ITT: The most disingenuous genres/subgenres/microgenres and/or their fanbases on the planet
I'll start with some obvious ones
Midwestern Emo Revival and Skramz
Pretty much everything in /bleep/
most prog post-70s and a lot during the first wave
Noise/harsh noise etc
All of that sarcastic fusion shit like Frank Zappa and Mr Bungle
the majority of hardcore and punk
>post-rock and post-metal
Everyone I've known that plays in a band in those genres is a 20 something lower middle class white dude with facial hair and like two pairs of jeans with holes in them and puts pretty much all of their disposable income left over from paying the rent and buying weed and cigarettes into buying pedals and new amps
Fanbases might be pretentious or disingenuous but the musicians themselves rarely are
your a cunt then
>implying they aren't faking it for hipster cred and so are you
Uh, they literally all do
It's especially hillarious when the artists who are those things try to say "No I'm not I'm just me I was doing this before everyone called it _" despite sounding and looking exactly like everyone else in the genre
Same could be said for folk-punk
"Waaaah my parents won't pay for me to go to college for a political science degree and a minor in women's and gender studies anaaaaaarchy!"
If you can't understand why it just means you are a butthurt fan of any or all of the genres I listed and any attempt I give at explaining will be met with "Uh no" or "nice try troll"
No, if you make an attempt I will try to argue it based on what you bring up. I'm hardly buttblasted about you thinking Mr. Bungle is "disingenuous" I just have no idea how you came up with that.
>Assuming I'm mad about some guy on the internet with a different opinion
>Actually using the word "butthurt"
Yeah, you sure proved your point with the eloquence and grace of some guy angry about literally nothing
>try for dubs
>get the birth date of the greatest country instead
all i do is listen to folk, folk punk/rock whatever, study and play banjo. dont even care man. god i love the dubliners...
