I'll be honest.
As cheesy as the lyrics are, and blunt the track names are, I'm having fun with Psycho.

The drill sergeant (to work for the feel they are trying to get) should definitely be more strained in his screaming and Bellamy should not be singing this type of song how he is singing (minus the chorus if you ignore "your ass belongs to me now").

But all that out of the way, I am having fun. The guitars feel nice and they are definitely trying to get an Absolution/OoS feel going.

I don't think this single has convinced me to buy it, but maybe the next will be better. Probably not, but I'll download it anyway because I like semi-shitty hard rock.

I also think that this song is way closer to Showbiz than OoS let'ts think about it in Showbiz they focused on guitar ,bass and drums in OoS there were massive guitar riffs,bass intros snd piano solos the songs were a emotional rollercoaster they were heavy and then soft(citizen erased) these songs from origin they require multiple listenings to understand the depht of their message.
They are coming back with some of the old sound great! But that doesn't mean that every song of the new album sounds as great as the songs in OoS.
Let's wait for the whole album and see if there's some groundbreaking song that redefines rock like in the old days.

I think it's a shit track. It's just plain and tasteless guitar rock, they aren't bringing anything new. It feels like kids brandishing their tiny fists to call the authorities out on their fraudulent business, advocating for muh freedom or god knows what. Everything in "Psycho" has been done a hundred times before.

The most shocking thing is this drill sergeant thing. Everyone knows how it works. Everyone has seen this clip of Full Metal Jacket. The idea has been used and reused. It just feels like Muse are trying to catch up on their time. Very disappointing.
