Well the time has come to say goodbye as I'm done with my Dave project and it's time to move on. As some of you did guess, I am actually behind or at least involved with quite a few different artists and bands that get posted on here, so it's not truly goodbye just yet.
The Dave ride was a fun one though wasn't it? I'll stick around for a little while to answer questions if there are any.
>dreampop, shoegaze, experimental
DFoH was done with the help of Polysemy
And coming soon is our new album with Efferat, which will be more towards noise pop shoegaze.
>art punk, prog punk, post-hardcore

>noisy chaotic dancey death pop
Electronic, trap, melody-based, instrumental hip-hop.
> First Wave post-rock, Instrumental, Psychedelic, hints of western
>decide for yourself
I dont even have bandcamp, or that thing, or object, or, thing, or object
I made one just to discard stuff from my SC
beats and things. sucks. don't check it out.
>90s / alt rock / emo / grunge
All our stuff is free to download.
I love this! Amazed I haven't come across you before now. Got a subtle 80s goth flavor mixed with a dash of mellow emo-pop. I dig it.
Rec'd you in the soundcloud thread. Really enjoyed your stuff. The one thing I would recommend is using some better drum samples/sounds on future releases. (The electronic drums are a bit too "modern/urban" cliche for my taste.) Keep it up!
Cool vibe. What DAW do you use to create your tracks? Also: you should totally come up with ridiculous track names, just for the fun of it. “Untiled” is boring.
Super out there… but it’s cool. Vocals have a slint vibe. I liked “The Grass Is Green” a lot.
I’m not big into dance/techno but your production quality is nice.
This track reminded me of a fleet foxes song. I love that guitar lead.
Fucking sick. Would love to see you guys play live. Come to LA.
Beautiful guitar work man, I love your parts. Like a super lo-fi John Frusciante.
>art-rock, post-rock, instrumental, minimalist
yooooo dude we are this summer!
i dont wanna post my name explicitly on here but you should add me on fb if you want me to keep you in the loop about it, (on our page (fb.com/derivetheband) in the info my names initials are NJ) itll be late july or early august
This is a 14 song album combed from 30+ tracks I put together over a very productive period starting last summer. I think it flows well from calm to incredibly intense tracks. I don't set out to make things in certain genres I just kind of pull from everything and try to make every song something new and different. I worked really hard on this album and I hope you guys like it.
>triphop, jazz, noise rock, experimental fun, breakbeat, virtuoso live guitar and bass.
>lots of layers
>massive build ups
>electronic post rock
>somewhat modern classical inspired
Thank you for listening
The shadow of me on the side of my bed hunched over my guitar with my laptop next to me seen from the perspective of a spirit or something behind me with a trippy background made from a distorted photoshop thing of my face. This is all contained in a portal hung on the wall of an ancient gallery where the ends of the Fibonacci Sequence meet, demonstrated by the pixel wide white lines on the top and bottom of the white wall which are the exact number of pixels apart as the first few Fibonacci numbers.
i dont use DAWs. this was all maded with my dr202 and a microkorg. also i didnt title them because i didnt put enough effort into them to feel like they deserved titles.
thanks. ive been kinda working on some more dance tunes for seventh swell if youre into that. ive also been trying to write songs for a live band thing. its really fucking hard but it makes me care more about my shit, which is great.
>ambient, drone, acoustic guitars
I played my first show last night. Everyone seemed to enjoy it except for a few assholes who came up and asked if I was the DJ and for me to play something more dancy since it was her birthday.
>Noise - Power electronics
>depressive black metal, ambient
>post-punk, noise rock, industrial
Returning all feedback
Demo out now! order on CD if you like what you hear. Raw (but not shit) production. Hope you enjoy!
Sup guys. I'll be checking some releases here that interest me (overall, ambient and post-rock) and give feedback everytime I'm done listening.
There's really a lot of genres in this album, which makes it very inconsistent (that's not something bad though). I would call more attention on the less-energetic tracks, like health pt. 1. The variation of BPM from track to track make these almost boring. Overall it's pretty good.
Vaguely alien themed. Philadelphia. Free download. Bedroom recording quality.
>reverb soaked indie dream fuzzy post-pop punk folk tier shit
I really like this. Your vocals remind me of someone but I can't place it at the moment. Definitely gonna download. If you're ever in Philly I'd love to do a show together.
>symphonic electronic avant-garde prog silliness
My friend and I did this EP over the course of a week or so.
>lofi pop, lot of craft
>my first album
>metro-ko, downtempo, dubstep, 2-step, underground hip hop, moody, chill, psychedelic
>collaborated with jordaan mason on a track
>contains samples of the beach boys, joanna newsom, daniel johnston, bob dylan, bill evans, and various films
>made for a girl
>all for free
I like this. There are letdowns between (tracks 3 and 4 were fillers imo), but all in all, it is pretty good and I reccommend it. More ambient and classical than post-rock indeed.
