I was the "fuck you" guy; I was calling him a lazy piece of shit. But I completely get why you would get confused. No worries.

Got anymore surf rock? I hate it when people think garbage like wavves and surferblood are surf rock.
Anyone have Mozart's Cosi fan Tutte?
Any recording you have is fine, just give me whatever you have.
Fatso Jetson - Stinky Little Gods
> Surf/Stoner/Desert/Caveman rock. Very precise and hypnotic grooves with bizarre instrumentation and time signatures. If you've ever wondered what it felt like to drown on peyote, it'd probably sound like Stinky Little Gods.

Armchair Martian - Monsters Always Scream
> Pop punk/Alt-Country. Armchair Martian combines the lighter punk sound of bands like the Descendents with country influences like slides, with feelsy lyrics that would feel right at home on the Blue Album. Great post-breakup music.

Does anyone have REM bootlegs. I have everything by them that they have officially released, studio, live, b-sides. But i need some bootlegs, like Return of Rickenbackers of Peave and Love, Anyone?
Mort Garson - Plantasia
> Plantcore. Plantasia is dreamy 70's Moog synth music, ostensibly recorded for the purposes of playing the music for your plants so they grow happy and healthy. It kind of feels like listening to something you really shouldn't be listening to, like a cult tape.

Brant Bjork - Jalamanta

Bidziliba - RocQ (2001)
>Rock, Bebop, Field Recordings, Musiquè Concretè, Sound Collage, and other genres that I don't recognize all that well.
>Kind of obscure (nothing in youtube, at least)

Agitation Free - Malesch (1972)
>Krautrock, Space Rock, Acid Psych
An amazing story behind this exceptional slice of Krautrock. The band members travelled to Egypt and composed music based on their experiences there, interweaving field recordings made in Egypt into their compositions. Guitar drones and early synthesizer experiments make up the bulk of this, but there’s enough room for soaring, proggy rifferama for songs like “Rücksturz” here too.

I know i'm a plen but here what i've been listening too recently,

If anyone can help me find a link to any of Big Syke's solo albums that would be a god-send.

Start with
William Basinski - Disintegration Loops
Boris - Flood
Brian Eno - Music for Airports
Stars of the Lid is a good one too
Any Harold Budd
Jason Lescallet does the trick too
>>49172193
Found it on soulseek anon, just look it up by the album title

thanks man i'll check em out, should I go in that order?
yo i searched the archive all over does anyone have a link for mac demarco 2
when i look for it i only find salad days salad days demos and 2 demos but not just plain "2"
>>49176324
Disintegration Loops are literally the same loop over and over again for an hour or so. If you can handle that, you can handle most of what drone and ambient throws your way
But if you want to start with things closer to "normal music" then start with Eno.
>>49176407
What the fuck really? I was expecting a revelation or somthing, im pretty surea lot of people love drone
someone got The Verve's s/t?
Does anyone have the Ritualz album CDR?

if anyone has any requests i will try to fill them in return
>>49159971
Holy shit thank you so much
>>49176452
Listening to drone is like reading unabridged Moby Dick or grinding for XP in an RPG. Some people like it because it's very passive and you can kinda enter your own mind while doing it.
Most people get bored of the shit and want action
I know it's probably the most cliche thing, maybe, I don't know this board, but I'm into four specific things - funk/glitch, downtempo/ambient hip-hop, folk, and dub/dubstep/bass. I also like rap, but that's sort of the first two combined with words in it.
I have a few suggestions that you've probably heard of:
1. Defunk, Beat Fatigue, Opuio, Monkey Bars, JPOD, Filip Rasch, Boifrenz, and Blunt Instrument are some of my favorite artists in the first category. I like contemporary remixes of swing, in most forms, and I suppose that's Parov Stelar and Caravan Palace, with a few glitch n swings by other artists.
2. Ulrich Schnauss, Emancipator, Trentemoller and Wax Tailor make up a good chunk of this playlist. I make my own to hit on aspects that I want to hear but haven't found yet.
3. This would be most of the vocal tracks on my iPod. I like studio polish (I know, something something pleb), so I'll go with Gaelic Storm and High Kings as my favourites. My favourite instrumentals are by Alasdair Fraser (fucking love him) and Old Blind Dogs. Irelan'
4. This is my heartgenre. It's my soul. I was raised with this bullshit. My taste has evolved since then, though, and while I still like artists like Skream and Hatcha and Rusko (a lot), I also like a lot of future garage-y things and breakbeatish stuff. I don't follow any particular artists in these genres, though.
Oddly enough, my favourite all-time artist is Billy Joel.
Any suggestions? I got a new iPod that still has a fuckton of space and I'm looking to fill it up.

>>49180532
have you tried the archive
>>49180509
caravan palace is parov-stelar tier
it's "classy" and it may be good, but it's fedoraesque
>>49180620
can't you explain without using those generic meme technicisms?
>>49180740
look into your heart and know it to be true
it's one thing when you reply "tips fedora" to a death grips or aphex twin fan, or whatever, but it's entirely another when it's in reply to electroswing.
'fedora' really does apply to parov stelar and caravan palace, in the same way that it applies to steam-powered giraffe, but /mu/ took it too far and the insult has lost its credibility. it's a modern reimagining of old 1800's parlor music, but it's a poor emulation meant only to summon classy themes and archetypes.

>>49180930
You bring up a good point and I find that to be the case with a lot of "electroswing" bands which is unfortunate. I actually listen to big band and swing as well just because I really like the genre and I always thought Caravan Palace wasn't the closest to it but it stayed true to the "swing" feel and was extremely creative with it as well.
There are other bands that use the instruments of the genre (trumpet, trombone, etc) and really give more of a sense of a fusion of modern and old-timey music.
Here's an example which I really like:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIMtRRPs9nc

mixtape is probably the dumbest industry term to date. it's neither a cassette tape nor a mixtape. It's like "hey I don't know if this shits good so I'm releasing it as a "mixtape" don't trash me it's free mang." So basically it's just an album with bullshit marketing.
>>49184161
It's an evolving term. Acid Rap wouldn't have been a "mixtape" three years ago.
>>49184161
meh there's several reason i've seen for the usage of mixtape. one is name recognition and hype for what they hope to be debut album. if it's free, more people will listen to their shit in the future. they might not also have been able to accomplish all they wanted to in their project, so they release it for free, because they don't want it to go down in their album discography. anothe reason is like before, put their name out there so they might be able to form enough success to be able to accomplish everything they wanted. mixtapes are the safe route for up and coming artists, because there aren't really many downsides to it. also, sample clearings plays a huge role but that's given
