What is Animal Collective's Abbey Road, Sgt Peppers, Revolver, The White Album and so on?
ODDSAC is great, dude.
At the very least an 8/10.
As for visuals it varied. Avey and Deak's parts were GOAT.
I don't know, but:
Please Please Me-Help
Magical Mystery Tour
>Hail To The Thief
The White Album
>The King Of Limbs
Let It Be
A Link to the Past
Ocarina of Time
I think Sgt Pepper's deserves all the praise it gets. Most of the songs in it are masterpieces songwriting wise and really show the prodigy they all were at making music. It is without a doubt one of the most important pieces of popular music ever made.
MPP = Sgt.Pepper
Fall Be Kind and/or Strawberry Jam = Magical Mystery Tour
since the albums on each parrallel are both very similar in concept as well as release dates. MMT and Sgt. Pepper are sort of like spiritual successors to one another.
I honestly still don't follow you.
MMT was a collection of singles coming out of the Sgt. Pepper's era.
While Fall Be Kind is in MPP's era, Strawberry Jam era is distinct from MPP era.
>How does MPP parallel Sgt. Pepper in concept?
>MMT was a collection of singles coming out of the Sgt. Pepper's era.
Fall Be Kind came out of the MPP era, and since MPP and Sgt. Peppers are both their most acclaimed albums, then Fall Be Kind = Magical Mystery Tour
Just because MMT came before Sgt. Peppers and it sounds like a lot of what they were going for on Sgt. Peppers, but in development.
Strawberry Jam came out before MPP and it sounds a lot like what they were going for, but in development.
Obviously Fall Be Kind is the better comparison, but
Remission = Kill Em All
Leviathan - Ride the Lightning
Blood Mountain - Master of Puppets
Crack the Skye - And Justice for All
The Hunter - Black album
Once More Round the Sun - Load
nothing can save Mastodon now
If FBK was a double EP with a film it'd be the perfect comparison, which is why adding ODDSAC, which was a visual album made in the same era as MPP, makes it as good as you'll get for generalized comparisons.
