Best album you've blindly listened to because /mu/ suggested it
>>52743196
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH
agree, Pic is the only example.
bretty gud
s/o to whoever posted this in that noise rock thread.
>>52743844
This. It's been doing wonders to help with my depression.
>>52743196
same OP. brave little abacus is GOAT, I want to make a tape bootleg of this album.
Red House Painters Down Colorful Hill
>>52743851
giving this a listen now. p good anon. trying to get into noise right now. any recs?
>>52743196
ITAOTS
>>52744067
not a big noise guy. you might like hum - downward is heavenward
>>52743829
First heard that album in 2008, loved it. Came to /mu/ 5 years later and was surprised people knew what it was.
Hookworms pearl mystic
The Museum of Imaginary Animals by Pram was bretty good
>>52743904
by making you more depressed?
>>52743908
It kills me that I will never own this album on vinyl.
The only thing that makes it better is that I'm friends with Adam on FB and he told me that he's looking to release some material from his new band and start touring.
>>52744252
>The only thing that makes it better is that I'm friends with Adam on FB
i wanna friend him
>>52744124
How'd you find out about it?
VIET CONG
so good
>>52744270
Do it then. I actually saw Laura Stevenson play in town and he was drumming in her band. I'm pretty sure the only reason he didn't like block me or something is because I offered to help book Me in Capris when they tour. But you never know, it probably won't be weird, I doubt someone like him gets hundreds of rando friend requests or something like that.
>>52744067
Easiest intro would be Yellow Swans - Going Places. As much ambient and drone as noise, good for a transition to harder stuff.
A$AP Rock - whatever that EP and album were called.
Yeh, good work /mu/
Not the best, but certainly unique
Now I think of it, /mu/ rarely let me down. Except bullshit like death grips or vaporware
>>52744154
It sounds like you've never had depression, though I'm not trying to assume anything. Pretty much the album has been letting me click into those feelings and recognize them better so that I can cope with them. It sounds pretty complicated, but it somehow works for me.
>>52744292
I remember I was looking for some blackgaze bands and I came across them.. Which doesn't make too much sense, but that's how it happened.
this is a masterpiece
thank whoever recommended it,
>>52745197
haha yw dude
>>52745962
this is a good album, never seen it mentioned on /mu/ though
>>52744850
know this feel
>>52743829
I've cried to this album many times and it's always a great release. Great for getting over depression even if you sound like a faggot.
listened to it until 6 am the next morning thanks for the feels you bastards
Still love this album
>>52743196
this was mixed so trash tho i vomited
>>52746201
eeeeeh it's more just recorded oddly and mastered really quietly
just turn it up really loud
>>52746239
i felt like i would have liked it but it was so hard to listen to... maybe i just need to switch to headphones instead of speakers
School Girl Distortional Addict is an 8/10 rock album that I found through /mu/.
>>52746259
do it man
the album is made for headphones; lots of stereo play and such
the way it's recorded doesn't really work out for speakers
the technical aspect of just got back is its only flaw, honestly- but in some ways it's part of its charm
>>52743196
>dat last minute of Please Don't Cry, They Stopped Hours Ago.
All those feels
It wasn't even recommended to me. Does anyone else find the best recs they get are aimed towards other people?

>>52746838

>>52746159
I used to rec this album a lot and I'm glad people like it.
pic related is an album I'm happy to have had rec'd to me
>>52743196
>that generic emo band that has a shitty polaroid as an album cover
do they have a cassete and a split 7 inch with the local twinkledaddies too?
>>52746912
>Being you
>2015
ayyy lmao
>>52746912
yeah what makes BLA so special is that they're the least generic emo band of them all, not twinkly or anything
the only thing emo about them is that they're fronted by a whiny teenager really
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQlH6UISV30
listen to it for more than 0 seconds and you'll see
>>52746912
check out this fagatron 5000

