Dude, that snarky reply is not gonna help with your reputation. I suggest leaving /mu/ for like 2-3 month when all the trolls forget. Seriously. You're ruining the thread for everybody.

>My First Song
(been making music for almost a year, my pal overheard me and told me to upload this one.)
i return all feedback, gonna check out your stuff and leave feedback on the actual soundcloud pages
Kind of relevant question. Do any of you guys find yourself watching band cringe videos on YouTube through /mu/ threads or something before a band practice or just in general and realize that if you were to record your practice and upload it it would probably be the cringiest thing ever and then your motivation kind of goes down?
>>bay area with 80` influence.99 bpm hip-hop beat
Sounds clean. That high hat is relentless.
A lot going on in this track. Going all over the place. Very creative.
I like the flow. Could be that I am listening on crappy speakers but the vocals are drowning out the music.
I usually don't like live stuff but this was cool. Mic placement seemed no where near the guitars or they needed to be cranked up a little. You guys sound good.
Very trippy stuff. Not really what I am into but the quality is great. Nice work.
Digging your sound. Did I hear a Link sample in there? Fun listen, thanks.
Interesting. These tracks are going everywhere.
Haha this was fun. That pic is great too. Your sub could use a little more juice.
Sound is crisp. Nice melody. I like.
Eclectic sound. Reminds me of a models runway. Good stuff.
Digging stuff. Sounds like you should be on the radio. Good mainstream sound.
Listened to a few of your tracks. Very heavy sound. A lot happening there.
Sick flow and the track sounds good. The vocals are sounding a little "boxy". Maybe compress a little.
Not for me but keep doing what you do anon.
Fresh sound. Really good stuff. Followed.
Beautiful. That track sent me on a journey. Thanks :)
Lol the real bong song.
dat intro is golden. Great work. Followed.
Killing the flow.
Trippy sound. I may need stronger drugs :)
CHill mode but the vocals seemed a little too powerful. Good melody.
Dope anon. Remind me of Nuj. Killed it. Followed.
Arty kind of sound. Not usually my thing but this was really good. Reminded me of Wailers live recordings. Keep it up.
Great sound. The melodies are beautiful. Over all quality is really good.

feedback/advice would be much appreciated
Diggin the heavyness m8. Mixing could be better, as in the vocals are drowned out a little bit by the guitar. Still solid work. The change up to accoustic was highly unexpected and ended up being pretty cool.
I'm a virgin to this type of music, as in I don't think I've listened to enough to really be a fair judge, I will say that it sounds reasonably professional. I'M SORRY I CAN'T OFFER MORE.
Good grief, you've got that low end under wraps. An issue I tend to find with a lot of /mu/sicians is a weak low end of their music, so it sounds flat, but that's not the case here. I will say that it is almost too prominent though.
9.5/10. Great shit anons. Production quality is great and though I don't really listen to rock much, it feels like you've got a really unique sound.
Oh boy, that rhode is great. I think all that its missing is maybe a pad some space, but that's me being biased cause I love that shit. You've got some srs talent m8. Upload more of your shit.
New track. My profile is plagued with reposts, but I promise I have plenty of other tunes buried in there somewhere.

Will return feedback
Hey guys, wouldn't mind some feedback on this song I'm in the middle of writing atm. The final will not be recorded by my snowball it's just that FL10 is mucking up for me at the moment and doesn't like ASIO.
>soft guitar, WIP to a song i'm writing
Just finished a song today, I have a snippet posted already but i'll be posting the full song in a bit I just have to finish mixing. Just looking for feedback on that or the other tracks and what I could improve on. Also looking for rappers who want a beat or wanna rap over one of the songs I have up.
>Instrumental hip hop, electronic, spacey
Will be returning feedback on here or on SC depending where its posted
P.S. you don't have to say you're from 4chan or /mu/ in the comment, I'll know where you're from
Would love some feedback on the music m80s, ill return any feedback also!
>downtempo electronica, sampling
new track, haven't posted in a while but i finally got a decent pair of headphones to help with my mix. i'll b lurking the thread of course
Uploaded a couple of loops earlier
Liked the first few chord changes very much. Jeff Buckley vibes. In terms of guitar playing, the timing is quite off in the right hand (assuming you're right handed), and left hand needs some more work adjusting to the chords. Nothing a few hours of practise won't fix tho.
Love the intro and the ambient textures. The beat get a little bit to static for my liking. But might just by me being biased towards a more "played" feel.
My band jammed (even on stage) and there were always good moments, but yes always looking back at a younger self you cringe. Even though it's all envy. I wish I still made shit like this.
