yo wp, please send opal tapes my mixtape man
daily reminder that DnB will never die
way too much remix based releases these days
it's like no one is even trying anymore
"I am", you see, "I am the creator,
and this is my house,
and in my house there is only house music.
But I am not so selfish because once you enter my house,
it then becomes our house
and our house music."
"And you see,
no one man owns house,
because house music is a universal language
spoken and understood by all.
You see house is a feelin'
that no one can understand really
unless you deep into the vibe of house.
House is a uncontrollable desire to jack your body,
and as I told you before,
this is our house
and our house music."

Why are there so many genres of EDM??? What's the difference between 'house' and 'drum and bass' since they're basically the same thing?
House is music with drums and bass and so is drum and bass music, why name it different?
Ethics aside, lets talk business now.
I'm producing pretty aimlessly right now. I might as well take advantage of the popularity of electronic music and do something with it.
What genres/subgenres can you see getting popular soon?
This year was clearly deep house's, but next year something new will slowly start to emerge, but I can't tell yet, unlike the last few years where it's all been extremely predictable.
About that Clouds EP/album. How come they released it as a smaller EP and then an album with more tracks later on? Why not just do one or the other?
>also did you get round to listening to my EP I sent you the other day
>no worries if not
I enjoy the DJ / producer lifestyle, I've been there and done it and I want to go back to it. Even if it wont earn me much money, I'll still be happier.
But realistically, given how the scene is, you need to be quick and doing the right thing at the right time, so anyone with the slightest intention of making a living off this knows that "make whatever you want" wont get you far unless you're creative and good enough to pioneer a new interesting sound.
It's not danceable enough, it's not a friendly genre. The occasional dnb track is well recieved and played, but the mainstream wont be interested in full-on dnb sets. Sigma, Wilkinson and a few others made some awful yet radio-friendly tracks, but there's always a handful of those every year, no matter what year.
I think that yearly handful of tracks is the closest dnb will ever be to mainstream.
