ITT: songs that were ahead of their time
Just by how entirely average it sounds today, you're absolutely right.
Not that that's something against Joy Division.
Jesus christ you're completely right OP
I miss these 2000's R&B/Hip-hop/Pop hits
No, what you mean to say is
>this song was the last good RnB dance pop song
>this song was ahead of it's time
Look at the other examples in this thread. Ahead of it's time is music that is created in anticipation of a musical movement like punk/metal/no-wave etc.
There was RnB dance pop songs before this, and after this. It was definitely 'in it's time'
It's rap like before there was rap, and was written years before the George W. Bush administration would do just about everything noted in the song.
>Khlebnikov wrote the essay "The Radio of the Future" about mass communication technologies in 1921. This is a composition from 2006 that's based on it. Khlebnikov did not actually write or perform this music.
"eyes yo next door neighbor" was the original "I fucked yo bitch"
Definitely, there was nothing like it at the time unless you look at some of the proto-punk stuff, but even then it was extremely raw even compared to that scene. it definitely didn't draw from said scene. I don't think you see anything like it until the 80s with stuff llike no-wave and the Violent Femmes. Post-Beatles Lennon is fucking spectacular.