Now I make folk
Reposting cause I posted a bandcamp link instead of soundcloud like a mong
>folk pop punk
chill, dreamy, would smoke blunts with
sounds nice, kinda boring, doesn't develop much. Get some better drum sounds.
alright, tighten your playing up a little bit. Shitty guitar tone though, sounds like your using presets on a Line6 Spider or something. Songwriting is pretty good though.
pretty nice, not the kind of stuff I usually listen to, like the melody and use of vocal samples. Maybe turn the claps down a bit
was gonna write this off as pretentious shite, but then the drums and saw came in. Work on your singing, you walk the fine line between charming and just plain bad. Everything goes on for like twice as long as it should.
mixing is fucking awful. The drums don't bang at all, while some random samples are way too loud. Could be good with some work.
probably wouldn't listen to this on my own time, but I would dance to it while drunk and/or rolling. Kinda predictable and repetitive, but yeah this isn't really my cup of tea so take that with a grain of salt I guess
love that synth and the vocal sample. Bass drum sounds hollow, hihats are way too loud. Kept waiting for the cathartic climax but it never came
I am already a huge fan of your work and have been since the Junior Beams EP. No criticism here (though I kinda miss the twee sound of Junior Beams, but whatever), keep writing songs and honing your craft.
fuck this corny midi-ass bullshit
sounds like you're rapping into your iphone late at night and you're trying not to wake your parents up. Has potential, just get a better mic and practice your delivery a bit
For your stuff: make some real songs (or beats or whatever) to go around these spacey interludes, man.
For you and your buddy: see the last part of this post
unrelentingly bad, anyone can fuck around and then apply a bunch of effects to make it sound SOOO TRIPPY MANE
i think you're being a bit rough on those last two. maybe they both go heavy on the effects but it's not done carelessly. props on giving all that feedback even if you haven't gotten to me yet. post yours and i'll return the favour
>sounds like you're rapping into your iphone late at night and you're trying not to wake your parents up. Has potential, just get a better mic and practice your delivery a bit
I would download this critique as a track if I had bandwidth
Just broke 500 followers, thanks yall
>ambient, chill, hip hop, drone
This is the song I've been happiest with recently
Aside from the quality this is pretty enjoyable, I like your voice a lot, keep at it and I hope you can improve your recording situation soon.
I like this, I'd say you should improve the way the drums flow into one another, but otherwise this is pretty good.
cont'd from >>52063325
sounds pretty cool, but when you strip away all the spacey effects and shit they're just boring songs. Work on writing some more interesting melodies
again, would smoke blunts with. Climax comes kinda suddenly and doesn't hit hard enough imo
I was in a band like this in high school, I laughed which I guess was probably your intention
I was gonna diss your use of the Simpsons sample at the beginning but was pleasantly surprised when it was actually incorporated into the song. Again, I don't know shit about EDM (wouldn't call this "minimal" though), though I would shake my ass to this
Holy fuck. Sick beat, sick flow.
I don't even know what to say to this. Honestly it's really annoying but it the recording quality is very good. I don't know why you'd take the time to make something like this
Not experimental. Very chill. Would smoke blunts with. I enjoyed it, songs are well structured and the aesthetiic is fully realized
Nicely done. Vocal sample is too loud most of the time though
Sounds like an unrehearsed jam recorded with a laptop mic. Shambling and mediocre.
More like trapwave black metal or something. Honestly would've been better as an instrumental.
Get a drummer.
Spacey, kinda doesn't develop into anything interesting though. Probably fun to trip out to though.
Critique of your music: everything is too trebly, would probably sound better with muddier production. Drums aren't loud enough in the mix.
Critique of your label: shite album art across the board. A run of 100 tapes costs $100 at most you cheap-ass motherfucker.
Love your drum sound, though the programming is kinda generic. Mix it up a bit, do something different with the synths every once in a while
Tune your damn guitars
New song, thankful for any feedback.
>Jazz downtempo Hip hop
PM if you want to collaborate, looking for rappers for a rework of one of my tracks
Please give me criticism CLASSICAL MUSIC

Nice riffing. Sounds pristine. Maybe turn the echo down a bit, kinda gets in the way.
Has potential, get some better mics and practice more. Vocals should be higher in the mix, I know how it feels to dislike your voice and to want to hide it but you really just gotta put yourself out there. And remember, clipping is bad
Maybe introduce a second melody line to add some variety.
significantly better than I expected, diggin' that saxophone sample
Nice atmosphere, like that synth melody. Drum sounds are kinda generic.
Oh damn. Upload more shit. Could use some more bass though.
I'm so tired of hearing stuff like this. It's obvious you put a lot of work in, the production is meticulous. Put that work towards something else please. Also fuck off with your weird text map characters, this isn't 2011.
