Have you hearted the demo version of Walking with Jesus? Pure perfection.

I prefer Spectrum far more than Spiritualized, Kember kept the spirit intact much better. Pierce practically sold out and became a hip pop star after Laser Guided Melodies, Pure Phase, and Ladies and Gentlemen.

Dreamweapon is great, so are How Does It Feel, Ecstasy Symphony and the other drone compositions Kember did. I'm a huge fan of Galaxie 500, the other slowcore bands like Sugarplant and Low are great too. Wareham's spin-off Luna is fantastic too.

Yeah, it made me think of stuff like Dinosaur Jr and a bunch of others.. that I read 3 minutes later on the wiki under "commonly cited precursors". So my musical hear isn't beyond saving.
I find MVB to be a rather pleasant listen, but as you accurately described it, Galaxie 500 is closer to my original cup of tea.

What is Deerhunter's most shoegazey song/album?

are there any good groups similar to Crystal Castles, but closer to shoegaze?

I love the way they combine shoegaze elements with synthpop, but I'm looking for something leaning more to the former than the latter.

DG is definitely more shoegazy, though. I'm struggling to think of a really synth-poppy shoegaze band, because synthpop has always had connotations of being "upbeat" in my head. It's a combination I'd like to hear.

favorite bands so far are Nothing, Whirr, MBV, some of Red House Painters' more shoegazey stuff, and Have a Nice Life (if you can really count them.)

I'm currently working on sort of a shoegaze/dream pop/beachgaze project with my friends. I've recorded a couple of demos by myself and we're gonna get some actual versions out soon.
