- Try some stuff by Manual. He's released a lot of ambient music but there is some material that is melodic, can't remember what's what though. He also featured in some Slowdive tribute comp too.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ew2qWBMYopQ
- Seefeel - Quique
- I've heard some stuff by bvdub that reminded me a bit of Pygmalion. Mostly ambient stuff but he has some less etheral music here and there too.

None of this may sound at all like Pygmalion to you, but I associate these things together, I think, because I came across the album through slow quiet music, things like the 5 EP, rather than through shoegaze, like Soulvaki.

Not familiar with any of the other music listed in this thread

----
Zoviet France - Shadow, Thief of the Sun

It's called Stormy Records. It used to be upstairs from a comic book shop, but they've both since moved a block over and they're next to each other in separate shop spaces. And yes, their selection is remarkable. Dearborn Music is the other, bigger record store in the area but they carry bigger names. Stormy always has pretty much every single Kranky record available. They do cassettes there too, which I think is sweet.

The crazy percussion, the twisted melodies, the way songs like Full of Fire just slowly descend into hell.

Generally, I just like the Art-Poppy tracks (i.e. the non avant-ambient ones), and Oryx and Crake (although i wish they were longer).

I love how its like Silent Shout but with the crazyness turned up to 10^4

Haven't heard of dadrock.
Listening to Odessey and Oracle right now

Oh man, this is my shit.

Sorted by order how much you will like them:

Superpitcher - Killimanjaro
Machinedrum - Rooms / Vapor City
Matt Karmil - ---- (the title is just 4 dash symbols, you can find this on Soulseek)
Yagya - Sleepygirls (AOTY)
Oneohtrix Point Never - Replica
Kaito - Hundred Million Lightyears
Deepchord Presents Echospace - Liumin

Get really into Kompakt Records, download all of their comps. Except the Pop Ambient comps because that's obviously not your thing.

But seriously, you don't like Gas? That really sucks. Did you try out Modern or Pop?

Ah. Well, a lot actually. I love the Beatles, the Who, Yes, Supertramp, Rolling Stones, the Police
That's pretty much it I guess

:D

thanks a ton, anon! and, yeah, it was a bit disappointing - i still like it, i listened to Pop a few times at work this week. it's nice, and i enjoyed it (Pop 2 is really good), but my favorite The Field tracks are the ones with a bunch of rhythmic elements bouncing around, fading in and out. like that one part in Arpeggiated Love when some of the synths drop out and a line of clicks comes in and sounds like it's in a different time signature briefly that barely matches up - mmmmngh. and the guy knows how to write some super catchy melodies as well when he feels like it.

i'll look into all that stuff! cheers, mang

Have you tried out this chart yet?
>>
>>51054876
why does this never get replies
is it because there's literally nothing like it, or is it because there's a really obvious answer and nobody wants to give it?

I just started getting into Infinite Body, and I have A Winged Victory for the Sullen on my HDD as well.
