using spaces to get past potential filters, sorry if it seems obnoxious, because this NEEDS to be discussed. it's driving me up a wall
>used to be involved in v a porwave 2011-2013
>used to be able to just pop off e c cojams on a given theme like that and have an album once every one or two months
>try to make e c cojams or at least long, slowed down mixes now
>end up just turning everything in to beats and dance tracks
>tried to make a straight up v a porwave/eccojams album
>took me 6 months, was mostly drone
>really miss the community v a porwave used to have where people were making cute mini-releases on a regular basis
>now it's either "future beats" or e c cojams about the same "retro-futurist" themes
what does the dumb simple sample-based jams scene need for inspiration/aesthetics right now? i miss networking with people. now what used to just be v a porwave/c h illwave feels technical/intellectual at best (m a nicure records, b o otleg tapes, p c music) or downright contrived at worst (some of the less listenable d m t tapes and d r eam catalogue releases, even the best ones cover much of the same themes and inspiration)
and i mean? we don't even need to talk about where s p f 4 20 went i don't think, or p e psi. it's really awful.
chose dilla as the image because he did this before v a porwave and is always a good point of inspiration for short sample based music, but also to get people's attention/didn't wanna use a stereotypical Meme picture for this topic.

TL;DR:
why is there no community or inspiration for, whatever u wanna call it, dumb sample jams any more? who, or what killed it?
sorry the typos/anything else make me look dumb
