I really enjoyed Lonerism. It wasn't so far into garage psych as Innerspeaker seemed to channel at times. Lonerism wasn't retro, but their own type of psych, not too derivative. Yet, Let It Happen was way too dancy, and this recent song has terrible lyrics and sounds too much like an 80's song. What happened?

This is really mediocre, Let It Happen played it really safe too.

Hopefully this will grow on me like LIH did but so far I'm worried about the rest of the album.

The lyrics are just this passive aggressive depiction of the stereotype of a "man" from a kind of sexist woman's perspective. It's ass backwards in artistic intention, but I think Tame Impala have always written these ass blasted songs. And I also think it's pathetic to go from sort of jam-band psyche to this finger snappin' sex music. Fuck this. Fuck Australians. I'm sick of the drummer's snare sound, too. I've met him, as well, he's a gaylord and the singer is terrible live. He looks like a troll doll. Nothing cool about them. Nothing rock star or sex icon. Or music nerd and obsessive song writer.
