25i just made me feel cooked without any of the uplifting/enlightening experiences I get on LSD/Shrooms. Plus that shit constricts your blood vessels in your brain. It's really not worth the risk when acid is so much better and easier to obtain.

When me and my friends did 25i (thought it was acid), 3/5 of us had bad experiences, we were mostly listening to Hyperdub's 10.1 comp that came out this year. One guy reverted to some kind of nature boy and ran around the neighborhood without a shirt stealing lawn ornaments. One guy went catatonic and I had to look after him. Upon waking to James Blake's ST, he told me how he saw himself dying in hundreds of different ways, eventually accepting the fact himself that death is inevitable. What's with all these people having bad experiences with 25i? I'm not going to call people out for not enjoying it, but it's almost like the internet is on on a big circlejerk to give it a bad name. I remember taking shrooms last year. Walked around a forest for hours, just experiencing this sense that everything's going to turn out all right. Everything looked like an Ozric Tentacles album cover, so I want to say that. However, I couldn't listen to anything psychedelic during that period, because it just felt redundant. Shit like Pink Floyd, Shpongle, Grateful Dead, all that cliche psychedelic music, that was all about the experience, but it's not for the experience itself. I ended up listening to old 1960s soul. Anything Motown, Stax, Atlantic, that was perfect. Also, a little bit of modal jazz. Maiden Voyage-era Herbie Hancock, stuff like that.

I'd recommend eating the mushrooms at four in the morning, while it's still dark out. It'll kick in around twilight, and the moon just starts to stretch and crack open. I was listening to I Put a Spell on You by Screamin' Jay Hawkins, so that was killer. Peaked right at daybreak, with Stevie Wonder's You Haven't Done Nothin'. I couldn't ask for a better first time.

This makes no sense to me. I find that though they're pretty similar, shrooms have a bit more of a tendency to suck me up into a head trip, whereas acid ignites something inside me and causes me to have trippy interactions with the world.

I don't know what to think about the analogue and digital comparisons. Having not taken shrooms, I guess I can't really comment, but I've always had a problem with the "shrooms are good because they're natural" bandwagon. As dsomething with a good understanding of chemistry, it's all fucking chemicals. The fact that one happens to occur in the natural world doesn't mean shit to me. There isn't some divine agenda that says shrooms were meant for human consumption and LSD wasn't.

That aside, LSD has never really felt that unnatural to me. It feels like a drug, that's as much vas I can say. Most or all psychedelics I've tried I would describe as synthetic feeling. LSD, 25i, and DMT certainly felt extremely 'trippy' and alien to me. aMT is sort of halfway, it's a completely mad-made substance and yet in some ways it feels more 'analogue' to me, which I think says it all.

Nitrous Oxide is the best UK legal drug IMO. If you're one of those people who shrugs it off like "Oh yeah I tried that once it made me lightheaded for 10 seconds" haven't used it properly. Inhaling enough of it will completely dissociate you from reality and give you incredible euphoria. Smoked DMT once now, I found it incredible but slightly terrifying like salvia, mainly because of the intensity of it. I got a big inhale and never have I felt overwhelmed by a drug so quickly. It felt so weird and trippy, it was like having your consciousness suddenly being intercepted by aliens. I did enjoy it, but I might wait a bit before trying it again.
