The surge in popularity with vegetarianism and veganism brought a lot of changes to my local restaurant scene, which was nice, because now I have more options to choose from. If being "straight-edge" suddenly caught on and became the new fad, maybe more restaurants and bars would include fancier non-alcoholic drinks and/or consider having a dedicated barista position. That would be nice.
