"I was looking for a job, and then I found a job."
What did he mean by this?
Truly a lyrical genius
It means Buddy Holly died so young as to be a fashion accessory.

I remember reading the lyrics for the songs on this album and it's drenched in melancholy and pessimism. Aside from Pet Sounds ,what other pop albums do this?

Alright then /mu/, time for a game of fuck, kill, marry!
The rule is simple: choose one of the three to kill, one to fuck senselessly and one to be with with until death do you apart.
Feel free to post your own three. Only rule is that they have to be related to music.
>Super easy mode: shag two, marry one.
>Hard mode: kill two, marry one.

Please a pic of Marina that isn't 4 years old, this is what she looks like now
Also fuck Grimes marry Charli kill Marina

>regular mode

Welcome to /gotw/!
/gotw/, with stands for genre of the week, is an ongoing thread in which we vote for a genre and then spend the week listening to it. Every Saturday a new genre is chosen. Once a genre is used, it can’t be used again until the next year. We will listen to, rate, and discuss albums & other works in the genre. Then, once the week is over, we do it all over again. The goal is to expose others to music they may not have heard before, and to get more into genres.
This week’s genre is ambient.

I'm gonna go ahead and plug one of my favorite ambient albums, Substrata by Biosphere.
Biosphere was a Norwegian musician best known as one of the pioneers of "arctic ambient," a subgenre of ambient music focused on soundscapes that evoked imagery of arctic landscapes. He was known for incorporating samples of old movies and tv shows into his work, notably excerpts from John Carpenter's The Thing.
Substrata is one of his best works, incredibly beautiful and, arguably, the flagship album of the arctic ambient subgenre.

I like the idea of this.
>at a wedding
>mention to a buddy that the bride is a whore
>this guy chimes in with a "haven't you people ever heard of closing a goddamn door?"
What do you do?
Listen to better music

Pet Sounds and OoT. Ulysses seems more work than it's worth, and I'm not much into movies.

i wanted to post op this time
; _ ;
So here's the deal /mu/.
You're stranded on a desert island. You have no idea when, or if, someone is going to find you. Luckily you have a few possessions with you:
1) Your favourite album
2) The device to play that album (e.g. iPod for digital, vinyl player for vinyl etc.)
3) One instrument that you suddenly become proficient in playing
4) One tool for survival (not including the band)
5) A bonus item that you can decide. However, it cannot be used to get off the island (e.g. boat) or to call for help (e.g. flare, phone)
So /mu/, what items do you have and why?
I've got a lot of favourites, but the one that would fit in a deserted island situation would be:
>Swans - To Be Kind
>iPod
>any wind instrument will do
>Swiss knife
>a mirror my height to look at myself
>>68320438
>1) Your favourite album
Stevie Nicks - In Your Dreams
>2) The device to play that album (e.g. iPod for digital, vinyl player for vinyl etc.)
iPod
>3) One instrument that you suddenly become proficient in playing
guitar
>4) One tool for survival (not including the band)
knife
>5) A bonus item that you can decide. However, it cannot be used to get off the island (e.g. boat) or to call for help (e.g. flare, phone)
water distiller
>John Frusciante- Shadows Collide With People
>Ipod I guess, but it would go dead without a way to charge it.
>Guitar
>Hatchet
>First Aid Kit
Where i go from here? What album is better to listen next?
Mizutani
Yodo-go-a-go-go
Double Heads: Legendary Live Yaneura Shibuya, Tokyo 1980-1981
Naked Diza Star
In whatever order you like. Last two are very long, though.

Thank you!
If you have any other noise rock recommendations from other artists (i just discovered the goslings) i would be really grateful!
>>68320943
check out fushitsusha & high rise senpai
Truthfully though I love Beady Eye but watching them they didn't have much live chemistry, it's Liam on his own really. He needed some nut job in the mix to bounce off cuz they're just staring at the floor.

Cum for Liam everybody.

it's difficult to type anything at this point at how much
essentially these people won , they killed so much talent the UK lost about 2 generations of music art and culture to easy money in the same circles. I have a lot of venom towards the 90s institution but there's not much to do. . . it's either back them or there's nothing. America left the UK ( and sabotaged us) a long time ago. You think it's not true?
