Awh man it seems like everyone has a MicroKorg but me
>>
why do you have so many controllers
>>
>>51129094
kek'd
>>
>>51129116
I really do want one though
>>
>>51128417
It's because historically, those instruments were mostly made out of dinosaurs.
>>
>>51129131
i was talking about the ayy lmao
but i feel you bruh, tried one at my music store and it's so much fun
>>
>>51129155
>i was talking about the ayy lmao
oh haha, I forgot I put that in there. and yeah they have a good feel and the vocoder is a really good sounding one too
>>
>>51129094
Get an ms2000 instead. Microkorg that's easier to program.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZaVU_vqaMSU
>>
>>51129225
That is kind of impressive but idunno. I just wanted a lil' toy and since I'm very prone to gearfagging-out it's best if I keep the blinders on or else I start buying shit I can't afford or really have no business orwning
>>
Anyone know any good cheap drum machines?
>>
>>51129297
I've seen these drop to almost as low as microkorgs. You're an idiot if you take a microkorg over one of these as it's the exact same engine just a lot easier to use. It's actually a really decent piece of gear.
>>
>>51129350
I'll have to look into it and maybe if I see one within the same price range. Also didn't they update the MK in the last 2-3 years and give it a way better engine than the original? I think the current MKs are quite a bit advanced from that now
>>
>>51129406
Not that I know of. The black ms2000b models are the updated versions. After using both for a while the microkorg is a waste of parts that could have been used to make more ms2000s.
>>
>>51129450
It's the "MicroKorg XL" that I was thinking of. A couple synth guru friends of mine insisted that I get that one over the regular one, but idunno I haven't had a chance to play with the XL one at all yet
>>
>>51129306
how cheap?

volca beats is a decent one for about $150. I had one, it sounds good but there's not a lot of variety of sounds.

Korg ER-1 is a personal favourite of mine. Huge variety of sound, pretty deep synthesis engine, lots of cool little things like multiple audio inputs, a really cool delay, ring modulation, etc. I got mine for $160 last year, but the prices seem to be going up now

There are tons of 80s sample based drum machines if you're into that kind of thing. some of them are actually really cool, but you can basically get the same thing by downloading a sample pack off the internet and using the sounds in your DAW because there is no synthesis involved. Roland R8, Yamaha RX5, Boss dr550 are some good ones

>based organ
almost bought a mostly working Lowrey organ at a thrift store for 50 bucks. no room at home though
>>
>>51129504
Dont even bother with that either. You could definitely get an ms2000b for as much as one of those or less.

There are still better digital modelling synths for the price but ms2000 is going to be a really good piece of gear as far as usability, sound, and price.
>>
>>51129574
Are the Volca Beats able to create some harsh heavy sounding stuff? Most of the demo's i've heard make it sound really minimalist/ electronic.
>>
>>51129597
Yeah I do love it! Once you find one that has what you need and is working jump on it, take care of it, and you won't ever have to replace it. You can do better on the price - check Craiglist or whatever. They're heavy and obsolete, so people are giving them away for free or nearly free everywhere.

>>51129634
Coo' coo', thanks for the info. I'll definitely keep that in mind if/when I decide to buy one or the other
>>
>>51129695
Also keep in mind other modelling synths that should be around that price like the yamaha an1x series or some of the digital modelling roland JP series.

>>

I found one in the trash and almost threw my back out putting it in my van.
>>
>>51129664
yeah, probably. just put it through some external distortion.
>>
>>51129770
What type of mixer do you got below your monitor?
>>
>>51129808
Just a behringer eurorack 2004a

It's a bit overkill for my desk but I got it for free so I cant complain. Going to swap it out for a small soundcraft one eventually.
>>

It just looked like it was well compact

>>
>>51129858
Nah its a big 20 channel. Takes up too much space.

>>51129863
Working on it right now actually. My midiverb 2 died so thats not cool though.
>>
guy who rec'd the ms2000, it's fucking great. I got a microkorg so i could into synths but then I was like wtf and then I found the MS2000r(cheaper if you have a midi) and I learned so much from it, it is a fucking GREAT synth.

The only issue is the internal clock for arps is not precise and I don't know how to update the firmware
>>
any tips for newcomer fag musician??
just tell me a good recording mic for keyboard and my bass?
don't want to spend a lot of money I'm still in college and I'm trying to get back into to this music recording stuff
>>
>>51131075
Yeah I've heard stuff about that. Apparently it's an issue on a lot of korg synths. Aside from that it is very solid even with only 4voice polyphony.

It's a good thing taste is subjective and that they're my guitars then. They're all great guitars, sold the ESP awhile back though, waiting on payment for it.

>>51133185

Jesus, man. I'm extremly jelous in a good way, I hope you are using that guitar for good, sorry if I seemed a bit agressive with my comment.

How much was it? I'm left handed and that guitar would be extremly difficult for me to get.

All good. My guitars tend to get hate because they're they're pointy and it's cool to hate on Gibson.

Retail for a Les Paul Custom is $6700 here. I didn't pay that, but yeah...

I have it tuned to B Standard, but I don't play breakdowncore or anything along those lines.

pic is most of my hardware. shit quality pic, and posed picture, this isn't actually how I work. The Yamaha p-105 (on the right) doubles as a MIDI controller
Mesa Boogie F100 (all valve) head, Marshall 1960 Lead Quad, Jackson Rhoads, Jackson V, Cort acoustic, Cello, Roland microcube, and a Lowrey electric organ. Also there's my old M-audio MIDI controller.
Not Pictured: The most important piece of hardware, the assembly point: My computer.
Also have some pedals floating around, Boss DD-6, Metal zone, chromatic tuner. Also have a violin but its in terrible condition.

The black box behind the scores on the electric organ on the left is a Theremin

i was only pretending to be retarded :DDD
i've been producing for a few months and just use qwerty keyboard for everything and im used to it do i actually need a midi keyboard
>>
>>51133462
>do i actually need a midi keyboard

no but they can be really helpful
>>
>>51133500
but how its the same thing as qwerty
>>
>>51133462
Midi keyboard is handy as fuck.
I didn't realize how much I would use it until I had one. just used mouse and keyboard for years and years.

now that I use a lot of keyswitch instruments (where the technique is controlled by 8 or 9 keys in the lower register) gotta have an 88 key to use them properly. plus the Yamaha doubles as an electric piano/organ/etc so is great for writing and improvising at.

for your feat you should take preferred enemy: Tripfag
dont' forget to do your skill points too.
might want to take some more ranks in sarcasm :^)
