I love this jazz punk style, for me 385's album from last year Ningen is better than anything by Midori, but on RYM literally every review pans it for just being a midori clone, and my problem with this is, seriously why would you dislike an album for being the same genre as another album, like for some reason people dont want more Jazz Punk in this style

Mono are obviously fantastic, Uri Nakayama ( 中山うり ) is a comfy jazz accordion player, Afrirampo are a good noise rock band and OOIOO are an interesting spinoff of Boredoms.
Finally EGO-WRAPPIN' are a fantastic jazz band and the OST to the first Legend of the Overfiend film is brilliant if you can find it

the cabs's first 2 eps are good. emo/math with a really great noodly guitar player. lots of pulloffs into capos.
nuito is amazing math rock band. most creative tapping guitarist I've ever heard.
sajjanu is amazing. a thousand riffs go by per each song. a trio with 2 guitars and a drummer.
lagitagida is pretty good jam/bits of powermetal/psychadelic group.
I think kazumasa hashimoto and shuta hasunuma are from japan too. their music is so pleasant and immense.
Far france too! they're a noise/jam/punk band with a ton of energy

There was this one metal band that has apparently been around for a while. Their recent album was a picture of the three of them in the traditional Japanese drawing style. I think they were sludge metal, I don't remember what they were called.