Sorry man, awful remix.
Nice atmosphere, good mixing. Get a heavier sounding bass drum. It's over way too soon.
Ominous shit. Very repetitive though the rapping kinda hides that.
Chill vibes. Even though it's under 2 minutes long it kinda drags, add some more variety maybe.
Worse than The Shaggs, and you're not a bunch of prepubescent girls so you don't even have an excuse.
Love the atmosphere, hate your snare sound. Sounds hollow, and some of the places where there are two or more snare hits in succession sound very clumsy, almost like it's lagging behind the beat.
Nice stuff. Take some of low-end out of your voice, it kind of drowns out everything else.
fucking around with a delay pedal-core. Nice guitar tone but that's about all it has going for it. Repeat this riff, repeat that riff, repeat that all a few times. Change the strumming pattern at the end. Work on your songwriting, get a real drummer.
>beats, vaporwave inspired, heavily reliant on samples
help me out here I've been producing for maybe a month now
>was gonna write this off as pretentious shite, but then the drums and saw came in. Work on your singing, you walk the fine line between charming and just plain bad. Everything goes on for like twice as long as it should.
XD thanks dude I will/am, and I'm 0% pretentious (assume you're talking about the medieval folk track?) I just really love that tune (and yeah you're right it would be talentless hacks itt to not add anything to it)
~just a kid tryna live his dream~
Critique of your music: everything is too trebly, would probably sound better with muddier production.
I feel you on that dude, I used my practise amp w/ treble on max and no bass, also mixed with broken $5 ear phones, actually looking forward to making more music in the similar vein (albeit more ambient/atmos) when I wrap up all my current projects
>Drums aren't loud enough in the mix.
This I know, was recorded ages ago (few months before quoted release date on that site) and I only had one sm-57 pointed in the middle of the kit.
Thanks for the listen and the feedback bro
>Critique of your label: shite album art across the board. A run of 100 tapes costs $100 at most you cheap-ass motherfucker.
It's not my label (I do run a faux-net label for all my projects and friends projects -it's really a really fun way to store stuff/showcase- but none of them are related to the bandcamp i linked), it's a guy from america who I found online and decided to co-release with. But fair call anyway? Idk, thanks again for the listen dude.
Gonna do some feedback after I post, gimme a sec.
>Mostly Hip-Hop, lot's of singing also
You are our lord and savior.
As a sinner my biggest problem is that I like too much music.
I like most of this. My only complaint is the amount of noise some of the drums make on a few of the songs. Like, they aren't too loud themselves, they just produce a lot of extra sound.
Well, fuck, just got off a temporary block for my image, post was also deleted. Here's a cat, instead. Reposting:
I really like "The Lumineer," the supreme use of varied dynamics and tension makes it a truly dramatic experience
Very good, the thick lead synth contrasts well with the ethereal choir voices
>Noisy experimental electronic music
Decent music. I'm not into the blues track, but for blues, it definitely lacks soul.
You seem to re-use a lot of similar sounds, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but since you're not making albums out of your tracks... It's just recycling at that point.
cont'd from >>52064805\
I don't know anything about the various subgenres of electronic music and even I can tell this isn't DnB. That part where there are snare hits over and over again sounds really bad. Like your synths though.
Groovy off-kilter rhythms, terrible sound design
Like another anon said, not at all experimental. Awful bass synth. Like that piano line, and that violin (?) sample that comes in when the bassline drops out. Diversify your song structure a bit.
Would smoke blunts with. Maybe put the vocal sample lower in the mix.
Sounds pretty awkward. The drums and rhythm guitar kinda stumble along, and the tone of the lead guitar is incongruous with the atmosphere of the rest of the track
Hot shit, man. Not really much advice I can give on this one.
Seems like this is a recurring problem, but your bass drum sounds really hollow and lacking in bass. Singer sounds like he's trying to be sexy but is missing that special something
very quiet, had to crank my volume to max to even hear anything. Playing is clumsy with a ton of mistakes. Interesting chord progression though.
Would've been better without that snare and that clap. They clash hard with the mellowness of the synth melody.
Judging by your vocals, you've never been within 5 miles of a club. Your flow is shit, and your voice is shit. Your beat is nice though, but you just ruin it.
mix sounds damn good, plenty of bass. Not a fan of that tambourine sound though.
Guitar lacks bass, and you don't need to yell we can hear you just fine.
fuckin bangs, excellent attention to detail
Conversely, does not bang very hard, no attention to detail whatsoever. Your ambient stuff is better.
unrelentingly bad, anyone can fuck around and then apply a bunch of effects to make it sound SOOO TRIPPY MANE
