So is the consensus that this is a good album or not /mu/?
The only form of metal I subscribe to is post metal and associated subgenres so I enjoyed it a heap
Also, that artwork is great
The consensus here is that it's not particularly good; but it's not necessarily bad either.
There are excellent moments; but those are overshadowed by the questionable writing choices and questionable production choices the band went with. Sunbather is definitely the stronger album.
where's the leak

>fadeouts
>forced post rock piano interludes
it's not great
Why do you care about the consensus?

i actually enjoyed those lel
Pretentiousness and metal go completely hand in hand it doesn't even bother me at this point

i just wanted to discuss it but i didnt want to compliment it because
complimenting deafheaven is apparently illegal
It's quite typical 4th wave BM. Nothing out of the ordinbary about it. The post-rock bits are better than the BM parts.
I listened to it after having listened to FIlosofem earlier today.
Sunbather is their epos. New Bermuda is one heck of a solid 6/10. It's better than the average 4th wave album, but it's not THAT good.

It's just an average album nothing great about it
Is it weed?

The transitions and interludes were way more smooth this time around, way less forced than when they tried that kind of shit on sunbather, overall New Bermuda is just way more cohesive and well written.
i love the dramatic switches in sunbather from blackgaze to post rock because the two work alongside eachother
theres not really blackgaze on this album though its kind of like thrash metal at some parts and metal is for stupid baby faggots who suck their mommas titties so i dont feel like an adult when i listen to new bermuda

yeah at this point adding extra crap is normal
I liked New Bermuda and i still really like the band and i really dont give a shit
Literally could have been made by slipknot
