Love the chaos and mixture of the chiptunes with vocal samples, no criticism here
>>48677878
I'd like to see more variety within the tracks, maybe with different layers of samples and stuff like that. I like the skull trumpet sample
>>48677823
Loving the 'watery' nature to these tracks, very lush and organic. The glitchy and skittish drums are great too. There's no immediacy to tracks, not necessary a bad thing at all, you said yourself it's microhouse so the minimalism is meant to be there.
>>48677878
99% of vaporwave is terrible, don't feel bad, no only joking - Did you use a Megadrive to make some of this? I always think the Megadrive chip is a very underused chip, so well done if you did. This reminds me of pulling the cartridge out when the game is still on and fucking everything up. There's some good melodies hidden away here though.

I like the lush textures and minimalism, some parts remind me of "The Field".

Instrumentally sounds good, vocals feel out of place on some of the songs imo

I know I have said it before but this guy sounds exactly how I would imagine Ian Curtis would sound like today. The atmosphere of this EP is very depressive throughout and keeps you enchanted with its gloominess. Also, it's really just a guy with his deep voice and a guitar.

Slightly post-punk influenced. Most tracks have this lush, dark atmosphere to them, also sets off a somewhat depressive feeling. The instrumentaion is very eccentric and feels absolutely fresh. The German lyrics are also interesting, that is, of course, if you are able to understand German. Favorite tracks are 'Vor der Imbissbude' and 'Er erzählt'

To be honest, this record doesn't add anything new to the table of Shoegaze/Post-Punk, but that is completely fine to me. It's a great album you can enjoy while getting into your zone. Overall, it sounds as if The Bilinda Butchers went into a much darker direction instrumentally (even though I feel like the new The Bilinda Butchers album is rather dark in itself already)

Really cool feel you've got going on here. If you made it more full and made the strange whooshing sound higher in the first some it would really sound claustrophobic which would fit the music so nicely, so that would be cool. But cool ideas and cool synth line. Also you could work on getting some better, warmer sounding synths

Well thanks a lot! You're the first person to have reviewed my album, it feels pretty cool. I think the beef you have with the beats makes a lot of sense because the entire thing that set me on this path of songwriting was Age of Adz, which is my favorite album of all time. And I was fascinated by how the drums were the centerpiece of the song and the music almost complimented the drums instead of the other way around. So i spent a lot of time trying to make full, intriguing backbones to the songs. But I can totally see how that could get repetitive. Thanks for the kind words though. Means a lot.

>>48684405
>implying myspace will hype anything
>>48684513
I think people just get offended easily. Also, i read through a lot of your reviews and, even when you can tell you really like an album, you're quite quick to point out the parts you DIDNT like above the parts you did like. For instance, for Flail the only positive things you noted are that you like the dreaminess i'm going for and the singing is great but then you spend more than half the review talking about the beats. (I'm not trying to complain at all, I'm flattered by the review and I can tell you enjoyed it a lot due to the rating and the fact that you even cared enough to post about it, which is super cool) So maybe people will appreciate constructive criticism a little more if you go a little bit more in depth with the positive aspects.
Just some ideas for how to improve! I hope you don't think I don't appreciate it or, more importantly, that I'm pissed off about the review because I'm totally not.
>>48684575
true maybe i'll search for their geocities or angelfire page from 1998
