>Earlier this week, Kid Cudi released a candid letter on his Facebook regarding his anxiety and depression, admitting that he had checked into a rehabilitation facility
>In his episode of our Everything You Need To Know series, Isaiah Rashad shared a personal story about crying in a bathroom stall to Kid Cudi's "The Prayer."
>Today, the Cudi fan and TDE rapper released a series of tweets referring to his own struggles with mental health.
Why do all rappers with depression make trash music?
http://www.thefader.com/2016/10/09/isaiah-rashad-mental-health-tweets
Most rappers make shit music depression or not
Black people cant get depression. Don't believe the lies

R.I.P
And nothing of value was lost.
What does /mu/ think of Debbie Harry and Blondie?
Rapture has the corniest rap verse ever recorded.
I would debbie just to get a harry look at her blondie if you know what i mean
Really innovate for their time, but the formula was copied so extensively that Blondie seems completely unremarkable today.
Been listening to this album a lot recently, I really dig it. Is it true that most of their other stuff isn't nearly as good though? The only other project I've heard from 'em is Pretty Hate Machine, and that had some great songs but also some over-the-top cheesy ones
>their
Most of their albums are good, the Fragile, Broken, Year Zero, and With Teeth especially.

Listen to Broken and the remix albums from that era, now move on too Coil and Foetus

IT'S OVER
RIP
i guess their green days are numbered hehe
I really enjoyed this album as well as The Mantle, but the harsh vocals are a turnoff for me. I can't really appreciate that style at all. Does anyone know of any bands or albums that do music in this style, but without the harsh vocals or even preferably with no vocals whatsoever? I'd really appreciate any recommendations you guys can think of.
Mostly acoustic but give it a shot won't ya

Listen until you like it.

Unfortunately Agalloch's sound is pretty unique to them. And the bands that sound even similar to them usually have harsh vocals in them.
Check out Old Silver Key, kind of similar, they have sung vocals instead of harsh vocals.
Also, The Third and the Mortal, they have a female vocalist and were an influence on Agalloch's sound.
Really can't help you beyond that.
When did you realize metal is better than rap i just did today.
rap metal >
I've never thought that hip-hop was better than metal in my life.
>>68374626
It isn't, though. As someone who likes both genres, I'd say they aren't really comparable
IT'S FUCKING HORRIBLE WHAT THE FUCK
What did you expect from such a blatant cash-grab?

I was like "this isn't that bad" until Brian came in. Damn...

Not terrible, but the production is bad. They released a live album a few years ago performing O&O and it's actually decent.

Colin looks and sounds extremely constipated.
That's why I respect Bowie for not touring into his later years. Obviously he stopped touring at first for health reasons but I think he realized it's better to go out on top. He made two great last records after retiring from touring too.
What's your opinion on Bahaus?
Really good. Great.
best goth band by far
look at these sweaters
>>68374236
fucking great. this album gets a lot of hate, but idk how anyone in their right mind could shit on it
The only reason people think the singles are better than the rest is because they were the singles
and these were the dubs

oooooh. That's shit m8
It's honestly one of the most depressing albums I've ever listened to. The songs sound 'colorful' and 'upbeat' on the surface, but there's this feeling of disconnect that comes through in the songs, like it's all fake, it all means absolutely nothing. It's like someone putting on a big fake smile while they're actually tortured. That's the vibe I get from this album. I think that the album was a creative exercise, and it failed. They consciously tried to let go of elements that seemed crucial to their artistic triumphs of the 2000's feeling that they weren't capable of that anymore, and it didn't work out for them. Painting With sounds like a weird death note. The most crushing thing about it is that it doesn't own up to how depressing it is, it does the opposite with bouncy synth notes etc, but then those form this weird thin sort of haze, and you realize how crushingly depressing the music actually is. There's no joy. It sounds like someone who wants to die.
Sometimes I wonder what an artist at their peak would think of what they're currently doing. In interviews from the 2000's Animal Collective seemed fully aware of what their strengths were and what they were capable of musically. Painting With sounds really confused and unsure, like everything is in question. Honestly, it sounds like they're doubting themselves creatively. In the 2000's it felt like everything was progressing towards something, and that was always vague and unclear, but there was this feeling of wonder and excitement. Now everything seems kind of plastic and dull and gray, like everything's just kind of there. It sounds like hell.
The most eclectic album ever next to The White Album?
I almost disagreed but then I remembered the trial
>90% arena rock
>eclectic
the wall fucking sucks

The irony is that this board uses the same exact rhetoric and elitism towards """normies""". When the crosshairs are on them suddenly you're all bashful.
Mike Love is more talented than Ian Curtis
Mike Love doesn't have these digits, though.

Is that his actual name?
Like, when you say it in the street or in a restaurant people will think you're saying Make Love
