I need to find a good tape deck. None on CL in my area right now oddly. I used to rock tapes in my car until it started eating them. Which actually oddly satisfied childhood nostalgia.

one time my school for some reason opened up like a thrift shop on campus using a janitor's garage thingy. there was just a bunch of shit clothes but i found a cassette of Morrisey's Vauxhall and I for 25 cents. it doesnt have the cover though so no reason to post it.

Well I was gonna argue on the "indie cool" but you're right in a way. For me it's a cheap way to buy physical music. I don't buy cd's because why do that when I can just pirate it and why buy vinyl when I can't afford a record player. Tapes are cheap, look cool and I have a decent way of playing them.

I've heard that when people would play them in the past, the ribbon could get tangled up, and you would have to carefully, like, unwrap it without tearing it and then gently spool it back onto the spinning part. Like, this was a common thing people just had to deal with every day when they used this kind of media. And you can easily cut yourself on the edges. So, your favorite tape would have some of your blood on its ribbon after awhile. It's kind of romantic to think about. I wish there was still music made like that for real, and not just novelty releases.
