All Night Long-Chill track. Great for the summer. I would actually play this in front of your friend if I were you.

The female vocal sounds nice. It was super effective the first time that sample came up. I'm glad you had a variation on the sample around 4:00 in so kudos for that. The piano-ish sound is a bit too midi-y, so I would polish that sound a bit more. Cool track overall.

All right man.

The church organ is a bit too cliche for me in a dance music setting. And the synth sound that comes up around :32 is too preset-like. The bass sound around 1:00 is a bit too amateurish. It could have a longer sustain and release (could be lower in frequency too). More groovy line would do this track justice too.

The synth sound around 2:00 was actually cool. Reminded me of Tycho.

The song gets better after 2:00. Yeah, and the sound in 3:00 is cool.

Mmm, there isn't much that will make me come back and listen to this track again. More stronger groove, texture, and memorable melody are still needed.

Man, the transition between the samples aren't smooth enough (especially in the first two). I'm into plunderphonic stuff and listen to lot of experimental pieces, but this one isn't doing it for me. Some of the samples are cool, but there isn't too many that are interesting. It doesn't even feel too random for me. If you were going for something in which each samples are connected in some way, I did not feel that. I would start layering these various samples together and go from there.

Smokes-This is cool. The sample is a bit too muffled. I would eq that or get a cleaner sample. The bass is nice & low, and it comes at a good timing. Yeah, it IS pretty repetitive, but it's a short song too at the same time. I can actually see this developed into something... More change in dynamic and having more of a structure.

I'm all right with having just one side playing, but it was a bit too heavy; I was starting feel uncomfortable (maybe that was what you were going for??).

Hey everyone, I don't usually post too much on this board, but I'd like to get a friend and I's little project some listeners.
Our "band", if you want to call it that, is named Periapsis. We mainly focus on writing jazzy music (See Earthshine for a good representation), but we play around with other ideas as well.

If you care to listen, I suggest listening to "Earthshine" to get a good feel as to what our sound will mainly focus around.
The song "When Wounds (Eventually) Heal" was a little joke song we did to "remake" an earlier song.

Beautiful intro. The individual note picking after the intro feels a bit too mechanical for me. Maybe using a finger might work (or a lighter pick)... The arpeggio after 1:00 sounds fine though.

Even though it's minimal, it's very atmospheric and beautiful. Nice work. I like this. Man, I would be interested in how it would develop. I listened to the next a little bit, and it also made me visual colors. Purple specifically...

Earthshine-Very clean and crisp guitar sounds guys. A bit too dry on the rhythm guitar, so I would add a bit more reverb. Reminded me of Toe a bit.

The reverb automation was a fucking nice touch. Man, I would love some bass guitar on this. Hell, I love to add some.

The absence of bass is my main concern. Other than that, this is solid.

The ironic thing is, we actually did have bass guitar in there. Usually we use a bass vst, but this was the first time we actually recorded an actual bass for it. I'm working on putting lyrics to the song, so probably when it gets a final release I'll boost the bass guitar some more to bring it out.

Saigon-The beat sounds pretty generic and cliche; nothing new and interesting. Do something interesting with the hi-hat especially. The girl vocal sample didn't do too much to the track either. t would polish the bass sound too. Sounds too fart like.

I think you could've used a better rain+thunder sample. I do like the idea though. The atmospheric synth sound fits with it too. The minimal beat gives it a rainy feel too.

The percussion is a bit too dry for a track like this, so add some reverb, man.

I would first fix that font on the photo. Looks very amateurish in comparison to the photo.

Simple Math-This sounds a bit too much like Beck's "Golden Age." So I would like something more unique and original.

It sounds a bit too mono-y for me. I want more layering. The "ooh" part could be layered and panned.

The guitar solo is not really good, I'm sorry. There are too many off-key notes in there. Sounds a bit too dry too, and the performance is not good either.

I would start using pop-filter. Also, I would add a tiny bit more reverb on the vocal. Not really digging the piano.

It sounds a bit too over-compressed. The waveform looks like a brick wall too.

The vocal could be layered in some parts. Like around :30.

I would like some solos in there too. I think that will make this track interesting. Or a short section with just a bass line. I guess I want some more variation on the dynamic.

New Song- The singing is rather annoying to be honest, but that's just my taste. The vocal is not recorded well either.

Get a better equipment, and rethink about your vocal style. There are lot of people who does that sort of vocal style anyway so try something new.

The drum is a bit too thin. The track sounds thin overall too.

I would add some reverb since the instruments sound too dry. The bass is usually panned right in the center, so I would try that out next time.
There isn't too much going in the right channel, so I would add some sounds.

1:08 is fantastic. Nice work.
It's really well mixed there. The vocal layering after the climax is executed well too. The vocal sometimes sound a bit lazy-like, so I would like a little more "oomph" if that makes sense. The vocal is good overall tho.

The vocal could've been harsh. Distorted hell or heavy on chorus effect (kinda like what Current 93 did in one of the song). The drone sound could be much louder.

Definitely an interesting concept, and it's grotesque (which I always dig in music). Keep doing interesting and unique things.

Interesting rapping style. At first I was into the vocal style, but I started to dig it. I like the change in dynamic and emotion on the vocal too.

The guitar section around :56 was a nice touch.

The second movement is rad. The vocal has more flow, so I dig it.

I also liked the third movement (?) where the mood changes up to something dark and abrasive.

The transition to the last movement could've been a little more dramatic and smooth.

Pretty generic House beat. It's not anything I haven't heard before. Needs a much stronger intro too.

The synth sound around 1:00 was cool, and the melody made this interesting and memorable.

It's just needed a more compelling intro because the track got better as it went on.

I like the second movement better.

The transition could be smoother overall within each movement. Maybe there could be some transition between each movement too.

Thanks for the feedback! I was thinking of adding transitions between each movement, but then I thought that each movement would be an individual cue, so between each movement there would be dialogue or other shots with no music. However, I do agree that I need to extend the length of each movement though, maybe add more changes of tempo/dynamics within each cue and add a little more repetition so it doesn't end too quickly. I'm digging the beating effect that's going on with the bass.

The percussion sounds and the weird synth mixed really well.

I wanted something with different timbre later on in the track to keep the track interesting. The panning synth sound got pretty stale after a while.

The transition around 4:37 could be better too.

Anyway, it's not THAT bad actually.
The song is way too compressed though. Listeners are capable of turning up the volume, so don't over compress.

I would also spend a little bit more time mixing.

There needs to be a stronger ending too. Also, more change in dynamic or a mood could keep the song interesting.
