I'm not familiar with m6 chords, how do you play them?
>>
>>49710570
You can just wiki minor sixth chords..

But a Bbm6 is a Bbm (Bb-C#-F) with an added G.
>>
>>49710320
this is good, but the way I'm strumming it I'd add a B at the end
>>

If you're feeling pain, I've got a dope chord progression that you might not have heard of. It's a little ditty that goes

F

I can't seem to create any original chord progressions, everything I play is basically derived from some common chord progression

I'm not really digging the Bmaj7, I'd replace it with a B7 or regular B

I love maj7 chords, but I don't really think it fits in there

Oh my god, I LOVE that second one.

I incorporate it into most ballads I write. The first song I remember hearing it in is "You See Me Crying" by Aerosmith.

I'm working on in D minor which is the saddest of all keys, I find.

People weep instantly when they hear it, and I don't know why.
>>
I have a tangently related question. What does it mean when there's a flat in roman numeral analysis? For example, when someone says to use triads build on I - bIII - bVI - V or whatever.

Come on, we can at least be a little helpful. I understand it's a simple question but there's something to be said for not being so dismissive.

>>49711612

bIII means a major chord built on the flattened third scale degree. For example, in C major, bIII would be Eb major. This idea extends to other scale degrees, so bVI would be Ab major. These are often analyzed as chords "borrowed" from related keys or modes. Both bIII and bVI appear in the parallel minor. If you want some more examples/related reading look up borrowed chords or alt
>>
Apparently missed a word and a half backspacing to rewrite that. The above post should end with "borrowed chords," and the "or alt" is there for no reason
