2 Chainz is intellectual. He created that whole persona/image to sell records. He did a good job with it too, he knows what the average Ameritard wants.
Genius... The voice of our generation.
(Our generation is autistic and retarded)
>Post a more intellectual group
Protip: You can't
they don't strike me as particularly smart and they're probably the least innovative clique ever
So you probably need a 13-14 ACT to get into Chicago State. If you don't know about ACT scores, people who are barely literate can score 18-20.
He's talking about when he said that Ride "admitted" to tokenism and that it was horribly racist to call it niggas on the moon because zach and andy are white. It was completely ridiculous
I love Milo's music but it's damn hard to separate him from what he makes
>Tells people to run naked backwards through a field of dicks
Eh, wouldn't go that far. I don't know why he's so sensitive about slurs (getting called nigger when he was younger seems to be one reason), but it's not like it's totally unreasonable. It's something he deals with in his music a lot
Being against the use of the word nigger is completely reasonable, I understand why he wouldn't want that. Claiming that someone who has been in about two interviews and has only actually talked in one "admitted to tokenism" is completely ridiculous.
He also went to college
I hope all le wrong generation faggots kill themselves, good riddens
I agree to an extent, but Both RTJ's are better than C4C, and I liked C4C, it was just less consistent.
Cise Starr is criminally underrated
Not very conscious but geniuses at flowing and putting together beats
Has some quality perspectives on issues often addressed in a not very intellectual way
Mos Def seems pretty bright too whenever he is speaking on political and social stuff
He's such a pretentious faggot, terrible human being. TTH day +night was aight tho, nothing else
He definitely is, I was about to include him and Talib Kweli
Another political activist with a lot of insight on the controversial subjects of society's problems and police brutality. Actually a really clever dude, you guys should check out his CNN interview
I am too. I personally prefer CLPPNG despite Tonight being their worst track ever, but I can see how if you really enjoy the storytelling you would prefer midcity. Both good albums.
I don't have one personally sorry, It's on youtube as a playlist tho
>I'm not racist, my best friend is white
Hip Hop "intellectualism" is so poor
it's such a closed off culture that people don't realize what real intellectuals are, vague allusions to religion, bullshit like nation of islam and it's even dumber offshoots, conspiracy theories and social pressures are seen as intellectual, basically no Rapper has ever said anything sophisticated about these topics.
No, mos def is not an intellectual, immortal technique is a degenerate conspiracy theorist (read: idiot), Run the jewels are pseudo-intellectuals and conspiracy theorists, clipping is shit, Milo is a retard
Pretty much the same goes for de la soul, tribe called quest, related acts and dalek
Death Grips doesn't really belong in this category since they don't flaunt their supposed "depth", "consciousness" and "intellect" in their music, their concepts are better than most though.
black man=rap artist
lol you're dumb
Is the popular opinion that CLPPNG is better? People who say that must not have heard it, or not be into noise. Also, the second half of CLPPNG sucks, Midcity is fantastic all the way through sans features.
Man. You must not remember when this shit went down. There were threads and threads about spamming the shit out of his twitter and tumblr account because he talked shit about death grips.
Yes, the noise use was less accessible and more detailed on the first album, but don't you think that took away in part from its catchiness or how engaging it could be? I think CLPPNG and Midcity are great, just for different reasons. Yes CLPPNG was considerably more watered down and accessible, but in doing so they created catchier and more entertaining songs, at least in my opinion.
And it's not like they sacrificed their application of noise in creating the tone.
Story 2 used it's increase in tempo and noisy background as a perfect tool to display the frantic nature of the character's thoughts.
Taking off and Dominoes also exhibited static and in Dominoes a child's choir that was still very risky and worked incredibly with the emotion Daveed and company wanted to force onto the listener to reinforce their themes.
Shame on you for not bringing up Eyedea yet, /mu
Here's Some Busdriver too
Shout out to this guy.
Shameless Self Promotion Incoming:
>the second half sucks
Dominoes? Story 2? Fucking Get Up?? How could one like Midcity and not Get Up, that song's awesome
Yea man, so good. I really liked their Mike Brown response, I think it was the best one of the 50 that came out
It was risky, not for music in general, but for Noise Hop. It just isn't something that gets done, and they make it work really melodically. It was creative. Also how many songs have you heard with a children's choir immediately followed by an almost dubstep like bass drop? It's just a cool motif, I enjoyed it
Hmmm I respect your opinion but I disagree, I think Ends was a nicely hectic and final closer
It's not an opinion, it's an umbrella term used to belittle a healthy genre just because a particular person refuses to even explore that genre. I'm not at all referring to his taste, but rather his close-mindedness in openly calling a genre a "meme" just because he doesn't enjoy it
I like your taste anon. Feather is still GOAT Nujabes to me. His instrumentals were good but I think he really shined with a thought provoking emcee spitting over his production. Did you also hear Luv Sic 1-6?
Feather was what got me into Nujabes at first, so that song will always be special to me. The Luv Sic series is great too, part 5 is so sad.
I think his instrumentals are really strong in their own right, but when he has shing02 or Cise Starr or Substantial on beats with him it takes it to another level. Some of my favorites are Blessing it, F.I.L.O, Thank You, and City Lights, as far as ones with artists rapping on top of the beats go.
Are you me? Everything you just said is so accurate, yea man i didn't think Luv Sic could get any sadder until Nujabes died, then it was like 50 times heavier, especially since part 5 pretty much fits a eulogy of a lost loved one, shit's crazy. Shing02 is easily my favorite Asian Rapper and a brilliant MC. Blessing it is really good. I've been getting into pic related too, you might enjoy it. Sort of a similar style
Do do realize that all this hype could potentially make milo against death grips a meme, right? He didn't to it to express his opinion but to get more hype and more record sales. Honestly im annoyed with DG being everywhere too, but don't be an oblivious guy in a crowd.
De La Soul are a great group with some very thoughtful lyrics.
