alien rap / gerald jay markoe general thread
When did you realize this album was a masterpiece?
You guys wanna make a tribute album to this shit or something?
>There is a special message on this cd for the kids of earth
>Meditative music inspired by Stonehenge and the Druids. Played on harp, flute, oboe, strings and bells with soft background textures. A magical journey to the time and place of wizards, fairies, castles, unicorns and all things magical.
Oh so is this /mu/'s new oh-so-funny memecore album like Viper and whatever shit came after that
Fuck off guys vaporwave is dead stop trying to bring about the next meme genre genesis
That said someone give me a link I can't find the album on youtube
Definitely have to download though. puu sh/arXN4/b426ca3f75.jpg
Hell, I'd seriously give it a try just because I have nothing better to do... Yet it's intentionally difficult to acquire.
alright, I designate myself the purchaser, I'll post the link in a few
Well I didn't find Alien Rap but here's what's on rutracker:
(Meditative) Gerald Jay Markoe - Meditation Music of Ancient Egypt - 2004, FLAC (image +. cue)
(New Age) Gerald Jay Markoe - Music Of The Angels - 1994, FLAC (tracks +. Cue)
(New Age, Meditative, Space Music) Gerald Jay Markoe - Music From The Pleiades - 1994, MP3, 320 kbps
(Psychoactive th program) Perfume Stars with Hemi-Sink (Star Spirits with Hemi-Sync ® CD) [Gerald Jay Markoe] - 2006, FLAC (cue + image)
thanks kind anon, but I don't see my email in there...
and here we are everyone
how do I get in in aac instead of m4a so I can convert it to mp3 320? unless you guys want them in m4a
These eleven synthesizer pieces were designed to create the sensation of an otherworldly voyage to the Pleiades, a star cluster in the constellation of Taurus often cited as the origin of extraterrestrial visitors to Earth. Markoe recorded the album in a studio filled with crystals, which he says gives the music a very special vibration. One reviewer called Music from the Pleiades "a good tape for out-of-body projection." However, the spacey, orchestra-inspired compositions themselves don't necessarily stand up to concentrated listening.
Go to General Settings, Import Settings. Set whatever compression settings you want. Find the songs in your iTunes library, right click, click 'Create XXX Version' (its based on what your settings are) and it'll convert them.
i don't know if store purchases can be converted this way, because i've never bought anything from iTunes, but that's how you convert everything else in iTunes, so worth a shot, i guess.
Incident in Lake County. Watch it in the dark for maximum spook.
>tfw you will never live in that perfect alien world they describe in the album
Alien Kids - Alien Rap (Songs About Life On the Planet Glumph)(FLAC)
>Alienwave, Synth-Punk, Outsider Music
some guy told me how to get them in wav in itunes
I used itunes to get it in wav and then converted it with db poweramp to flac, if it fucked up I have it in 256kbps m4a that itunes gave it to me in
no problem m8
jesus christ, reading comprehension
I did what
and changed the encoder to wav, and then used that to get a wav version of that album because I purchased it in itunes. I then converted that to FLAC. If it messed up, I'll up it in the 256kbps m4a version that I bought it in by default.
Also fuck you, I spent actual money on this, at least say thanks or something, a low quality link is better than none
Then why doesnt the spectrogram say so?
oh man now I have to download this shit.
Thanks for sharing.
I actually wish /mu/ were all about obscure dumb shit like this, regardless of quality. I would rather come on here and see a hundred silly albums like this and field recordings and weird shit instead of just seeing all the same regular popular artists on here. Can we make this kind of listening a new subculture on /mu/? instead of just picking one random on to make into a meme?
Sometimes I find old tapes and stuff around my house like 'learn multiplication rap' or 'arctic adventure story book' and I sometimes enjoy listening to finds like these more than the stuff I find on here. it's good for sampling too. We ought to have like bargain bin versions of sharethreads where we all just bring in junk albums and build a kind of thrift store to sort trough instead of a record store like on the regular ones.People could even post videos for people to sample.
I think he's right, the m4a sounds significantly better
Alien Kids - Alien Rap (Songs About Life On The Planet Glumph)
>Alienwave, Synthpunk, Outsider Music
I'm all for this.
Someone should make serious alienwave.
Also, How to Make Alien Ice Cream seriously sounds like Suicide.
for clarification, this is the 256kbps m4a
The Great Message is really inspirational
i really would like if this idea takes off. It's like, everyone already can get the music we talk about now. it's just rehashing the same stuff. It's like this place is a magnet for popular music. Why not tweak the magnet so that we attract the complete opposite? music that get overlooked and no one listens to. Then this place would have something really unique to offer. we could even start threads where instead of making tribute albums, we just make plunderphonics from the garbage ones we collect here. Then at the end of the thread we make a new one and build it up until we are making remix albums out of our pluderphonic albums and it keeps going till you are listening to some new mutant kind of music.
I made a slowed down version with actual pitch vocals (not on first track tho)
>"They don't fill the kids heads with a lot of useless knowledge and they don't put of finding out what they want to do until they go to college."
Why can't I live on the alien planet?
fuck me, this actually has some resemblance
Is /alien/ actually gonna become a thing? This is fucking ridiculous, it was a child rap album you fuckers.
Keep it going I want to see how many people actually fall for this.
Look at this non-glumphian, we are a peaceful people! Please relinquish yourself immediately sir!
>Don't believe the people who say it can't be done
>Hicks can rap better than niggers these days