nico and whatever bannana fuck album
it sucked and I hated it
>>52747556
fun fact: fagottron is german for the bassoon
the more you know
Since I left you. It's my favorite /mu/ find to date
Knew I loved it as soon as the first song kicked in, I was grooving by myself in bed, and beaming the whole first song
One of those albums I wish I could hear for the first time again
Divorce Lawyers, I shaved My Head
thanks to the anon who introduced me to this some months ago - may your weekend be full of good stuff
>>52747690
What's this?
>>52747707
>chillwave, nu disco, funktronica, exotica
>>52746191
I blindly listened to this today
I actually really liked it
thx /mu/
And I think you to this day.
First thing I ever saw on /mu/, the art drew me in. And ITAOTS, both I still love to this day.
I get a lot of my music from here, but I normally research it first.
Literally the first thing I listened to when I entered here. It made me realize there's good music out there. I used to just listen to the shitty radio stations, playing the same 8 songs over and over. Thanks /mu/. Right now I'm enjoying The Ape of Naples because of you guys.
Thank you /mu/ I owe you everything for this album
now he's one of my favorite artists ever, thank you guys
i almost never gave it a second chance. i'm glad i did because it took a really long time before it ever stopped getting better with each listen.
>>52747879
Actually this. I thought Kanye was a mainstream fag, but I really liked this album and it (along with RATM) made me interested in hip hop, which I dismissed previously as "not really music".
Honestly, I am grateful.
>>52743196
YEWW, FOOK LIKE A RACEEEHOORRSE.
/mu/ was wrong. Also, right.
>>52746191
Also saw it recommended on here and really loved it.
>>52744310
damn my brother just showed me them cuz we're both huge Women fans
dope taste anon
>>52748124
Same here, it's honestly a great album
Amazing how you can go from "this is barely even acceptable" to "this is probably the greatest hip hop release in the past five years" in only a few listens. On the second or third listen you realize you like Bitch I'm Lugubrious then you go back and love Serious Shit and the second verse in Radiation and then you fall in love with the whole thing.
>>52747524
well that wasn't bad until the vocals kicked in.
>>52747897
>tfw no qt chelsea wolfe to cuddle and listen to black metal with in the winter
why even live?
Still one of my all-time favorites
>>52746191
This and OP, as well as Yellow Swan's Going Places
tindersticks - curtains
I'm mostly into metal and almost never listen to music like this, but i saw it in a sharethread one day and just dl'd without looking. very enjoyable
>>52749069
this
This
The amount of "It's Great" and "It's Shit" got me interested enough to decide for myself
And I love it
>>52744067
Without a doubt
>>52750900
does the phrase 'less is more' mean anything to the creator? I appreciate the effort, but a chart needs to be concise and this isn't.
>>5274787
Amazing album!
This is the proto GY!BE and Swans. God damn, A New Kind of Water hits so hard.
Their self titled is great too, less political as well.
It has since become one of my absolute favorite albums. I snatched on a whim from a sharethread way back when, before I ever got properly into jazz - at that time I had only listened to a Dave Brubeck compilation and Miles Davis' Kind of Blue. What an amazing ride this album took me on. When the final notes of the Part II run out, I had to hold back tears because the music was so beautiful. Thank you, anonymous user who uploaded and shared this album. Thank you a lot.

>>52750812
these were so terribly disappointing
>>52750900
this chart seems to be only 10/10 albums and 6/10 albums
>>52744458
Different guy, but I agree, he's really nice. I met him once at a garage show in NH. He doesn't strike me as the kind of person that would blatantly ignore fan requests to interact with him.
>>52750927
This is why i asked him to make a tiny version.
>>52746159
My favorite album of all time. I found it on /mu/ after asking for Cloud Rap albums with substance. It was all I ever looked for in music and more.
Pic related is the second best, Meme - Chitotetochi. Anybody who enjoys folk music on any level needs to listen to this.
>>52754185

>>52754192
also reccing this
Really enjoyed this shit. Especially the somerspace canopy part. Canopy and buzzlightbeer were my 2 favorite songo of last year. Saw it in a bandcamp thread
Someone recommended this band to me a few months back, and they quickly went on to be my favourite of all time.
Can't forget this.
>>52744729
>A$AP Rocky
>Aesop Rock
I'm assuming it's the former, but which one?
>>52750899
I'm never sure if people are serious when they post this.
>>52753231
Heat.
>>52744119
I spent about a year obstinately not listening to /mu/core because I didn't want to be a drone
Finally gave in and listened to ITAOTS and now it's my favourite album
>>52756237
It's not even that inaccessible. I'm never sure if people are serious when the post dumb stuff like this.
>>52747582
it isnt
>>52746912
what the heck are you talking about, the cover is great and fits extremely good with album feels
>>52757976
yeah you're right it's just fagott
my german's shite
>>52756395
It's pretty good.
As much shit as I'd like to give people who act like drones listening to only /mu/core there's a surprising number of solid albums that /mu/ recommends.
But it is good to branch out and listen to what you enjoy or figure out what it is you enjoy. That's how I use /mu/ recs anyways. Take a sample from some genre, explore a bit deeper if I like it. If I find more stuff I enjoy great, if not oh well.
This and i regret i havent heard it earlier
