I remember seeing some kind of avantguard jazz shit once. It was fucking terrible, everyone was playing for themselves disregarding the rest of the band entirely.
The drummer suddenly took out a tiny gong he started banging on before returning to the drums and using some kind of self made shit for sticks.
Worst thing is they were using notesheets, so it wasn't even improvised. Most pretentious shit I have ever seen, and I have seen some shit.

I see not explaining yourself is very popular amongst degenrate jazz fans. You guys are just as dumb as your music.

On a personal note the problem I find with Jazz is that there's no equivalent of death metal inside the genre. Rock can keep me going all day because it has Black Sabbath or Electric Wizard or some real heavy riffage. Jazz...well, you've got blues, and be bop and swing, but I can never find that jazz feel of doom.
