And yeah, although our overall styles are fairly different (we may both be R&B artists at heart, but we definitely go in completely different directions with our sounds), I definitely love the Weeknd's music, so I'm not surprised he's influenced me in some form. I live in a really rural area (Mississippi), and I am finding a hard time finding places to play my music at. Could someone give me some ideas? How do I get "out" there and get into the local scene? The only guy I know here is in The Holy Ghost Electric Show. (you might know them from bandcamp threads, they're pretty good) They said I might be able to open for them, but they are more focusing on recording right now. I think I would stick to one genre of my music (the indie folk such as Two Ships, Leaf Stone, and Oh Jeremih) if I were to play a live show. Halp me /mu/!
