I always x2 speed up my music after downloading it. Now I can listen to ×2 the music.

I did this since I was a kid, without the speeding up though. The chord progressions feel "fresh" when pitch shifted.

The trick is to pitch everything down an octave, everything sounds better.

Also changing the pitch by a few semitones can really make a difference when listening to something you are working on for hours, makes it sound like a new song so you can appreciate it again.

Oh nice I'm not the only one. It really helps me to notice if a particularly difficult chord change works.

Same, but I prefer lowering the pitch of songs. I'll try several different key changes and usually one will really stick out.
