why tho?

he still puts out some tip top tunes

everyone knows how easy it would be for him to do some bait top 40 shit with all of his releases

but he's still keeping it fairly raw

he's walking the fine line between undergroudn and mainstream

he knows his dubstep too. played at DMZ a few years back and has releases on practically all the top dubstep labels.

don't get me wrong, i wasn't the greatest fan of his recent album but his EPs that he's done since have been bretty gub

Come on man, even without looking it up I know that NWA used the Amen Break in a track earlier than that.

According to whosampled this is the oldest track they have which featured the Amen Break.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jvVq8aO0WA
>>

It's called generalizing the masses.
There's obviously going to be strays, but teas usually fall into that pattern.
>>
>>53114084
>>53114265
The first Hip-Hop producer to dismember the drum sounds of the Amen break and reprogram them into a new pattern was Mr. Mixx of 2 Live Crew on their 1987 song "Feel Alright Y'all" from the Move Somethin' album, followed by the Mantronix sample-heavy track "King of the Beats" in 1988

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amen_break

The tape machine reads the tape.

The tape machine is what is being jockied in the video.
>>
>>53114965
Well even if you have a solid-state drive you could hook it up to CD-js then you'd be by definition a DJ

>definition a DJ

DJ1
ˈdiːdʒeJ/
noun
noun: DJ; plural noun: DJs

1.
a person who introduces and plays recorded popular music on radio.
"he was the only DJ to play our last release on the radio"
a person who plays recorded dance music at a club or party.
"a DJ will spin tunes"
a person who uses samples of recorded music to make dance or rap music.

1.
play recorded music on radio or at a club or party.
"he DJ'ed for 5 hours non-stop"
>>
>>53115060
The part that is spinned in the video here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Xuy0GAsnNQ

Is a disk.
>>
>>53115067
Yes discs are being jockeyed. the CD-J is a disk

Jockey :handle or manipulate (someone or something) in a skillful manner..
>>
>>53115104
>>53115104
I dunno, the music isn't on the disc it's on the bands inside the disc.
They're clearly turntablists and not DJs.
>>
>>53115073
Well I'm using the literal definition.

Look up disc, then look up the word Jockey

A DJ is in my opinion, someone who Jockeys discs. Someone who simply hits play to a song on the radio is someone who simply hits play to a song on the radio in my opinion.
>>
>>53115146
not if it's a solid state drive and no CDs
>>
>>53115218
But I do see that in popular vernacular someone who hits play can be a DJ. I guess I can't argue with google.