Track 6 is really amazing btw, if anything I'd like to hear more stuff like that one. Kinda reminds me of the instrumentals from American Football.
Excellent job. Track 3 is genuinely scary, due to the amazing production job (kinda Giles Corey-ish) and Ritual Ambient atmosphere it has. I really reccommend this album.
I can't get myself to like the voice. How old is the guy speaking? 12 years old? Whatever age he is, he's trying too hard to be edgy, constantly talking about murder and shit. And the terrible recording quality for that, man.
It's annoying, cringey.
I like the instrumentation, but the voice kills it all.
>Ambient, Drone, ethereal
Honest Feedback very much appreciated (I'm gonna give hella feedback rn)
Love those reversed guitar sounds on opening track. Very pleasant sounding. Kinda lost me when the beat came in, was expecting an ambient song and got a generic sounding soft rock song.
Also reviewed your stuff yesterday. Listening to second track now. Liking this one a lot more than the first. Drums are interesting but could be brought up a little more, kick drum is completely lost. I think i hear a subtle sidechain. There's a bell sound coming from the left and i think it should be center (sounds a little like Pantha du Prince). All in all, very weird experimental song. It def sound original and I gotta give you credit for that
Listening to second track. Nice layers. Sort of reminds me of those old 90's techno ambient albums. There's a lead that comes in and i find it annoying, could be turned down/taken out because it doesn't really fit. Only plays for a couple bars tho. Got bored halfway so i stopped. Decent job. Also that album name is hilarious, I read it out loud to myself
Cute melody but the song sounds very bland, dry, flat. Try changing up the arpeggio cuz it gets old very quickly. Might appeal to indie kids/chiptune lovers
Pretty cool jams. Reminds me of some of the jams i've been in. But, like most jams, it's pretty aimless. Were you drummer or guitarist?
Listening to second song. Honestly, really not my thing, too goofy and too much circus wank. Sounds like you had fun making it so thats all that matters. Stopped halfway through because i couldn't stand it
Listening to cop. Very lo fi. That beat that comes in later is super dope, gives the song some energy. The voice is a bit intrusive, really annoying.
shallows - citrine
lo-fi, indie, experimental, short songs
recording a live studio session in vancouver on sunday w/t video & interview. that'll be cool. playing chehalis with nagasaki nightclub march 7th and ashland OR march 20th.
buy my record, or don't. it's expensive and music is dumb so I get it
>Black Metal,Post Rock and Experimental
I haven't slept in three days
Instrumental progressive post rock
really nice sound.
all there is to see reminds me of Music for Airports. (i like Music for Airports)
downloaded. cool cover art too.
>funny punk shit
Awesome! I'll definitely follow you guys on facebook. Maybe I'll get to catch the show!
Maybe so, but I think the production qualities were cool. If you put more effort in to your future work it will only get better and better!
Great atmosphere to these tracks. I'm getting a Have A Nice Life vibe from those reverb-soaked drum tracks. I think you could be a little more confident with your vocals in the mix, as I'd love to hear them turned up a bit. The piano was an awesome texture to add as well.
This is really good man. Keep it up. The guitar work is great, and the melodies never get too emo-cliche. Would love to hear what you could do with a proper backing band.
oh this is me btw:
>older material is more neo-tribal, acoustic, and heavily improvised
>alt-country, swamp blues, tom waits
Smooth tropical computer music with a pretty girl singing. West nile is best nile
My first consolidated album made up of my first finished projects. Looking for criticism!
>Experimental, Various Genres
>Hope In Hand
>Folk, Folk Pop, Lo-fi, Singer-Songwriter.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank You. :)
Aww it kills me that you find track 3 to be filler, that's the main piece on the album after track 6, which I'm glad you enjoyed.
Cheers for the feedback
Reccing hard, this is one of the best things I've ever found in a BC thread
I appreciate feedback
Thanks so much
Not mine, but these guys are my favourite local band. They're really amazing and I highly recommend them.
Listen to "Little Sunshine".
Thanks dude the bands hopefully gonna come down the line. Your shits fun as fuck! Great riffs and production. I especially love Mr. 50 Questions and The Suit. The bands super tight as well.
Interesting stuff diggin the boy/girl vocals. I really like Thoughts Will Have to Suffice
I'm the guitarist. Yeah man, most of the tunes have a really loose structure. We are both really into free jazz and improv, but also drone music and afrobeat, and shit like that. I guess it's about the raw aesthetic more than anything else. Thanks for listening dude.
that's super crispy dude. It makes me wonder what it would sound like with some strings and little bit higher quality drum recording. I like the textures.
damn that is creepy as hell.
>shoegaze, dream pop, garage punk
>Rock, Folk, Sampling, Ambient, Experimental, Singer-Songwriter, Bullshit
Just finished putting it together earlier tonight.
>Live electronics, noise, improvisation, minimalist
>lots of guitar work, surf-punky, high energy, layered vocals
my band's final recordings. I'll check out posts and give feedback.
