Is it good? Is it bad? Did Phil Spector do a good job or not? Were his changes beneficial or detrimental? Do you prefer any alternate versions?

It honestly feels like it was filled with songs that didn't make it to the White Album.
Pretty weak overall. Would be a forgettable release if it wasn't the last LP by The Beatles.
Something can be said for Spector's sound being too dense and overbearing, but at least his version of the long & winding road was sappy instead of that goofy ass "naked" version.
I wish there was a better version of this
Any music majors here?
I'm starting college next semester, I decided to take a break when I got out of college.
If you majored in music, what are you doing with your degree?
I can play 4 or 5 instruments, and really want to pursue music. Not sure what to do once I go to uni for it though.
I'd major in music but I live in the good ol US of A and want a job when I graduate to pay the jews back so I'm doing compsci instead. I might take a few classes on composition though.
You could try to become a session musician or audio engineer I would bet.

I was thinking of studying music at uni but decided against it (UK for relevance).
I looked into it but found most places fell into two categories
1." Rockschool" type berklee rip offs that focus on modern music but will basically accept any tennager that plays guitar and can pay tution.
2. Conservertoirs that focus on classical/ jazz that wont accept unless your above grade 7 in two instruments and practice for 4 hours a day.
As i didnt really want to do either of those and i also want a job i chose against it. Just graduated with a degree in physics but still no idea what to do with it.
Actual success in the music industry does not depend on qualifications but talent and networking (probably weighted on the latter).

I like 80s J-Pop.
So how many of you think you know a lot about music, but can't even play an instrument and have never studied music theory, let alone the history of music?
But hey none of that matters right? Because you have a few Radiohead albums on vinyl, and subscribed to The Needle Drop on YouTube! You must know your stuff!
hello i like music
Do you think you have to be an actor or director to be well-versed in cinema?
The implication that you have to participate in an art form to be knowledgeable about it is generally only purported by shitty and/or failed artists who feel the need to be superior about something because they can't feel superior because of anything they've actually done.
I've studied music theory and was a music major for a bit btw.

How the fuck was Tomorrow Never Knows made over 50 years ago? I'm not a Beatles fan and find most of their work bland but god damn I can't even imagine how awestruck people in the '60s must've been when they heard this for the first time.
that's the song that convinced me that Scaruffi was wrong about the Beatles
fuck I recently watched a clip from the documentary about how they made Tomorrow Never Knows and it was pretty cool, but it's not on youtube. I think it was a facebook video but I can't find it :(
Probably barely close to their reactions to Strawberry Fields Forever. That song made Brian Wilson cry bc he couldn'f top it.
The Beatles passed the torch to David Bowie. David Bowie passed the torch to Talking Heads. Talking Heads passed the torch to Radiohead. Radiohead passed the torch to ???.
Radiohead let the torch burn out by being absolute shit m8
Lil B "The BasedGod"

Hi anons, im looking for a (good) dubstep album as Untrue. Is there any in the Internet?
>>68241175
Nothing quite matches up to that masterpiece anon, i'm sorry.
Here, take an Untrue Wallpaper instead
Nothing is quite like Untrue, but I'd try James Blake's s/t and his early EPs
Burial is extremely overrated
