I don't get it. It's a slowed down 90s track with edits that can be done on Virtual Dj LE.

The drums are flat, the spectrum is bottom heavy (slowing down music hurr) and that zelda tune is TRITE AS FUCK FRIEND.

Nice pic. I'm already following you on SC, but yeah. I've no specific criticisms beyond the overall structures of the songs being homogenous. Fancy it up a bit more with breaks, or maybe try and insert a V/C style structure into it. I don't really know, but I like it.

1: Low pass. Every sample in this track as a low frequency component and they all stack ontop one another and you can't hear anything else.

2: Plain (a multiple of bars) phasing is boring, obnoxious and incredibly easy to spot if you've hard it before. It's as easy as anything to vary up the frequency. Seriously, don't use it.

3: Trap, as a genre, relies almost entirely on the quality of the drums. If you think about it, trap consists of a textureless LF bass, thin padding synths and the drums. If the drums are poorly produced it drags the entire track down.

Note the large-scale changes in how the song sounds. I think this style lends itself closer to the Dream-pop sound too, as dreams aren't constant and unchanging.

To be honest, I didn't completely like that most of the songs on my first mixtape sounded like a battle rap type of song, y'know like saying how much I spit fire. as for hooks I don't really see why I need to have those in a song, not that that's a bad thing. But there are definitely things i'm going to be improving in my next tape, especially the beats, they'll be a lot more diverse.
