Sup, /mu/.
I have the ambition to make an album with my own music, but I don't want it to be generic. It's a personal project, I have no intention of becoming famous.
I'm writing some songs, but I have no idea how to enter letters on them.
I already have some ready to melodies with consistent solos and good riffs. But every time I sing, it seems kind strange, unnatural.
Also refuse sing about standard themes as girls, passion/love, oppressive capitalism, enjoying life, etc.
I want it to be as original as possible and the letter clearly as well.
Sorry for the bad english, it's not my mother language.
>>68191139
Do you want to sing? Maybe you could get someone else to sing.
>>68191139
So basically, what you're saying is that you want to be creative, but you have no creativity. Nice.
What artists are you inspired by?
>>68191166
This is not the problem. But, I could do it as well. My voice is good. I don`t mind to sing or not, but I don`t know many fellas that would sing in band.
>>68191192
I focus more in aesthetics (scales, riffs, solos, rhythm, etc.)
I know it`s kind meh but I inspire in Steve Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, SOAD, Metallica, Slash, Queen, Os Mutantes, Ronnie Von, Led Zepplin, Plink Floyd.
I like the guitars.
>he doesn't drink tea out of his Burzum mug while watching ThuleanPerspective videos in between listening to Burzum while eating home backed cookies
bet you haven't even done 10 years hard time kid
>>68190957
I would like a Burzum mug, but it would clash horribly with my Emma Bridgewater collection.
>not eating brunost
His voice is hot garbage.
Prove me wrong.
>music is objective
done, /thread, delete this, delete your life

I agree with you. Absolute shit and wayyyy past his prime
Let's just say post-rock is still a thing this year. What do you think the best album of the genre for 2016?
If it qualifies Yndi Halda is the only one I got into

ITT: Insanely underrated artists, that should be much more commonly known.
Gino Vannelli. Amazing vocalist and songwriter, combining pop appeal with soul energy and mind-boggling complex Steely Dan-esque arrangements, groundbreaking use of synths in the early 70s. Powerful stage presence, meaningful lyrics... what's wrong? Nobody seems to know about him other than those who were around when he had his biggest hits.... he should be a living legend!

Death Grips :^)
Mike Keneally... he's known mostly as a virtuoso guitarist and some kind of Zappa clone, while he's certainly influenced, he's definitely the most accomplished composer of all of them, and his music has its own quality and integrity that none of the others come close to. You'd think he'd be more well known at least among prog and guitar virtuoso fans, but it seems like they don't care about him much, maybe because his music is too "weird" and not showing off his guitar skills enough in the way they like.

Somnium by Robert Rich is a seven hour ambient album for sleeping. Never listened to it and I don't know if it works but you could give it a try.

subterranean
A girl comes up to you on the bus and tells you she has never heard music before and wants you to show her some
What do you do?
If she looks like that picture I scream and try to jump off the bus.

Obviously the best introduction would be something stupidly complex.
>>68190374
the girl is not impressed
every time i've tried listening to this
it's just so mindnumbingly boring, i don't think i've ever finished it

This will get called bait but I agree with you.
>he doesn't fall asleep to the sound of screaming retards
>first listen: wow the production on this is great and the songwriting seems great too!
>every other listen: holy fuck why is it only these stupid ass back and forth chord progressions in every fucking song??
Literally the definition of a 7/10 album
>>68190250
Id say a high 6 but maybe a 7 on a good day.
There are some good tracks on here but the weak chord progressions really hold this one back. Especially considering how great of a songwriter Angel Olsen has proven herself to be in the past.

She's a woman, so people will be more lenient regardless of how good her music is.

So i recorded my band yesterday to FL studio.
I had all recorded tracks at the sequencer section.
Now today I was going to start mixing them but all my tracks were speeded/pitched up. They are also speeded up in my libary where i saved those files.
Does anyone know what the fuck has happened? Can I fix this?
i'm gonna take a total guess and say somewhere between the recording & the playback the sample rate changed
if they're playing back faster they're probably at 48khz now; try converting them to 44.1khz & playing them back
ofc i'm just talking out of my ass so i could be entirely wrong
>>68190203
Thank you for your answer.
These files were recorded with RME fireface ufx (interface) and its driver Asio Fireface usb.
I opened couple of these ruined files in edison and it says that samplerate is 44.1 khz.
>>68190352
do other audio files on your computer still play at the proper speed & pitch if you hit play on them right now?
