Is Franz Berwald ever considered the greatest Romantic composer of his time? No. He wrote good music but compared to the other musicians of his time, he was ordinary, undistinctive. Likewise with Stamitz, Pleyel, and all manner of classical era composers.

I don't get why they get so much hate. They have a great blend of post-rock and ambient influence, their guitar tone and mixing is spot-on, their songwriting actually has forward progression, which is valuable in a genre that relies on verse-chorus structure too much. Uninteresting shoegaze bands to me would be Cheatahs, Conheartist, Swervedriver, She Sir, or A Sunny Day in Glasgow.

Have you actually ever even listened to No Joy holy fucking shit. They change up their guitar sound on almost every song on Wait 2 Pleasure. I agree that Ghoste Blonde is a little monotonous. But with whirr its like their guitar same guitar tone is consistent across the board with each release they put out which in turn make everything they make sound the exact same. No Joy is taking steps forward while Whirr is just staying stagnant on the same ideas theyve had for the past couple years.
