakes, fresh pads, fresh tires, STIs (even if shitty), indexing, smoother shifting, ramps and pins on the chainring, and not a used worn out piece of shit.
the fact that the new parts are shitty is counterbalanced by the fact that old bikes use obsolete technology and are worn out and need major tune ups and parts replaced.
>>1074804
Honestly, I'm probably going to swap the bars for some townie bars and throw some thumbie shifters on. I have some old Shimano M700 shifters and levers that have been waiting for a good bike to use them on.
>the fact that the new parts are shitty is counterbalanced by the fact that old bikes use obsolete technology...
I'd take high end 30-year-old gear any day over chitzy plastic made-by-the-lowest-bidder-in-china gear. I'm a manufacturing engineer, I know precisely how shitty you can make stuff in China and still allow it to be functional through the end of the warranty period. No thanks.
Mid 80's Shimano 600 was a fantastic groupset.
>...and are worn out and need major tune ups and parts replaced.
I do all my own work and have enough spare parts in the garage to build at least two bikes. Tuneups are not a problem.
is Tommaso a garbage brand? They seem to have moderately priced bikes with components that are a bit better than other bikes at that price range
Hey /n/ so I haven't touched this bike in over a decade and I'm interested in getting it functional again. What do I need to do in order to make this happen? Just inflate the tires, line the chain, and I should be good to go?
Make sure steering and brakes work and it won't fall apart while you're riding.
>>1091246
it looks like its intended for 13 yr olds
do you still have the height and build of a 13 yr old
or do you plan on selling/giving it to someone?

OK /n/,
Who here plays train sims? Anyone create routes for train sims? Here's one I made on Trainz:ANE using assets from the Welsh Highland Ffestiniog route as well as stuff made by other users. It's unfinished, but hey.

> Mountain Bike Rally, titled Cannondale Cup in North America, is a Super Nintendo Entertainment System bicycle racing video game that is a simulation of real mountain biking.
This is great stuff. I can't believe Cannondale put their name on a shit-tier Road Rash knockoff where MTBs ride on pavement and you punch the shit out of fellow riders

???
Besides the fact that it isn't an aero bike, what's wrong here?
>>1090470
The most obvious one is that the fork is backwards.
I don't know, I've kind of developed a fetish for bicycles over the years that sees me always wanting something "better". That bike will get you anywhere you need to go if you turn the fork around. The rear spokes also look rusted is the only other problem I can see visually.
What does /n/ think of cafe racers?
>>1090125
I think that if someone takes a good vintage Japanese motorcycle and fucks it all up that it's a waste of a good motorcycle. But, if someone wants to take a beats to shit bike and fix it up and then turn it into an uncomfortable ride that's ok for them. Just don't expect me to think it's cool.
I'm a fan of vintage factory paint.
They're not cool anymore, it's all about scrambler conversions now. Plus, scramblers are actually more usable.
I own one. :)

Indeed. Sagan was quite within his rights to take that wheel. It was Cavendish, trying to take a gap that wasn't there, who ran into Sagan and not the other way around. As can be seen from multiple angles and in slow motion, the famous """elbow""" happens after Cavendish has already ran into the back wheel of Sagan and is about to hit the wall. It's simply Sagan regaining his balance.
Fuck UCI - once again.
>>1087550
And here's a still. Look at the angle of Cavendish's front wheel. Look at his face. This is the split second after his front wheel bounced off Sagans rear.
>>1087561
And here's where Cavendish pulls Sagans elbow out but hooking it with his bars.
I sure hope Sagan appeals this decision. It's a travesty.
Does this mean it's time to change my tires? This is the first pair I ever bought 5 years ago
>>1087007
Nah, you're good for another five unless you take up cycling as a hobby or means of transportation.
>>1087007
Yes absolutely.
Hi, just trying to see what you guys think would be a fantastic bike to ride on the street without being a full-blown racing bike. I saved up a fair amount of coin for this and am looking to ride it for hours each day.
Pic related is my current contender (Specialized Sirrus Expert Carbon X1), but I just don't know whether I should go for a heavier bike with thicker wheels.
Open to any and all recommendations.
Sorry for nub, thanks in advance for responses
don't waste your money on a carbon sirrus.
>>1086596
There's no reason spend that much on a commuter bike unless it has a Rohloff (may not even be that expensive) or a motor.
>>1086601
This fucking hell OP just get a cheap commuter bike
I bought a new bike, and the front wheel doesn't spin only the rear wheel.
that is i can move backwards but not forwards.
is there something in the bicycle that is blocking the movement of the front wheel?
Yeah the brakes.
>>1090566
Take another photograph, and maybe we can spot the source of the blockage for you.
Have you tried pushibg the pedals?
Usually solves the problem for me
