Which one is which
>>

Slight difference because the trends are a bit different in Japan and Worst Korea.
Also Japan has more "weird" pop acts like Hi-Posi, Ringo Sheena/Tokyo Jihen and such.
>>
>>50082869
Western music is the former, all weebshit is the latter.
>>
J-pop is much more interesting and complex musically, k-pop is basically the same as western pop.

K-pop:

First one is C-pop and Cantopop.
Second one is K-pop and J-pop.
>>
>>50082943
OMG THIS IS TRULY COMPLEX
>>
>>50082803
Literally nothing. Even if there were stylistic differences, what fucking sense would it make to call a "k-pop" band from Japan "k-pop"?

Nakata
What is this?
Why did you make a 7 minutes trance track in 2013, and why is it on my Perfume album?
>>
K-pop is much more reminiscent of the 90s (in both Korea and America)
J pop's influences aren't as broad and its usually fairly more experimental in terms of production.
>>
>>50082803
k-pop is an imitation of western hip hop/dance pop that fans treat like sports team ruled over by shitty talent agencies. it's a giant reality show.

j-pop is a heavily produced style of pop music derived from old kayoukyoku and western pop/rock/disco from the '60s and '70s that came to a fore in the '90s. a lot of it is shit but there's some gems.

pretty good j-pop:

not really but j-pop is—i grant you—a lot more interesting in general.

>>50083008
edge is my favorite nakata song. ;_;

also it isn't instrumental.

And since when is Edge on Level 3?

you said
>posting one of the Perfume instrumental interludes

it's not one of the Perfume instrumental interludes

because it is not an instrumental

Well, considering the way the vocals are sampled, re-tuned, chopped and such, they are almost an instrument more than anything.
Not that there is anything wrong with that.
And not that it isn't already the point of Perfume in a way.
Actually, it would be interesting if Nakata and Perfume tried to go further down that road and make more long tracks with looser structures and less "traditional" singing.
At least it wouldn't give the impression that Perfume are stuck singing over leftover Kyary instrumentals played on a synth...

>not that it isn't already the point of Perfume in a way
welp

the lyrics are pretty easily comprehensible though, so i wouldn't put on that level personally.

>it would be interesting if Nakata and Perfume tried to go further down that road and make more long tracks with looser structures and less "traditional" singing.
that's pretty much capsule

>the impression that Perfume are stuck singing over leftover Kyary instrumentals played on a synth
this is probably the oldfag deep weeb j-pop fan in me speaking, but i always thought kyary was one note compared to perfume and capsule. i used to say that nakata's work could easily find an international audience and i thought it would be perfume that did it, but then kyary came out. perfume can do the cute thing, but they're a lot sleeker and more postmodern. oh well. i guess kyary fit the "weird girl" minaj/gaga thing better.

Which is more pleasing to masturbate to? That's the real measure of success at what they're trying to accomplish.

depends on your taste

i have long since outgrown momusu and akb's music but they are still onanistically nice. :^)

if you like identical girls made of plastic then goreans are great. sunny from snsd and that hamsterface from kara are cute tho.

>kyary was one note compared to perfume and capsule.
Kyary is apparently all ready to go much further with crazy aesthetic and image, which can be interesting especially when coupled with matching music which has pretty much been the case so far. It's just not the same thing since she completely stays out of the "technopop" side of things and is more like a continuation of shibuya-kei instrumental madness.
Then the problem is that Nakata is busy milking every last cent out of her to care about Perfume and Capsule.
